HTC does a really bad job with sources, some of us already know that.
Some things you might want to know
1- the One X+ Can not flash a custom rom with its boot loader locked, unless of course there an S OFF method, but that's a low possibility. In other words HTC in some cases takes its time to release a boot loader unlock method. Usually they do a good job with this. What they suck at is giving Kernel sources. We won't see a custom kernel until December if the device was released in October
2- Its hard to do ports based of sense, so development could go for the worst with very little to no source and playing around with sense is not really a walk in the park
The one x+ looks like a good device. Hopefully T Mobile picks it up over here in the US soon.
Just giving a heads up.
As previous One X great Devs found a way to move on development, sure X+ will have a lot of dev!
It's not a big improvement against the One X (international) though, but after the new Nexus will be a LG, I will maybe even buy this device as my next phone and will do some stuff for it..

Not so much.
"Wow, that didn't take long. Only hours after the HTC One X+ was unveiled officially, we now know where U.S. consumers will have the chance to get it from. AT&T just announced that it will be the exclusive U.S. carrier to offer the HTC One X+ this fall."

There's a whole series of them apparently. The HTC one looks the best. 1080p quad core s4 5 inch screen (12.7cm) and 2gb ram. Very similar specs to the lg one, but it'll have sense themes in the customization center and perhaps other interesting features.

LG is not that good name over on xda, as the support and software was crap. But most off times the hardware in Lg phones is damn nice and new tech so with google behind and no locked crap it might be a intressting phone.

So you're saying for someone like me who buys phones to slap CyanogenMod on, I should expect poor results with the One X+? I will avoid then.
However, does sharing Tegra 3 with the Nexus 7 benefit the One series any? Did the One X get helped by the Nexus 7? I see this kinda like the SGS1 phones getting benefit from the Nexus S sharing SoC. The SGS2 is totally screwed as you know as it still lacks hwcomposer and stuff for CM10.
Yes I could get a Nexus, but sometimes I happen to like the design of non nexus phones more. The One X/X+ are truly sexy phones to me, and as long as they're decent to develop for I'd jump in.

This could be possible but we are never sure, either way getting something like CM booting is only half the work, the real test is getting wifi, Bluetooth, GPS etc working without HTC releasing anything. The only way to get them working is work arounds. If you are a flashaholic that likes roms that are not based off stock then stay away.
If you like Sense then by all means get it
Yes totally screwed. Sammy can kiss my ***

As someone who has an HTC flyer I must say, It saddens my to hear that HTC hardware isn't an option.
HTC has some aesthetically pleasing hardware and sense itself can be pretty nice. The tablet just feels great in your hands, and has a nice screen..
It absolutely sucks that HTC lets themselves get held back by poor sources.. I'm "ok" with my tablet not having the most up to date version constantly.. I didn't sign a contract for it.. but, I really don't want a phone that I'm locked into having for 2 years to be left out for no real good reason.
Still, I'd kill to see a smooth running JB rom that is factory quality on my flyer.
Thanks for the warning.
I have a Sensation and if it wasn't for CM this thing would have been in the garbage. I'm hoping to pick up one of these and I'm sure development work for it will eventually come around. It needs some time.

I would've assumed there would have been more roms already. Only thing some what stopping me since I'm on a g nexus.

My thoughts exactly.
Anyone who actually spends time and does not just choose kitchen options and ask for donations spends at least that long if not longer.
There are a few who think kitchen = dev and crank them out in a few hours.
There actually is a ROM out currently, albeit just a stock debloated/deodexed stocker. Having this phone since launch and already overcoming a locked bootloader and having a rom is impressive for 5 days. It reassures me that this will be a quality dev phone. Rest assured

We had them out the first day for the Thunderbolt if memory serves
well I'm not entirely sure, but I'm assuming that the t-bolt had an unlocked bootloader and possibly S-off?
Regardless, you want more roms, compile one yourself. If you can't than lets just be thankful we're where we are now and just have some patients

From the look of things it is unlockable through HTC Dev. If not, I'm content enough with sense 5 that I would be okay with waiting until someone figures out an unlock method.
That being said, I'm not willing to part with my DNA for less than 300 bucks and the people of Craigslist are not cooperating so it may not come to that for a bit.

hallo guys.
need recommendation here about any roms for s-on vigor
prefer if it's a global ones, and about battery life which become common question other newbie users like me, honestly it doesn't matter although i need it too coz i like to try it one by one before deciding 2 main daily roms with decent batt life.
ohh yeah one thing since my rezound is still s-on, besides s-off only rom...can i flash other roms here without s-off specifically prerequisite, i mean i've taken a look some threads here that do not mention s-off only, may be i can flash it via recovery for the flashable zip and then flash the boot.img from the rom extraction so that it will boot up.
ok thanks for your attention guys

Best one right now "out of the box" for stability and battery life is probably Talon v1.0... Followed closely by CarbonROM. The would be my two daily driver choices at this time.

I'm impartial to Infection myself... And to answer your question, yes, just pull the boot.img and you should be able to load just about any rom.
The most stable roms are going to be the ones based off ice cream sandwhich though, since we don't have JB officially.

sorry if i get the wrong point, it means at least u ever success in getting gsm work in talon rom though just edge or never get the gsm can be enabled in talon?
honestly it' not a big problem for me if my rezound become cdma only (back to its nature ) coz gsm data connection is worse than the cdma in my country, it's for the first reason and the second one however i'm still need the gsm because that's my main gsm number so when it still in stock i use cdma and wifi only for internet and switch gsm yeah just for message and telephone for a while because i haven't decided to get nexus 4 or G2 for full internet functionality and other stuffs as my main gsm android phone #not a working phone number (pretty interesting promo price here for nexus 4 and G2 in my country :victory: ).
i've posted it at talon thread about my problem and wanna know other users's experience for gsm /global network, but it seems too quiet there.

I heard rumor of kit kat 4.4 becoming available for htc one max on Dec 25th. Any confirmation to this? If so, will we need to do anything to a rooted phone to get the oTA update?
where did you hear that?
and, generally speaking, if you want a factory update, you need to bring your phone back to its stock state..

Sounds like that article is for Asian versions of the phone.
Maybe the One Max will be different, but on my wife's rooted, unlocked bootloader, & s-off Galaxy Nexus, installing KitKat meant I could either lock on to 3G and make phone calls or obtain 4G lock only but couldn't do both. I stayed up half the night researching it, and apparently KitKat was having problems playing nice with custom rooted devices. I finally had to drop back to 4.3 for the Nexus to operate correctly.
Again your experience could be different, but at least do your research before going forward if/when we ever receive KitKat.
the OS you are on has nothing to do with it; the only thing that matters is whether you are on a GSM network, or a CDMA..

On the second thought, The HTC one already has 4.4 for the dev versions and i have not heard any complaints on root.
Everything I am reading says the One max, is essentially a One with a bigger screen and a fingerprint scanner. Will the One custom roms not work at all on the max? If all the hardware is essentially the same, why wouldn't it work with some ppi tweaks?
BTW, not sure about the Galaxy Nexus, but I have tried two different variations of Kit Kat 4.4 on my One, and both work flawless. I am running the Beanstalk variant now.

That being said, HTC tends to be a little more friendly to the modders. And seeing as there are a bunch of 4.4 roms on the one, I will be shocked if you all don't see a custom 4.4 within a couple of weeks.
Surely Max won't be long for KitKat since the normal One unlocked and dev had it already!
