Non-hotfile link for any 4.1.2 rom - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on cm10.2 and I want to go back to stock 4.1.2. However, no matter where I look, all I find are download links to Hotfile, which has been shut down. So, does anyone know where I can download a stock Samsung 4.1.2 rom?

Here is Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean link for your device: http://rapidgator.net/file/58f5cdbd39e8aaa7c73e35f583fac245 Filename: TML-I9300XXEMH4-20131010152056.zip

Just an alternative link for you this is UK / Europe BTU MG4
UK (BTU) download
If you install this version it changes the format of the EFS directory so you can't use older versions of stock roms, they must be July 2013 onwards, read the link in my signature regarding IMIE / EFS issues before flashing

romhut.com has a collection. Free and fast.

Use this one. I tried CM 10.2 recently and decided to go back to the standard Samsung firmware and used the one above which is android 4.3. After you install the one above you can then get the newer 4.3 fix ota or through kies. Saves all the worry about EFS partitions.

Thanks for the replies. I'm downloading the MG4 rom now from mediafire.

Hi so I'm trying to get my galaxy s2 back on stock firmwares, I just changed to gingerbread XWKI4 but now it won't update via kies.
Does anyone know why that would happen? Or what the official unbranded UK version of ICS is?

If you know which stock firmware you want to go back to then you can just download the firmware from Intratech's thread and use odin to flash it. All the instructions and downloads can be found on this thread, read it carefully ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
If you want to flash official unbranded UK ICS release then use Faryaab's Thread and flash the I9100XWLP7 ROM using Odin, the ROM can be downloaded from the 2nd post. Again follow the insturctions in the first post carefully.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487
If you flash the unbranded UK ICS rom mentioned above and, as long as your phone is also unbranded, then Kies should detect your phone's firmware again. It stopped detecting it because you changed to a ROM that was not intended for your phone.

[Q] Help me upgrading Galaxy S2 to ICS

Hi Driodians,
I am using Galaxy SII(GT-I9100) in India, I purchased this phone as a second user in Jan-12 with Android 2.3.6 version, till date I never faced any issues...
Now I want to update to ICS-4. I don't know exactly whether current version is Stock ROM or Custom ROM..
Please help me the suitable ROM to update for below config of my phone
Note: My phone is not rooted
Android 2.3.6
PDA: I9100XWKK2
PHONE:I9100XXKI4
CSC: I9100XSAKK1
As per CSC, this Android GB 2.3.6 firmware belongs to Australia(XSA) region....still it works great here(in India) without network(any) issues..
1.Now help me which official ICS firmware to install and how to install, so I can run SII without any issues in India...
2. Also, I want to backup my installed Apps? Is it possible to restore them after upgrading to ICS
Let me know if you require more information .....
Help me Please ....!

Well, you could try and flash with Odin the right stock ROM. By saying right i am reffering to this : go to settings, about phone and check ur build number. That's the unique code of the stock ROMS, or signatures or w/e you should call them. Those need to match in order to work in India, because you said that its XSA. In my point of view you should flash the Indian Stock ROM just to make sure your out of problems.
If you don't know with Odin browse youtube, or i think you could try with Samsung Kies because the ICS Stock ROM has already been released =D
About backup up apps, well, i used titanium backup and it failed me every time. Use other apps such as Nandroid, Backup Master, Mobile Backup II etc. You said you are not rooted so the titanium works only with rooted phones.
Hope it helps, have fun
Thanks....But as per current 2.3.6 kernel version(KK2) I didn't find matching Indian firmware...only one matched was Australian region ICS kernal(LP8).
I got same firware update thrgh kies...got confused whether to go via kies or ODIN.
Forgot to mention earlier, my GB2.3.6 is Australian Generic(unbranded)

if u connect ur phone to KIES and if its showing an ICS update is available then u can give it a try
If you can manage to install your applications again, it's better to wipe before and after the update.
Also personally I don't like backup apps to go from GB to ics.
you can use the following to backup your apps & sms
Titanium Backup for backing up your apps
SMS backup & restore for backing up your sms
You can merge your contacts with google.. or you can export all your contacts to the external card (if you have any)..
You can flash the indian ICS version directly through ODIN. It's very simple, easy & clean.. KIES take a hell lot of time to update.. (that's y i HATE it)
or if you dont want to do that.. you can find an Indian GB firmware 2.3.6 Flash it.. through ODIN & than flash Indian ICS.. using ODIN..
You can download the same from many sites one most popular being www.sammobile.com or www.theandroidsoul.com
If you want to know how to flash using ODIN... you can visit - http://www.theandroidsoul.com/i9100...-update-for-i9100g-galaxy-s2-finally-arrives/
NOTE: The above link is just for your reference if you want to flash your ROM through ODIN.. The direct download link for ICS provided on that page is for "I9100G".. SO I AM NOT SURE WHETHER IT WILL WORK ON OUR INDIAN I9100 model.. You can download the I9100 Indian ICS Firmware from sammobile.com & use the above link to see the steps on how to flash it using ODIN.
Hurray ...! I upgraded to ICS 4.0.3 through OTA Yesterday
No Issues ...No Conflicts , downloaded Installer Package in 30 mins and Installation took 10 mins.
Installer optimized my apps ... All apps are working fine ...... NO need to wipe the data(factory Reset)
If u got ICS update via OTA for your Galaxy SII, then it is the best & simplest way to update your device...

[Q] How do I know what update to flash to from Sammobile?

I'm not new to this, been flashing roms since 2010. I'm running rooted ELK4 4.1.2. i want to flash the latest update from Samung, the official 4.1.2, yes I know I will lose root, I'm fine with that. I already did triangle away to prepare to go stock. Now, I bought the I9300 off amazon, so I know not of where it came from. How do I know what version of 4.1.2 to download from sammobile? Hope it's not a stupid question, because I looked for 2 days and couldn't find and answer.

I think you can flash whichever stock rom you want...why not?I mean you can flash custom ROMs with CSC ELLA without the stock ones being available in your country. The only issue which you have is unavailable OTA updates(with custom ROMs which is obvious )..So I think you should flash tha latest stock ROM available in YOUR country from sammobile.Anyway you can find s3's country by giving its IMEI number to your local samsung delegation. And you could ask them too in order to be sure.
there is no american stock rom for the I9300 on sammobile

You didnt mention you're from America..You can't find it cause I9300 is not available there I think. As I said before I think that you can flash wichever stock for I9300 model but I'm not sure so you can either wait for another answer or ask your local samsung delegation.

[q] imei lost after unroot

Hello Guys. I went into a bit trouble here...
I have Samsung S3 for more than 1 year, and I already flashing it with custom ROM without proper backup (foolish yeah i know)...
And now, I want to return to my official stock rom (unroot). Since i am from Indonesia, I found that the latest firmware my country has from S3 is 4.1.2 (from samsung-updates and sammobile websites) like this :
GT-I9300 Galaxy S III
PDA: I9300XXEMF6
CSC: I9300OLBEMF3
MODEM: I9300DXEMB1
Added: 2013-07-23
I reset the binary counter with triangle away and unroot it with mobile odin, but the problem is my imei was like "0049...../1" and I cannot make any calls or sms (not registered from network).
After reading a bunch of threads, i found the solution was to root it back again and install modem XXEMG4...
Is there anything I could do to have a working unroot phone? like using official stock rom from other country perhaps?
cheers
Yes it is the Modem problem. And for heaven's sake as soon as you root make a backup and backup your efs partition as well before you get into a bigger mess. Flash a stock rom that has the modem MG4 or flash a 4.3 rom of any country it hardly matters.
If i unroot it with a 4.3 rom from any country, then can i update through option "software update" or should i flash it again if there is any update in the future?
Thanks for the explanation!

no i dont think...but you can try by KIES..that may be possible..but some users have reported that kies also doesnt work for them..but you always have ODIN to flash firmware of other country or any your country whenevr it comes..
:good:
So i still have to root it?
Root doesn't matter, you cannot use the firmware of modem for your country as it is efs v1 and you didn't take a backup before you changed to v2.
There is no way back, you'll just have to wait for 4.3 to be released in your country if you want stock and unmodified status again.

Can't update Galaxy S2 I9100 to 4.1.2 through OTA, please help!

Hi, I was given a Galaxy S2 I9100 with baseband version I9100BOKJ1 T-mobile that has android 2.3.5 installed.
So, I wanted to update it to 4.1.2 through OTA but it says that there are no updates available, what are my options?
Can I just install an official 4.1.2 stock rom through odin? If so, what 4.1.2 stock ROM is compatible with this phone? Thanks!
Yes, you can flash a 4.1.2 stock ROM via Odin. There are plenty of stock ROMs on the internet for our device, most of them are on sammobile.com, but you need to sign in to use it. A simple Google search will show its results. Try to find a ROM matching to your region/carrier.
Think about making a backup of your baseband. There are guides on the internet. If you get big problems with GPS or signal strength with the new ROM, you can flash it back. Some people report the stock baseband solves GPS and signal issues, nevertheless it didn't change anything for me when I tried around switching basebands.
Hope this helps.

Some regions didn't get JB update at all. You can flash your phone using odin.
Go to below link find a none carrier firmware download and flash.
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9100
My current rom is xwlsw.
And don't try AOSP stock is always the best.
