Aluminum cover for XZU that make it like an iPhone - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Found this case online. However these guys are selling it wholesale.
http://m.dhgate.com/product/bumper-metal-frame-case-for-sony-xperia-z/172094564.html#pd-105
I don't know if someone else is retailing it online. I used the similar case for my Note 2 and 3. the build was good and also made my phones more appealing.

I like that. Does it affect the signal strength like the other aluminum bumpets do?
Sent from my C6833 using Tapatalk

I got one. It looks nice but adds considerable weight. It also impacts signal strength and the ports are difficult to access.

Not sure if you were interested in bumpers or not but these are pretty slick. Expensive but great quality. No issues with reception for me though a couple people have posted in the international Note thread about small hits.
As far as I can tell should work with I717.

No, the fact the antennae was on the bottom of the phone where you normally held it was why they switched the design. And plastic was just cheaper and more durable than the soft metal they were originally using. The metal did not affect reception. I used to own it

Replacement Back

Does any one know where to get a replacement back mine broke in my pocket today, I'd like to get a replacement that isn't glass, even if I have to sacrifice the NFC antenna.

Only ones I've seen are the glass type on eBay ranging $100-$300
I'm in need of one too, mine broke a while ago and is progressively getting worse

That's what I was afraid of. Think we could find someone with a very precise CNC machine to make us new ones for that much out of something like aluminum?

Awful idea. Remember iPhone antenna gate?
Sent via LG E970 with houstonn aokp 4.2.2
Right. But as far as I know only the NFC antenna is in the back not the GSM/LTE antenna so shouldn't it be fine? I'd at least try it for $50 bucks. Also if the metal would completely block the signal how does the HTC one get service?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium HD app
Because it's not all metal. There are little parts of it that aren't, and that's where the antennae are.
If you can't find a replacement back, maybe best case would be putting this on the back http://www.bodyguardz.com/armor-carbon-fiber-lg-optimus-g-p970.html to at least prevent it from getting worse. It should prevent pieces from falling off and it'll cover it up and make it look better (at least in theory).

I bought my replacement from the same seller (but the price was lower then). I took it to a screen/case repair stand at the mall and they installed in less than 10 minutes.

Aluminum Case with rear cutout - Love It!!!

So I've been looking around for an aluminum protective case for my note 3 since it came home. As most of you have heard from others, the full aluminum cases despite the protection, suffer from drastic signal loss. I figured I couldn't go wrong with an aluminum bumper and bought two awesome looking bumpers off ebay. One is a gorgeous solid aluminum bumper with no hole for mic but really nicely made and a thin aluminum bumper with all openings. The biggest drawback of both of these bumpers is that there is no camera protection. As all of you have noticed the rear camera is raised a bit, which makes these bumpers a no go if your laying it down on rear. I saw a full protective case on Ebay that was composed of three pieces : aluminum frame, silicone style case and aluminum rear with a cutout. I went ahead and ordered for a measly $14 and some change, thinking it wouldn't be a big loss. My package arrived today from Hong Kong and I couldn't be happier. I absolutely love it. It is the exact look and feel I wanted. For those who want a nice solid aluminum case with no signal loss I recommend you get one. I hardly write stuff on here but I felt compelled to share my experience.

I would think nfc/wireless charging. A bit too industrial looking for me, but it all depends on the eye of the beholder. Definitely unique though.

I'm pretty sure its for NFC as well. Plus it helps with reception as opposed to solid rear cases with affect reception. Personally I'd like to see someone step it up and make some premium CNC cut luxury cases lime they make for iphones with nicely made cut outs in rear. I reached out to three of those companies today , like MeeJoJo and 2 of them said only iphones and s4 's.
These are just some cnc cases for iphone 5s that I'd like to see for our phones.
I think that case is ugly and weird looking. I think it makes the phone look like a plain block of metal. Maybe it would look better if it was black anodized aluminum.

Had something similar for my previous Note 2. These metal cases tend to cause the phone signal to degrade. Hope you guys won't experience that problem.

Yes. About the same grippyness as the back itself just different material. And a bear motion bumper. Still haven't dropped my phone.

I don't like skinomi protectors on anything with a pen input. It just doesn't slide well. Back protection, sure. Sides, sure. Screen? No way.
The only one I did like with the pen input was the HTC view and that had a different stylus.
I've had skinomi for my note 10, note 8, and a bunch of phones. They work well on the phones (S4, s3, droid razr etc) but with the s-pen it felt terrible. Constantly dragging and digging into the skin. Just not an enjoyable experience.
When I initially installed the protector on my note 10, I gave it two days to settle before using it, and it wasn't enough. I had to leave the thing sit for over a week before it was acceptable and that's not something I have the luxury of doing with my phones. I had even contacted customer support and they were the ones to suggest letting it sit for at least a week before using.
I could assume it was just the amount of solution used, but I've used skinomi products enough to know what I'm doing and I won't waste my time using them for anything with pen input now.
I bought 2 of the skinomi clear ones during the sale. Thanks for the fyi. I just installed the sides and the back one for the camera and use a tempered glass for the front. So far I like it and it gives the phone better side grip. Although I probably wouldn't have bought it if it was regular price however. It would be nice if they just sold the sides and the camera one separately.

Undoubtably. It's a lesson ASUS learned the hard way with their TF201...
Especially considering this is the description:
"Metal casing not only beautiful, but also has to reduce radiation. Therefore, it would have some interference signals. At weak signal area, may interfere with your cell phone use. However, in strong signal areas do not have any problems. If you mind, please buy with caution. I do not accept interference problems due to signal the negative feedback. Thank you for understanding."
It's like hearing Mark Rutte attempting to speak English, but what I can make out from that is that in weak-signal areas, you've basically got yourself a very expensive paperweight.
It does look really awesome, particularly the black one.
I like it except for the giant hinge on the side.
I want to rock that case so bad, but I simply cannot sacrifice signal.

I have one (silver) on the way from China, no idea when it will arrive.
If some of you are thinking about it, search ebay for "Iron man aluminum" for some better prices than I paid on Etsy.
I can sacrifice a little signal for something cool.

Got it this week but have been travelling so haven't had much of a chance to mess with it. Front is metal, back and sides are plastic, so I don't think there is going to be an interference issue. I put the phone in it for a few minutes and didn't notice a big difference in signal.
Case is pretty bulky and heavy, but I can guarantee it will stand out in a crowd!
