I have used i9300 for more than 1 year. I have this no signal problem for more than 1 year,too. Could you help me to solve it? Here are the details:
1. I have bought this phone on internet. I believe it is an European phone with lock. But when i got, it had signal with Samsung official ROM.
2. Then i tried to flash some Samsung official ROMs from forums, i found there was no signal. So i had to go to a store to fix it. The guy in the store used a machine to fix my phone. Maybe he had changed my IMEI. Anyway,after that, the phone is OK to flash Samsung official ROMs with normal signal.
3. When i tried to flash some other custom ROMs, like CM, AOKP, Temasek, no signal.But when i flashed back to Samsung official ROMs,signal was still OK.
One thing more,about a few months ago, i flashed some Temasek and CM ROMs, some of them were OK with signal.But each time i reboot my phone, it would take a long time(range from 3 minutes to 1 hour) to recover the signal.
so,could you help me to find out how to solve it?

Start with the sticky threads in general forum. Usual problem is efs damaged, which can't be fixed but there are some ways to work around with patched modems etc. You'll have to work it out for yourself as there is no easy fix.

HI people.
I bought an S3 Recently with the modem i9300 XXEMG4
- I wan't too install some roms, based on another modem base band and have trouble with that.
I only install 2 roms.
- PardusHD - And have to restore the modem base files (EFS) to work
-NeatROM.
This too roms i cn install and work with them, but if i install any rom based on CM 10.1-10.2 i can´t have any network service...
- What can i do the get read of this anoying problem???

your imei and serial number okay after flashing cm roms?
Okay, hundreds of posts like these, I know.
But I unrooted my GS3 today (it was on the MIUI V5 V1.2 iHackers ROM) and went to the default Stock ROM from sammobile.
I think I may have used the wrong one, since now I have the no signal error. (By this I mean it was [I9300XXEMC3_I9300NEEEMC1_I9300XXEMB6_HOME.tar.md5]
I have the 0049**** IMEI error.
And I can only guess that wasn't right.
What choices do I have now?
Could I install the correct stock rom, perform the 4.3 update or what?
The obvious guesses are that it is to do with either: MIUI (and if it is, should I just reinstall it?) or the stock ROM being wrong (which I don't know if it is)
Basically I didn't do an EFS backup (was never actually told to in any of the threads I visited, sadly) and have basically no way of reverting it.
If all else fails, would Three repair it for me?

Okay, so it wasn't the stock ROMs fault.
Please we do not need these identical posts day after day .
Read the faqs and guides its all posted .
No EFS backup you pay for a service repair .
Ask 3 they will say yes or no

Like many, I am extremely disappointed with Samsung's attempt to bring 4.3 to the S3 and am on the verge of switching to CM 10.2 from a stock ROM. The ROM is rooted with a yank555 kernel and philZ recovery.
However, upon reading this forum; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531221 and several others like it, I realised I may or may not run into an EFS or no network issue. I have the stable 10.2 and 4.3 Gapps ready to install via ROM Installer.
Is it only if the android version is downgraded that any form of EFS error could occur? As 10.2 is based off 4.3, I thought it would work fine and flash as it did when I ran stock 4.1.2 but wanted to double check.

Hi guys,
I have three questions about Pacman ROM 4.3:
- I have noticed the camera's quality is not so good and clear as the stock rom camera.
Is there anything i can do to increase the quality?
-Because i have missed the touchwiz interface can i do something(flash zip or install apk or anything else) to have touchwiz interface?
- Can i downgrade my phone to Android Revolution v29.0 (4.1.2) without lose my imei and sn?
The most important question is the third.

I saw these posts before writing the question and i tried this method and it worked but only for stock rom 4.1.2. When i flashed the Android Revolution 29.0 i lost the network signal and my imei, i restore it, but the sn was 000000 and then i flashed the patched modem but the imei,baseband and sn were lost...all turned unknown
Recently, I have a rooted Note 2 , which is the phone became not registered on network after updating 5.1.1.
I've returned to 4.1.2 for flashing Ariza Patch and BusyBox but nothing seems to work.
I did flash GT-N7100 Model ND3 for fixing it and I've tried a few other sims from different network, but it doesn't work either
This is the first time I've used Android OS so that it's little bit difficult for newbie as me

Check you IMEI in device settings. This sometimes can be wiped out by flashing roms, that is the reason it is posted to back up your efs folder. Without a backup you may end up having to send it in for a new board.
