There was an article about a new android feature that will help identify misbehaving apps that uses a lot of resources in the background, or maybe it was some kind of rating that will be added to each app on the play store. I remember facebook app was mentioned there, but i cant find this article.
It was published within the last 4 months.
Anyone remember such article or know this feature?

My company is looking to port our recently created iOS app to android. The app is basically a simple pdf viewer with a search feature.
Here is the app store link
itunes.apple.com/us/app/drager-gas-detection/id470558281?mt=8
The current developer has been a little slow while creating the iOS app, so we are considering looking at another developer. The estimated hours they quoted also seems a little long to me, but I'm not sure if that is the case.
Approximately how long would it take a developer to create an Android version of this app?

Hi,
I doubt that I'm the first one to think about this but I couldn't find anything useful trying to search for it, so here is what I'm looking for:
Is there an app that I can use to share a number of apps I installed on a webpage including QR-codes, GPlay-links, short descriptions etc.? The apps I know of mostly share text only and/or links but none I found allow me to generate a webpage (or use a site for this) which has all the info in a neat, organized way so that my friends can read the descriptions and decide which apps to download from there.
AppBrain's API has an app widget that would be somewhat fitting but 1) there is no app to automatically create those based on a list of apps on your phone and 2) it requires people to use AppBrain, which some people don't like.
Basically, I'd like to have it created automatically and look like the ones used by Android Police (but with links to Play-Store only and no need for ratings)
Anyone know an app like that?
TIA

Since I got no replies, I went ahead and put together a crude PHP script to convert a list containing Market/Play-links to a webpage and to host that list on PasteHTML.com in case you want to share it with someone (since I don't have the hosting for that). If you are interested, you can check it out here (sorry if it's slow, it's running on my home server). I'm still looking for an app that could do this though but for now this is better than nothing
Hey all! So I've been looking all over forums and the internet searching for an app that similarly functions to the app/website for the wearedata ad campaign made by ubisoft for watchdogs. However, I can't find any apps that do the same or similar!
What I'm looking for is an app that aggregates all social media posts and places them on a map (simlarly to what the wearedata website does) although differently to that have it so that you can look anywhere on the rather than being limited. Anyone know an app that can do this?
Just find it interesting and I like nose'ing around xD
I'm using a Nexus 4 and trying to get rid of all the Google tracking services and their built-in Android background communications with Google servers. I have already searched the internet and found a few articles about this, however most of them were outdated or didn't answer my questions.
I do like the look and feel of stock Android, which is why I would probably go for CyanogenMod for this. In an optimal world, it would retain its current look and feel, but without communicating with Google.
My questions that I currently have pretty much are as follows (when using CyanogenMod):
- is it possible to keep using SOME Play store / stock apps but taking their permission to send information to Google? For example, I still want to use whatsapp and I doubt I can find it in the F-Droid store, or perhaps i like the Google camera app, and so on
- is it possible to turn off all Google tracking services (obvious things such as Google Now, but also the less obvious, like the constant hidden communications with Google servers) using CyanogenMod?
Hello
I'm not a developer but I'm in the process of creating specifications to find a freelance developer to create an app that will be on the Play Store. =)
I'd like to have your insight to see if my application is "possible" regarding the compatibility of various smartphones under Android BUT ALSO regarding the rules imposed by Google for an application to be available on the Play Store.
I want to make an app where you enter the URL of a website, the app will crawl (background task) the site that can have 10,000 pages for example. And the app checks if there are dead links on the site (404 pages, sites that are no longer available etc.).
The app must therefore visit all the pages of the site entered by the app user, with his IP and from his device. It must make all these requests in the background throughout the day.
Does this seem possible ?
Does this sound acceptable to the Play Store rules ?
Do you think it's feasible on the vast majority of Android smartphone models in the world (Nokia, Oppo, Samsung...) ?
Thanks a lot for your help anyway
