I own skullcandy inc'd 2 with mic
My mic has loose comnectn so it doesnt work but the left n right earpieces are both working perfectly...
But whenever I plug my earphones it says that accesory microphone n buttons not available n the sound comes from back speaker...in htc n samsung I used my earphones n they were working perfectly as EARPHONES(the mic not working but its ok)
Even in ipods n music players my earphones are working
So can it be done in sony xperia U too that even though the mic is not working I can still use my headsets as just earphones???
Anyone who knowd how to write such script plss help me ill b very much thankful to u..
I have a similar issue with my XU. Whenever I try connecting it to my amplifier to have a base when I play guitar, on stock ROMs it gives me the same error (microphone and buttons not available) and plays through the speaker, while on CM9/10/10.1/11 it just plays through the speaker, without giving any errors. I tested the cable with my Nexus 7 and it works, so it's a software problem. The cable is a male-to-male 3.5mm and it has 3 "levels" on the two ends, like the headsets with a microphone. Can anyone sort this out?

I need headset with microphone.
I borrowed a few headsets to test them out.
One USB headset worked but it was inconvenient since it was wired.
One Bluetooth headset worked only with the speakers, the microphone just would not work on the G Tab (it worked on the desktop).
Can you recommend a Bluetooth headset that just works with the setup?
I tried several SONY and Motorola BT headsets and all were working fine except when you disconnect BT you have to reboot to get audio routed back to speakers.
(No other remedy worked)

Did the microphone work in all these cases?
Or did you have to do something special to get it to work?
Please provide a few more details

Which Android release, which ROM (Vegan?), which application (sipDroid, sound recorder, etc), and did headset microphone work (as opposed to built-in mike)?
Appreciate your feedback.
Hi,
I have the same issue with the original ROM (3588). It looks like original firmware does not support Bluetooth headsets with microphone it just support Bluetooth headphones without microphone. Can some one help with it? Or any other custom ROM supports Bluetooth microphone?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, i have the BH-214 Nokia headset and i connect the default earphones that brings the x10 mini pro and music sounds good, control of music works wonderfull but... the mic don't work, if i connect the earphones direct to the phone the mic seems to work normaly, but if the nokia headset is paired and put the earphones in, the mic simply don't work is this normal some problem of incompatibility?

I think its just a problem of the phone prioritising the Bluetooth headset over the plugged in one, so basicaly its 'listening' on the bluetooth headset. or well, I could be wrong.
where you using the stock headset from the phone? it got four segments on the 3.5mm jack, instead of the three usually found in standard earphones.
if that is the case, SE think is using a different configuration with the segments (with the last segment, near the plug is the ground), or something to that effect, rendering the headset incompatible with nokias.
if the bluetooth you got has a mic on it, then just grab an earphone and use it with the bluetooth you got.
I'm using Nokia BH 104 with xperia mini without any probs.
Have u checked ur headset for proper functionality with othet phones? Might be a prob with the accessory

Hi,
I just got my pair of UE600vi earbuds with a mic and in-line controller.
Everything works as expected (so no volume control), but what I didn't expect was that the built-in mic doesn't seem to work properly. When the cable is plugged in properly I get audio in a call, but the person on the other side of the line says he can't hear anything.. However, if I take the plug out a bit so that one black ring is out of the plug the mic seems to work,(probably because the mic is disabled and it uses the phone mic..) but I only get audio to one earbud.
I contacted Logitech which said that they can do nothing and that it's Android's problem.. However some people say that they've had no problems with apple-optimized headsets apart from the volume buttons.
Is there a way to force compatibility?

Same here, I've got a great sounding AKG K328 headset on an Asus Fonepad (Android 4.1.2). Everything is working fine, I can assign actions to the middle button, I can use the button to answer a call, but the microphone is not working at all
Judging from the symbol in the Status bar, the headset is only recognized as a headphone (without mic). The mic is working on an iphone, though.
Any ideas?
Hi my friends, today I need your help...
my car (audi a3) is complete of OEM's bluetooth handfree with audio quality more better of HU bluetooth...
my question are, is possible to connect oem audio to HU to aux in???
NOW if I use original oem bt all work fine ,but i can't hear voice incoming, maybe miss a connection from oem bt to HU
i link the original electric scheme...i found a way to bring voice call from original bt and connect to HU aux in....
thanks in advance
anyone help me.....
I try to connect original audi sound output to HU audio input (rca) (like a photo below), but i ear only a noise.... can't find the audio signal of original audi bluethoot... any ideas my friends?
I would be interested to know if this can be done.
i have same problem
know you whic is the mute connector
in the our head units?
I solved the first part of problem:
In the picture below can see the original electric scheme of original Audi radio (concert III) , there are 2 pin "tel+" and "tel-" ... Simply connect tel+ to hu audio in left and tel- to audio in right.... All work!!!!!
Now the problem are
1- can I use the "mute " cable ( from original Audi connector ) to switch HU to avin when there are a call incoming??
2- the " mode" button on my steering wheel at the same time switch input from HU and conctacs from Audi oem Bluetooth.... Can I change the mode button with another button (example the voice command button now is unused in my steering wheel...) ??
Is very important to find a fast way to switch HU to AVIN when there are a call incoming!!!
Thanks

Sorry to resurrect a very old post, I'm sure the OP has long since changed his vehicle but it may be of use to some current owners.
A much simpler and logical solution would be to use a Parrot SOT cable and splice in the Tel+, Tel-, plus Mute cables from the redundant red 10 pin ISO Audi connector, since these work in the same way and you would get full muting and call audio without any app switching.
It is probably best to code out the Audi lady voice activation with VCDS. If you use Android Auto Google Assistant should work to place the call better. You get the added benefit of full DIS display (for phone only) and answer/hang up on the steering wheel too. Whether the bluetooth quality is better I am not sure, since these Audi bluetooth phone preps are pretty old now - I have the full prep in my car and before I installed an Xtrons I remember it working well with good call quality but the lady didn't hear too good at times.
after updated to android pie throug ota, i can not record or send voice message through the bluetooth headphone, iam using airpod, i tried with couple of other bluetooth headphone too, all having the same problem,
when iam using whatsapp or calling with thirdparty apps like imo with bluetooth headphone, the phone' internal mic is working instead of headphone's mic , the other end could hear my voice,
but
if i hold and close the phone's internal mic hole with my finger the other end could not hear my voice,
i already factory reset my phone twice, but still having the issue,

s9 plus with android pie?
Yes. Tried updating firmware on headphones but it didn't help.
anybody a solution?
I have an S9+ running Android 10. I have Beats Ur Beats 3 wired ear buds and the mic doesn't work on those either. It used to when I first got the phone when it had Oreo on it. I miss that feature as I used it all the time. I'm guessing there is no fix in the near future.
