Failed to upgrade firmware i9205 - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Hi everyone
I tried to upgrade using odin but forgot to enable usb debugging and upgrade failed.
Now I have only download mode and odin is asking me for PIT file.
I have searched but canno`t find pit file anywhere - probably because it doesen`t exist
I need some help please, what can I do?
BTW, since hot file is down I don`t know where to get original firmware and if I get it, will it help since I I`m running in circles with this pit file request from odin..

SOLVED!!!
I didn't have recovery no matter what combination of buttons I pressed. Only thing I had was message from download mode that upgrade failed and that I need to connect to Kies for emergency recovery!
That's what I did,
Downloaded Kies and connected my phone, tried to upgrade firmware and after inputting my model and serial number it downloaded original firmware that came with the phone and Kies resolved the whole problem!
I was worried that it might not work because I was rooted and had custom recovery installed before the problem but the process took about 40min to complete and all my apps and settings were saved!
+1 for Samsung Kies
I hope that someone will benefit from this.

[Q] The parameter is incorrect

Hi there!
I have a Samsung galaxy sIII I was on stock firmware and i followed "I followed Chainfires guide to install ROOT and CWM all went well until I tried to connect to Samsung kies to do a firmware update where it kept saying that the current mode is not supported go to settings> and turn off debugging, so I did that and it still came up with not supported.. so I then decided it was because of the root. So I have downloaded I9300XXALF2 bought the triangle away app and then upgraded via odin, that was successful fresh phone unrooted all back to official. but still it would not connect to kies so I tried to flash it back to the stock firmware I9300XXALE8 and odin says "The parameter is incorrect" and will not let me
I have just found another problem too! When i dial *#1234* it says my CSC is unknown, so I dial *#272*IMEINumber# and it comes up with "BTU" but will not let me select it, It says " must be THREE chars?..
I need some serious help guys please!! I am currently downloading I9300XXALF6 to see if that will solve anything. Im begging that someone can help me with this?? I have looked at other questions over this forum and Google but none seem to answer this. please redirect me if anyone knows where the answer is. Thanks for any help
I'm having this same Issue.
I download a stock firmware from SamMobile (http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8&view=4791) and when i try to flash, Odim says "Incorrect Paraeter".
What to do?
anyone?? I am having the same problem.
you need to remove the ".md5" at the end of the name of the ROM file.
Your ROM file supposed to end with ".tar", not ".md5", that's why ODIN have error.

[Q] softed bricked

Ok so I was a moron and re-partitioned my Samsung galaxy s2.
After attempting to fix it. I have had no luck.
I need the .pit file for the xwlp8 version can any1 help me out please?
everywhere I have searched. just say don't do it. But i cant find the file.
Please some1 help me.
I can get to download mode. But can not access recovery mode.
I have also tried to just install the original PDA file, But that did not help.
I have tried a different .pit file. I believe it was the 4.1.1 and that did not work either.
I have tried to find an Australian .pit file and have had no success.
Could someone please help me find a way to restore the phone back. Even if I have to update to 4.1.1 or downgrade to gingerbread. And if so can you link me up with a tutorial on doing so please?
p.s I am guessing a soft brick is where you see a white logo with a computer and phone trying to link. Or the phone hangs at samsung logo with yellow triangle below.

nevermind, happened to be the pc I was using for the operation of odin. When using odin it would fail and go red, But once trying the flash on my laptop I had no problems. Flashed and back to normal. Yeppie now to beta test 4.1 ^_^

[Q] Handy suddenly in bootloop. No flashing with odin possible. Now yellow triangle.

Hello,
I read a lot of threads but nothing worked and now I just want to now if my handy is dead! I hope you can give me some information. Maybe some solutions.
Here is my actual situation:
On day my handy was turned off. I tried to turn it on but it keeps in a bootloop. Only the first GT-!9100 was seen and it restarts.
I took out the battery and started it again. Then it booted until the message "App 1 of 1 will be optimized". I waited a long time (about 2 hours) and nothing happend. I took out the battery and tried to boot again. Same problem like at the beginning - again bootloop.
Then I tried to get in recovery mode. It worked! I wiped the cache and restartet my handy. But again bootloop. Now I couldn't get into recovery mode. The droid was lying with a red triangle and my handy restartet automatically. So I tried the download mode. It worked! I downloaded from sammobile the actual firmware I9100XWLSD_I9100DBTLS7_DBT. I tried to flash it with odin v3 1.85 over the PDA button. I connected the handy with odin it tells me that he found my handy and I started to flash. It stucks at cache.img. I waited over night. Nothing happend. Still stucking on cache.img. I took my battery out an dwhen I put it back an started may handy I get now the yellow triangle "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
So tried another one with three parts and PIT. In this time with re-partition in odin. But same procedure. I stucked at cache.img.
I still have the yellow triangle and I only can get into download mode.
Then I heard from soft/hard brick problem. I also tried the solution with only flashing the PIT. But no success
So I tried a custom kernel Clockwork Mode Recovery (GT-I9100_JB_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.2.9.tar) to get in recovery mode back. I tried to flash but it stuicks again at "NAND write". I waited again. Nothing happend. So I restarted my handy with tooking out the battery and putting it back again. But in download mode I see that my handy has a custom binary! So it worked. But I can't get into recovery mode of Clockwork
I also tried CF-Root. Here the same problem!
What's wrong with my handy? Is it broken? I've heard maybe I have to re-partition my hand over adb but I found nothing.
One thing is that for half a year I had a problem with my internal SD. It could not mount. After a update of the firmware (luckiely there was a new one!) over OTA it worked again. Maybe I have really a problem with my internal memory...
I hope I have give you all neede information to analyze my problem and I hope really you can help me. If not then it would be good to know if my handy is dead.
Thanks in advance
Best regards,
mr.mash

do u have your phone in warranty ?
also as u can get into download mode try flashing kernel stock kernel first then the flash the stock rom (3 way package) .. do not use pit
pit shud b the last option
I can image that the following happened to your phone (not sure, only a guess):
- you were on Android 2.3.x or 4.0.x
- there was on OTA update to 4.0.4 which caused the 'updating Apps' message
- for what reason ever it was not able to update all apps successfully
- you went to recovery and *wiped*!
Being on 4.0.4 this bricked your phone due to the emmc brick bug. After that all flashing / booting / etc. will fail ...
If this is the case, there is not much to do. There is a program and a thread to modify the partition table to make it re-useable, but only in special cases.

Hello,
thanks for your answers.
@neerajganga:
No warranty anymore I tried the stock firmware from sammobile (I9100XWLSD_I9100DBTLS7_DBT) in Odin with PDA. But I get stucked on cache.img. Or is there another stock kernel I can use?
@AndDiSa:
I was on the latest stock firmware 4.1.2.
Do you know where I can find this threat to modify the partition table to make it re-useable?
Thanks

Tee thread is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1823918, but if you were already on 4.1.2, you should be save. Probably it's something different and I was wrong.
@neerajganga:
I used a different PC with a different version of Windows (WIN7 on the 1st PC and WIN XP on the 2nd one). Same problem. Odin keeps stucking on cache.img :'(
I read the thread of the emmc brick bug but my problem is that for solution one I can't flash Siyeh Kernel 5.0.1 because of stucking with odin.
For the 2nd solution I need to get in recovery mode and this is not possible because of the yellow triangle.
@AndDiSa:
The thread says that it is possible to use the scanner manually in adb. Does it mean I can use it without going into recovery mode? If yes, would it be possible to explain to me how I can do it in few steps?
Thanks.

u can still try flashing a kernel
ADB is useable only in recovery mode or on a running system, unfortunately neither of those are working for you currently
Sorry, but currently I don't know what else you could try.

Try to go in recovery mode and format the whole device inside recovery. Try to use odin to flash a recovery if your device doesn't boot in to. If you're successfully then try from there to flash a kernel and a zip from stock rom.

Key word: pit file
Reason for flashing a pit file: unknown
Solution: flash another pit file
Odds: hard brick, mobo change.

What kind of recovery should i use else?
@gastonw
I tried to flash only the PIT file with re-partition in odin of different threads. Same problem. Odin stucked. And for flashing a PIT for emmc bricks I need to know the brick start and brick end to choose the right one and for this I need to go into recovery mode.
Thanks.

Yeah, you need to know what part of your memory is corrupted in order to flash the right pit file. Now tell me something, are you 100% sure your nand was corrupted?

also once u done flashing the pit i mentioned above ... flash a stock kernel first .. then flash the entire rom
@neerajganga:
I used CF-Root and Siyeh Kernel 5.0.1. and Odin stucks. The left upper corner says "Kernel" and the green barrel is full but in the message there is no complete or success info. It just freezes. When I turn my handy on I get the yellow triangle and I can't get into recovery mode. When I'm in the download mode it shows me that I have a custom binary. So I think it worked but no boot or recovery mode possible.
No success with the PIT file. I choosed re-partiton and only your PIT file but Odin stucked.
@gastonw:
I don't know it exactly. First there was the bootloop then it wanted to optimize 1 of 1 app. After wipe cache no recovery mode anymore. That's why I tried the custom roms. I just can give you the information what I see in Odin and on my phone.
How can I know that my USB drivers are not working correct. In Odin I get the yellow ID:COM with my COM port shown. I tried now a different PC and there I just installed the USB drivers. No KIES. And still the same problem with my phone.
Maybe I really have to re-partiton my phone but right now I didn't found something to try it out. Maybe you can give me some information about it.
Thanks.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 9 crashed on s3. Trying to install stock firmware. Help?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-19300) international version. I rooted it last night. Took a custom backup of ROM and backup using Titanium backup. I installed cyanogenmod 9 on it today. It was working perfectly. Then when i installed Google apps (gapps) and restarted it got stuck on the bootscreen. I hardbooted and now all i see is this fuzzy black n white screen ( like static). I tried going into clockworkmod recovery but still the same screen. However, i can still go to odin mode.
So i guess i have to install stock firmware through odin now. But i'm unable to download the firmware. All links are on hotfile and as everyone knows , it sucks :/ download stops after 2 min. Cant find a mirror also.
Any ideas what to do? have u guys also encountered a similar problem?
Can someone download and send the firmware file to me somehow(anysend or wetransfer or something)? iv tried downloading it many times but failed

Have you tried downloading the firmware from Sammobile? If you haven't I would recommend taking a look at this link here for the official firmwares for the International Model Galaxy S3, after you have selected your country and carrier, you can download the firmware and flash it through Odin. Let me know if you still have questions .
Thanks for the fast reply
Thats the problem, everytime i try downloading the firmware it just stops in the middle. Anyway, i got the 4.2.2 firmware for my mobile. I tried flashing that, it said no partitioning. So i tried re-partitioning with the .PIT file. But it get stuck on 'Get PIT mapping' with 'SET PARTITON' in white on the box above (COM)port. Doesnt go further. How do i fix it?

Make sure you have loaded the partition file into the .pit file slot. Also I would recommend taking a look at this procedures "How to Proceed" section (Make sure to substitute the correct file's for your device and don't worry about the multi-CSC part of the procedure) on what to do if you get stuck at the "Get PIT mapping" section.
i tried in xp mode too. no luck.
then i tried with odin 1.85 instead of 3.07. Now it doesnt show Get PIT Mapping. It shows 're-partition failed'. I guess thats some progress
But its still a no go for phone. Any idea how to fix it?
I was thinking of flashing the CWM recovery again and try to go to recovery mode. Should i or is it too risky?
I'm also gonna try flashing with the recovery firmware i found on the forum today...

SGH-i527 stuck in recovery

If I hold down volume and home button and start it up, and try to use Odin3 with AutoReboot and F. Reset Time check and flash I527UCUAMK2_I527ATTAMK2_I527UCUAMK2_HOME.tar.md5 it errors out and the device has SW REV CHECK FAIL : Fused 4 > Binary 3.

Ok, so I think I'm having issues because I don't have the right firmware.
From what I've been reading is that there isn't a firmware released for the i527 for AT&T correct? Or can someone point me in the direction for that ROM.

I found these files by chance in the forums somewhere, i repair cellphones and was working on a work around for the replacement screens not working for the i527 At&t, these files will put fix your current softbrick and restore you back to 4.4.2
Using odin v3.09 place each file in each location Pit in Pit, BL in BL, etc. And let finish, everything should be back working once complete. I do not take credit for these files, as stated before i found these on XDA somewhere and cant remember exactly.
