Installed CM10 'TrollXperia' without problems.
No built in screen capture yet. Used aScreenshot, which is an an old app I had laying around to capture screens.
FPS 2D avg=49 stdev=2.98
I'd be looking for something more in the range of 54FPS+ as we progress further with development.
We should be looking at good 3D performance with 11FPS in NenaMark2
Running AnTuTu on a FerVolt kernel is slower than watching glaciers move, but that aside, AnTuTu returns 4992 (998MHz Performance/Deadline)
AnTuTu benchmarks are not always seem as good form in a development thread, but they do lay down a general indicator which can be useful for tracking the likes of 2D, 3D and I/O changes as development progresses.

AnTuTu rebooted on 3D graphics when clocked at 1190MHz so just used 998MHz (performance/deadline)
In general activities, the screen responses seemed smooth, and application load time was quick. No WLOD during my 1hour meet and greet with CM10.
Didn't test any video playback as my video players wanted Google Play installed to verify licences and etc.
Will have another look when WiFi is enabled.

Hi, thanks for te report, this is realy useful , however we are woking on the base without any tweak or so, sothe main goal is to have full hardware support, like camcorderhwa etc... about the lag of the kernel and performences its cause we USE ION memory managemnt inside this new kernel and its not stable yet, i will remake another build when i will fix those problems, now i need only hwa tests for this, 720p videos pleas test and report, as this om thread is made for one big objective, android 4.4 Kitkat, so i want to have a good base heare to work on kitkat with improved source code
cheers

I confirm 720p videos works without problem. I test it with mxplayer
Sent from my Xperia X10 using xda app-developers app
maybe a little bug for me that DU meter does not count any internet data usage, also onavo counter and so many apps for counting data usage does not give me any reports ... BUT :
720p videos playback works good, also apps responding is very fast especially in browsers & facebook, overall performance is faster and more responsive than previous builds .
thank you Achotjan, also thanks to Fera, for your hard work and for keeping our x10 alive.
Video time.

I installed the ROM again and tested known working mp4 and mkv 720p videos and none of the ones I have played in CM10 TrollXperia
Feravolt very kindly supplied a reference to a Yosemite 720p mp4 video which became a defacto benchmark for GB 2.3 FeraKernel development/testing.
Video: MP4 H.264(AVC1) 30fps 1280x720(HW acc)
Audio: AAC (44.1KHz) 2 ch
The Yomsemite video could not be played on CM10 TrollXperia in either MX Player Pro nor BSPlayer
Maybe @FeraVolt could graciously provide a link to the Yosemite video again as that was a good video and could be watched over a few times without undue stress to the viewer and then multiple testers have at least one common test video with a known format.
I also have many mkv(H.264,AC3) (6 audio channels) 25fps optimized '720p' videos which on GB 2.3 plays in HW+ (MX Player Pro) or HW (BSPlayer) mode and have good smooth playback.
Video: MKV H.264 25fps 720x576(HW acc)
Audio: AC3 (44.1KHz) 6 ch
None of my mkv optimized '720p' videos played on the current CM10 TrollXperia version using MX Player Pro nor BSPlayer
Google Play FPS2D is a pretty good bell weather for Hardware Acceleration. If you're not getting 54FPS or above then it's not operating at the level of well configured GB 2.3
The only video I could get to play was an optimized '720p' video, which normally only plays in sw mode anyway.
Video: MP4(AVC1) 24fps 1024x580(SW)
Audio: AAC (44.1KHz) 2 ch
The good thing is, that the audio and video sync. In some ROMs and video players the software encoding is to much for the CPU.
So... I can only surmise that Hardware Acceleration is not fully functional with all codecs using CM10 TrollXperia at this time.
As we can see HW acceleration does work with CM10 TrollXperia on some video formats
My daily is DooMKernel v6 and X10S v9 ROM
I have also used/tested FeraKernel xx.xx and X10S v9 ROM as well.
In the above two Kernels (DooMKernel and FeraKernel) all the above videos I tested work and play smoothly.
All the above videos also play on an XPERIA M and an XPERIA S without any problems, both of which are running JB 4.1.2
Can i dirty flash over CMX10 or i need a full wipe ?

This is (was) a request for some feedback/review of the CM7 Tablet Tweaks rom for Harmony/Gtablet. Also which files do I install and whats the entire process that was taken to get the market working and which Gapps link did you use? I've installed a few roms so far but reading some of the CM7 forum post i've been hesitant to install CM7 due to some of the old bugs I read about.
I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1028088
but I believe there have been updates to the rom files and not sure which ones to install.
What does or doesn't work with this CM7 Rom? I know video acceleration isn't working but can you still play 720p video through software video players?
What are benchmark scores?
What bugs have been found?
Is it stable? ie. random reboots?random freezes?
EDIT:
So 71 views and I just decided to take the dive into cynogenmod... Totally easy install.
I don't know why I was scared.
Just installed CM7 nightlies 41 check cyanogenmod website for link Look for HARMONY nightlies
with Tablet Tweaks theme apk http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041588
Installed also Pershoots latest GB kernel 1400mhz
Brief install instructions-
1. Flash nightlies 41 zip via CWM
2. Flash GAPPS.zip
3. Flash Pershoot Kernel for Gingerbread.
Reboot and should boot quick.
All benchmarks run at 1400mhz max
SmartBench - 4564
Quadrant - 2225
Linpack - 51.463 mflops
Will post video showing actual Video playback and Game playability. Feels silky smooth so far guys.
I'm liking the Honeycomb theme which looks amazing.
Thanks Cyanogenmod team for such an amazing ROM.
Not working-
Video recording
HD video playback not working- fix is to use different players, sometimes this fixes the issues
Sound Playback - have to plug/unplug headphones in order to make speakers play sound
Camera takes pixelated pictures
Some games not working - Minigore (Must have)
Touch screen is jittery when playing games involving 2 virtual joysticks
Some apps just don't work with the Rom, IE.. Quickoffice
[UPDATE]
I was going to do a short video but no longer have my camera (long story)
Last minute thoughts before wiping
- without video acceleration it makes the G Tablet for me unusable, I love the HONEYCOMB theme, seriously it looks awesome but all that good paint on the outside without allowing me to use the video capabilities to their max/video performance is a deal breaker now for me. I will be back to CM7 once the video issues are fixed.
*Goodbye Honeycomb Paint Job*
If you watch videos encoded in high quality resolutions above 854x480, H.264 or MPEG4 and a pretty high bitrate, you might notice that video playback is laggy and not fluid with custom ROMs. This flashable zip package is supposed to fix that.
Tested
Stable - Any ROM based on stock 2.3.3 (Wolfs TW Gingerbread, Blue Sparks, Ultima GB etc.)
Stable - Most xRecovery-based CM7 ROMs (ZMOD, SpaarcMOD, FreeXperia Sony UI Achotjan etc.)
Stuck on boot - MIUI ROMs
Untested
FXP CM7 (won't work anyways since it uses CWM)
Special thanks to

EDIT: I've uploaded a test video to check whether video decoder lag is present or not.
http://puu.sh/5j8h/SmoothnessTest.mp4 (854x480, H.264, 5 mbit/s)
If it stutters during playback, that's an indication that the video is lagging.
This fix will not eliminate the problem but will reduce the lag by a huge margin.
I noticed this while watching videos with camera panning, they looked very juddery.
Anyone tried this? Just wondering what the original problem was.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
So, this should enable me (us) to play 720p Youtube vids?

Why do you feel like discouraging people who try to offer something to the community?
On the one hand, there are tons of threads in General section
whining about people moving on from the X10 and development stalling,
and then there are post like yours... It's just not right.
Anyway, @OP, I played the test video and noticed no lags.
Could you explain what is it that you changed in the .so libraries please?
And why some people have the issue and others don't?
Thank you very much!
Okay. Downloaded the files. Tested the video. It does stutter a little.
Tested with scary gov. Running video twice... 22sec at 128mhz. And none over 500mhz! So its not decoding over cpu
P.s. Yes, also did with performance. Same problem.
Now gonna make backup. And then flash file.
Noticed the lag myself. So maybe it's missing a video codec, so it's not using hardware rendering.
I'll flash the fix and see if it works.

It depends.
On modded stock ROMs, if the dev included z's audio lag fix, this problem will surface.
On custom ROMs (CM7 for example), the issue is already there.
This zip simply replaces the libs with those from stock ROM.
PS: It was one of the reasons why I didn't use Froyo custom ROMs.

Technically, yes. Personally, I rarely get any audio lags while listening to music except when there's CPU heavy stuff going on like installing a large app from the Market.

Not really. We play HQ YT vids aka 480p
Try DL-ing a 720p or even a 1080p vid and play it... see what happens. Not to mention HD divx/xvid content
P.S. regarding audio lag. I still experience it while underclocking to 128MHz. It's doesn't happen while the sleep FQ is at 245, though
I'll keep this simple, guys:
I was running Vegan-Gingerbread and everything just kind of worked. Unfortunately 720p video, even running overclocked, was just a stuttering mess.
Because it was all software decoding on Gingerbread...I think.
So I went through all the hoops and installed (finally, after bricking the thing a few times) BEASTCLEMSONFROYOWHATEVER super ultra overclocked speedy rom...Froyo based. Tried a few 720p files. One said HW DECODING...but produced no picture OR sound. Switching to software displayed choppy video and sound, unwatchable, of a 720p file.
I tried a few more video players. Some wont use hardware at all, so the results are awful. only that one app (Mplayer? Vitalpoalyer?) used HW but then it produced no results at all.
So here it is:
Is there any player that run on either Vegan Tab 5.1 beta (Froyo bl 1.1) or this Beast/Clemson rom I am on now (Froyo bl 1.2) that will use HW decoding of 720p and play at full speed?
If the answer is no I'll go back to Gingerbread and handbrake my files to 1024 x something...and see if the gtab can software-decode that. If not, then I'll drop down to DVD rez...720x480, which we all know the gtab can do.....
Thank you very much

I would say if you don't mind the non-functional camera and mic then I would take the leap to the ICS roms that are in the Dev. forum. Both have great HD playback and both have HW decoding because they share the same kernel made by the Team DRH. I am currently running the AOSP G-Harmony Rom without any issues. Just have to turn off GPS apon initial bootup so that the sound stays on .
Does ICS actually run anything on the GTAB?? EG: Netflix and Winamp/Pandora and such....? I thought it was just a barely-functional OS on GTAB......I must be out of the loop...

Moving to Q&A
THIS THREAD IS NOW OBSOLETE.
Thanks to Tof37 we now have native camcorder support in CM10 and CM10.1 (JB 4.1 and 4.2.2 respectively). If you're on a ROM who's developer hasn't yet included the native support from CMx10 sources, you can still use this app.
Recording 640x480 res videos on ICS/JB with a 3rd party app
The application is called Videocam Illusion.
How to ajdust the app's settings:
Set the audio quality to 44.1KHz
Set the video resolution to 640x480
Set the video quality to 100 (other values work fine too, but I prefer this one)
What does this app actually do to make recording possible?
It uses mJPEG encoding (each frame is treated seperately as a JPEG picture) and outputs the video files in .mov format rather than using h264/MPEG encoding
Where's the catch?
Recorded videos can only be played back within the app because the Gallery app does not read .mov formats. You can also find the recorded video files on your SD card in the videocamillusion folder and play them anywhere else (PC) though.
Low framerate
Poor compression ratio
The app was tested and reported successfully working on:
FeraVolt's JB v2 ROM w/ FK v4
walker.cz's walkerlab JB 4.2.2
scritch's CMx10 JB 4.1 (CM10) w/ CMx10 kernel
scritch's CMx10 JB 4.2.2 (CM10.1)
Slimbean v4 w/ AminKernel P7005
However, it shouldn't have any reasons not to work on any other ICS/JB ROMs and/or kernels.
Many thanks to walker.cz who found the app. He's also working on a JB 4.2.2 ROM with many customizable features avaliable with the AROMA installer so make sure you check it out here in the x10 developement area.
It's not HD, but it's something.
Happy recording!
Man is this awesome....
Just tested and working fine Fera's JB V2.

Hello everyone
I think most of you know about video recording issue in all KK+ ROMs
I'm trying to fix this bug ,but first let me tell you more about the problem and what I'm trying to do ...
Samsung uses PV/OpenCore codecs in stock ROM ... those codecs are from GingerBread era and they are actually not a hardware codecs they are just a software codecs which means when you try to record a video the hardware is not used and the CPU is used instead .
Those codecs are not used any more in KK+ ROMs ,which means that video recording won't work any more and we have some issues like green bar and lags while playing videos .
So I came up with 2 ideas to fix that Issue . First one is to build a camera app which uses an external video encoders to record videos using this way will make video recording videos work in all KK+ ROMs ,but I think we will still have an issue with other apps like What'sApp,line, etc ... as those apps will use video encoders included with system it self . so that takes us to second idea, I will try to add those software codec used in stock ROM to all KK+ ROMs and make system use those codec as default codecs ,which means video recording will works in all apps ...
The first idea is a little bit easier as all I need to use an open source app like OpenCamera and make it use an external video encoder and build it right away . In contrast the second idea is a bit harder as I need to build OpenCore codecs and make StageFright use it I also will have to build each ROM we have again .
At the moment I'm trying second idea and here's what I get :
I work on SlimKat as I have it source on my PC and it's bit good to go with .so I tried to build OpenCore and I failed as it will need a lot of edits to make it build on SlimKat source so I used prebuilt OpenCore bloobs from stock ROM and it seems like those codecs are working so I tried to play videos on YouTube and they are working smoothly, I also didn't faced green bar issue, even though I don't know if I integrated those codecs right or wrong as there's not any clear guide about it and some guides are before GingerBread era hence I need a lot of testers, reporters and help from each dev saw this thread So now I want you to download SlimKat ROM and do all your kind of tests .
Downloads :
ROM : SlimKat .
Bugs : Video recording is still broken so I will need to work more an camera app it self .
Notes :
kernel is over clocked to 1200 MHZ .
You need to flash WIFI hotspot fix to get it working (download in attachments) .
Download : Here .

Yaa I guess so it's a software encoder app(you can also try any other app like it)
that's why video was recording in it..even though it was laggy @LahKeda
I saw a guy posting on cm 13 thread about video fix
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-gio/development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-28-03-2015-t3066771
As you said those codecs are from GB era the phone (Samsung Gio) is from that era itself with worse specs then our's but they were able to fix video recording on cm11
So my thoughts even our can also be fixed:fingers-crossed:
Interesting. Wish we could solve this issue.

slimkat doesn't have a native dual sim support .
@LahKeda
We are always ready to help...:highfive:
Also can you pull the system ui from slimkat and upload it here????
I would appreciate your help
I accidentally replaced it with some other one and I don't have a pretty strong internet connection to download the whole slimkat...

So I tried this app that lets you select a video codecs

Yet the issue remains the same
Am I doing something wrong?
By the way, this one is a great rom. So smooth and no reboots. The only issue that I faced is that sometimes the UI becomes unresponsive. But it comes back to normal in just two seconds. And while using the browser, sometimes it freezes. Even the the animation of the web page continue to play with no lag.

Video playing is still having issues. I can't play videos on Facebook messenger. It always returns an error saying it can't play that. Videos on the browser works almost fine except YouTube. Videos on Facebook lite have the green bar issue. Screenshot http://m.imgur.com/kk69GhP,Zb1quxE,3kLvDDE
By the way which app lets you record videos?
