So this is a bit backward, but I'm looking for a bluetooth or wifi remote I can clip to my belt tocontrol the music coming from my phone. I wear a sterile surgical gown when I work but would like to be able to advance a song or change volume through my gown. The iphone has such a remote but never seen android remote. Anyone?

More missing apps? Has anyone noticed that it is in the "all" app list in manage apps but it is not in the app drawer? Is this a trick or am I missing something?

Only if you didn't remove Voice Recorder from hide apps section of the default.xml file.
The car panel will come up automatically when you dock the phone in the iBolt car dock. I do not know of any other way to get it to launch.

Thats a neat sales trick
You can also get an app called car mode from the play store. It'll put the phone into dock mode without having to put it on the ibolt dock.

Thanks. I didn't even think to look in the market. I found something called "car mode control" which works perfectly.

Does anyone know why my car home app won't start up when car mode does? It was always automatic on my previous devices.

I've installed a 3rd party car home app, though.
Anyone?
I use Car Home Ultra @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDMsInNwaW5uaW5naGVhZC5jYXJob21lIl0 without any issues.

But does it start automatically when Car Mode starts, or do you have to do it manually?
It did on my thunderbolt, I don't have a car dock for the note yet.

Just purchased from woot. Great sound quality by the way.

Unfortunately only the voice control button works. Phone does not respond to volume control or track seek. Is this an iphone only feature or is there a hack out there somewhere? I am a fiber optics tech so my hands are usually busy. Its a pain digging the phone out everytime i want to change a track or adjust the volume.

The app "headset button controller" will cure that problem.

My wife recently bought me the stereoclip, I personally wouldn't have spent the money for it. When I pair with the device it is suppose to automatically launch the car app. But for some reason it never does. Does anyone here own one that can verify if it's just me doing something wrong? Appreciate any help!

To the best of my knowledge it works the other way around. If you dock the phone it will launch the car app which will then turn on Bluetooth and automatically pair the phone with the stereoclip as long as it's on. I believe you have to also enable that setting by tapping the notification panel on the bottom of car home when its launched.

Yes i get what your saying. But in my situation i have the dock but the connector on it broke so i cant launch the car app like that anymore. But like this video shows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q34yRuHXb8 the stereoclip is suppose to be able to launch the car app as well.

I've honestly never seen that feature listed anywhere. So unless someone else chimes in perhaps it is a feature of the One S or One line. Yes I know our phone is technically a One X. But there are no options for that under the car app, Bluetooth, nor is that listed as a feature in the manual for the stereoclip. Based on your setup unless you just buy a new dock you can just select the car app anytime you enter the vehicle and the rest will be automatic. Perhaps you can also try a task app that will launch car app once it connects to a Bluetooth device.

Thanks for the help. I'll hit you up with a thanks tomorrow i already hit my limit today. When you say task app are you referring to nfc tags?

That is one option. Create an NFC tag for your car or keychain that launches the car app. Since launching the car app turns on Bluetooth and that in turn pairs with the stereoclip that is the simplest solution. The other option is an app like Tasker that can set predefined tasks that you would like upon certain conditions.

Hey,
Anyone know a remote control app that'll allow me to control my Sony tv via ir? Can't seem to find any that actually works.

What about the one that comes with the tablet, watchon?
Sent from my SM-P600 using xda app-developers app
Hah, duh.. I guess the eyes are the first you get blind on.. Kind of thought that it required a set top box, but it works fine just selecting a random one during setup and removing it afterwards.. Nice with the remote in the status menu. Thanks

Try also Peel Smart Remote, works well.
