I bought an S3 Recently with the modem i9300 XXEMG4
- I wan't too install some roms, based on another modem base band and have trouble with that.
I only install 2 roms.
- PardusHD - And have to restore the modem base files (EFS) to work
-NeatROM.
This too roms i cn install and work with them, but if i install any rom based on CM 10.1-10.2 i can´t have any network service...
- What can i do the get read of this anoying problem???

Hello,everyone
I have used i9300 for more than 1 year. I have this no signal problem for more than 1 year,too. Could you help me to solve it? Here are the details:
1. I have bought this phone on internet. I believe it is an European phone with lock. But when i got, it had signal with Samsung official ROM.
2. Then i tried to flash some Samsung official ROMs from forums, i found there was no signal. So i had to go to a store to fix it. The guy in the store used a machine to fix my phone. Maybe he had changed my IMEI. Anyway,after that, the phone is OK to flash Samsung official ROMs with normal signal.
3. When i tried to flash some other custom ROMs, like CM, AOKP, Temasek, no signal.But when i flashed back to Samsung official ROMs,signal was still OK.
One thing more,about a few months ago, i flashed some Temasek and CM ROMs, some of them were OK with signal.But each time i reboot my phone, it would take a long time(range from 3 minutes to 1 hour) to recover the signal.
so,could you help me to find out how to solve it?

Start with the sticky threads in general forum. Usual problem is efs damaged, which can't be fixed but there are some ways to work around with patched modems etc. You'll have to work it out for yourself as there is no easy fix.

Hello all, so right now im on slimbean 4.3 rom and was considering returning to stock 4.3 (mk6) jellybean update. I've read around the threads that there are rom which are prerooted and deodexed and can be flashed in cwm, but im not so sure about the modem part, as ive never changed my modem since purchasing the phone.

You need to read the custom rom description regarding modems some include a modem .
The rom you linked to says almost at the top of its introduction .

if i flash the modem which is included in the custom rom, will i have the no network, imei problem, or will it not bother my efs? i already backed up my efs and was planning to try out this 4.3 rom

Like many, I am extremely disappointed with Samsung's attempt to bring 4.3 to the S3 and am on the verge of switching to CM 10.2 from a stock ROM. The ROM is rooted with a yank555 kernel and philZ recovery.
However, upon reading this forum; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531221 and several others like it, I realised I may or may not run into an EFS or no network issue. I have the stable 10.2 and 4.3 Gapps ready to install via ROM Installer.
Is it only if the android version is downgraded that any form of EFS error could occur? As 10.2 is based off 4.3, I thought it would work fine and flash as it did when I ran stock 4.1.2 but wanted to double check.

I want you to know that i searched google and founded a lot of solutions but they doesn't solved my problem.
The problem is that I have sgs3 i9300 with stock 4.3 rom. Thats because I can't register on network with any other rom! All I want is to flash slimkat on my sgs3 but after I flash I cant make calls. I have a backup of my EFS, Tried to restore via k-tool - no luck, via odin - no luck. Tried DDEMG2 and XXDME4 modems, patched BUUGMJ3 modems and kernel, and XXUMK6 patch....all of them no luck. I get a proper IMEI sv1 or sv11.
Tried any solution I can found but no luck. Although other ROMS based aokp. Even those 4.3. I had only 1 luck with MIUI rom based 4..2.2/
So any help? Please! I cant live with stock laggy rom!

I have a similar problem. Can you give me the link for MIUI? It is stock or cm based? I want to try it.
