Need help with mobile data. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I was using tw 4.1.2 and wanted to try the unofficial cm11 4.4. It said to use latest cwm witch I did. I formatted system, cache, data reset. Then I formatted the tombstone and firmware and then bam no mobile data. I think I did something wrong. I did not mean to format the tombstone and the firmware but mobile data will not work anymore. Please help I have a Verizon note 2 i605. I flashed back to stock backup but no mobile data.

I've been at this for a while, so your question surprises me. I have to ask, what's a "tombstone"?

Reflash your phone with the stock restore Odin file and don't touch the tombstone partition next time.

I did flash back stock with odin every thing works great on tw. I reroot flash latest cwm 6.0.4.3 did a factory data reset, flash unofficial cm11 11/26, flash 4.4 gapps and reboot. Data is still broke. No way to set apn or change to cdma/lte. Cm10.2 works fine.

Camera reboot

Good morning guys. I'm having trouble with my Samsung galaxy SGH-I777. Every time I open an app that uses he camera (ie camera, barcode scanner, flashlight, camera) he flash goes off then it just reboots he phone. I've already done a factory restore. I even went into recovery mode and wipe cache and did a restore from there. I've also just downloaded the new ICS update and it still didn't fix the problem. Please help
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
when you say factory restore does that mean you completely wiped the phone and flashed back to stock rom. If not, that's what I would do to determine if we're looking at a hardware or software issue.
No I didn't flash it back to stock. How would I even do that?

OK I flashed a new rom but it didn't work. Flashed back to ics still doesn't work

I would flash back to stock. If it still does it, bring it in to at&t service center and show them. They can give you a replacement. Or you can call them. Just make sure your on non rooted stock firmware.
a full wipe and reflash is required before posting any problems. because99 % of the time it's user error. Did you fully wipe system, cache, data, and run the kernel cleaning scriptbefore posting this issue?

Yes. I did a full wipe and restore. Installed a new rom and still nothing can I maybe install a new camera apk?

IF this is happening across roms, and assuming correct firmware, with a clean install (factory reset, no misc apps installed) then I'd say you have a hardware problem. If you've flashed incorrect firmware then a reset won't help you until you flash back to the correct firmware. Of course all of this moot if its physical damage caused by dropping the phone or maybe water damage. If you're completely stock and haven't subjected the phone to any physical abuse, then return the phone for a new one.

[Q] New to rooting i717

I have an AT&T i717 running ics stock rom. I installed cwm 5.0. something and was intending on installing the CM10 JellyBean rom from paranoid. It would not install from sd card. tried another rom from diff developer, same thing. I read that I needed an updated cwm so I tried to flash another, wouldnt work with the version of ODIN i had so i upgraded to v3.07, was able to flash another and then when I went to recovery it stayed in a black screen, reflashed the older version of cwm and now when I go to recovery it will show the main screen, but if I try to install or even reboot it takes the menu away and shows the symbol in the center. Am I just completely stupid? Have I missed something?
Are you rooted?

Do I select factory reset or system from the twrp menu?

Did it work?
Figured it out. Cleared both cache and delvik Cache and did a factory reset. worked like a charm. thanks for the help and I hope this helps others as well.
Just for future reference, also wiping system along with wiping cache/dalvik and factory reset is good practice. Sometimes not wiping system can cause some issues.

Unable to flash aosp roms

After running just about every ROM for this device, I recently flashed my first stock based ROM (cooked 1.8). However since this time I've been unable to flash back to any aosp ROM. I get boot looped on every one. I've tried everything. Yet, I can flash cooked again no problem. I know there's something I'm missing. Any help would be great.

You have a nandroid backup right? Restore that then flash whatever you want.

Backup won't boot either. That was my first plan.

Have you tried to format system under mounts and storage after your factory reset, and before you flash your rom and gapps? Just a suggestion. Not sure it will fix you problem or not. It seems as if I had a problem similar to what you are describing after running a Samsung based rom in the past. I believe that was the cure to my issue.

Search for Siyah kernel v4.3.3 in the forums and install, restart recovery and flash away. Should take care of it.

I always have kept that kernel on standby but that didn't work. I've tried every kernel. Can't believe backups won't even boot. I flashed cook's ROM wipe before his ROM the first time, wonder if that did something.

Try Odin to stock and start from scratch. A lot of work but hey what do you have to lose.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
First find a compatible Kernel for the AOSP ROM your trying to flash. Flash that Kernel.
Second, after the flashing is done, reformat the device; cache, dalkiv cache and system and system settings.
Third, reboot into recovery mode from the recovery menu itself.
Fourth, flash the kernel one more time.
Fifth, flash the AOSP ROM of your choice.
Sixth, reboot back into recovery menu.
Seventh, reformat once more.
Eigth, reboot the device.
As you should know, the first boot up after flashing a ROM takes the longest. Give it like a minute or two.
If this doesn't work, you have to flash a kernel that was compatible with the "cooked" rom you were using. Then from there do a reformat from the recovery menu. Once reformat is done, flash the AOSP kernel, then flash the AOSP ROM right after. Then reformat once more and reboot as normal.
If that doesn't work, flash compatible kernel with the "cooked" ROM your using now and also relay the cooked ROM, and then use Odin to bring it back to stock un-rooted. From there, do as you wish.

That is exactly what needed to be done. Mr cook actually has another thread with cwm flashable wipe scripts that would have done that. Quite handy

[Q] Help!! No service when flashing KitKat roms.

I've had no luck with KitKat getting provisioned properly. Every time it shows no MIN or Mdn out prl. I can flash back to twrp and restore slimbean and have no connection issues. I've successfully flashed stock mc3 in cwm and gotten service then tried cm11 and no luck.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I did. I was in twrp on slimbean. Flashed CWM touch, booted into CWM recovery. From there I factory reset and wiped system. Flashed CM11, PA_GAPPS 4.4 12/12/13 and had no service. Flashed Beans stock mc3 in CWM and had signal. Then tried CM11 again after having service in CWM with stock. At this point I'm back in TWRP with Slimbean.
Thanks in advance!
Hope you are using cm11 which is 2611 built

I previously had the same issue with the 2611 build and I'd now happening on the 12-9 build
Same Issue
Currently having the issue, i am always stuck in roaming and after surfing the web about the issue following some other phone guides as well i am still having the issue, after flashing kitkat, still no service. I also went back to stock and reset the phone as well, also tried doing a refresh on the antenna as well still no cigar.
problem solved!

After some thinking, I noticed that the mj9 stock ROM was available. I odin'd back to stock, ran casual, used odin to flash twrp 2.6.3.1, flashed beanstown stock odexed mj9 ROM. After verifying signal, I did factory reset from twrp, and installed sbrissen 12-9 ota 4.4 ROM and gapps 12-13. Success. Going to backup and try slimkat next, but thought I'd update you all.

Phone goes direct to download mode

As title says, verizon note 2 when powered off it goes to download/odin mode. I can connect to odin and I have reflashed the beanstown mj9 modem again. No luck with that. I then odin'd to 4.1.2 stock but still unlocked bootloader.
I have wiped system wiped cache and dalvik while also factory resetting.
I'm at a loss as to what's causing the issue and also how to fix.
My next step is to completely start from scratch and reload stock firmware 4.1.2 vramc3 with locked bootloader and then unlock everything and root again.
Any other ideas?

Look in the general thread for Data partition fix.. Follow the directions about flashing stock recovery and then doing a factory reset with the stock recovery.
