According to the International Business Times in UK, "Motorola is likely to release its official KitKat update for Droid Razr and Razr Maxx not before February or March 2014." Does anyone know if there is a leak info on that or sth? I really wish we get to get an official KK update from Motorola.

It is a mess up lol

Motorola will update some Razrs, but the HD versions (these http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4970&idPhone2=4972), not XT910 and XT912.
i guess they suck big time then~

The author have a good imagination causing false hopes for the owners of the device when motorola said 4.1.2 was the last os version for it. I didn't like the ibtimes.co.uk as its trustiness is questionable for my standarts. A video starts playing itself and delivers a news of jb morgan patenting bitcoins and such. In the end, you have to login with one of the 4 most important website logins of yours to their site. Sorry but i will not login my hotmail or google account to comment for a fishy news.
unlikely, its a 3 year old phone.

This is great news! But I'm skeptical... Supporting older devices like this is the best direction Google/Motorola can take.
It is not official Motorola has already said they are not going to support this phone. It was a mess up on the New site.

No way that Motorola will suport the razr anymore, it already get the longest support in Android history(my personal feeling) but it will no longer be supported.

Many of us did get ICS in Q2. A lot of foreign regions show Q3, though.
DROID RAZR (XT912) got update in Q2, RAZR (XT910) will get update in Q3
who cares? all official ICS is out and provided by kholk and eternity team

I just can't wait for a fully functional GSM version of JB for my RAZR
Official or custom, prefer custom of course
I know there are roms available and I've flashed them, some has caused it to brick (probably my own error though), and I can't deal with a rom that doesn't have a working camera.. All this aside though, I am not a dev and really appreciate the work that all the devs out there put into custom firmware.
So far I flashed custom JB onto a Galaxy S2 and a Gnex for my friends. Kinda wish I hadn't because now I want even more lol..
Anyways, I am happy to donate to devs that are working on a custom version of a leaked GSM JB rom in the near future. Please pm me for alpha and beta tests, I'm turning into a bit of a flash junkie hahaha
Cheers

Are you talking GSM? Stuff for cdma has been out.
Currently, devs are compiling CM10/AOKP(JB) jelly beans by using libs we got with the ics updates. Since JB is mostly system/framework changes, we don't need a new radio/kernel to get it working. There are dev/experimental jb builds being posted and updated by devs in the Dev Section. You can find out what features are working and more info on how to flash there.

my upgrade in in june 2014 do you really think that $100 rebate will still be available then? I think not. I am on my second razr and i had orginally got a tbolt, then a warrenty tbolt, then a warrenty replacement to rezound, then vzw switched me to a razr, and that razr has screen blotches so they are sending another razr.... Do you think they will send me a razr hd or s3 at some point?
They have to first try and get you something similar first, so RAZR HD is probably what you would wind up getting possibly.

i dont think moto will release JB for razr:silly:
Looking how moto handled ICS release, especially for GSM, i don't think we will see JB release. Well, at least now we have kexec and CM thanks to dhacker and team. I'm using their CM10 (non-kexec) and pretty happy with it.
I second that

This.
I'm using the CM10 from September 22nd and it's working nearly perfectly.
Only problems I see are the signal indicator, which appears almost empty (even though the signal works fine) and the animation when you change from portrait to landscape, a glitch that only lasts for a second.
It's my daily rom now, blazing fast.

No.date was given. Idont want 4.1 as 4.2 will be announced this month. So just skip 4.1 and goto 4.2 jellybean out 5.0 key line pie would be better. After all we are og RAZR owners who otherwise would be sick on massively old os. We can't have that.

I just hope 4.1 or 4.2 or whatever it is we get had a consistent interface like 2.3.6 did. Whenever I try to cut and paste it feels like I'm using three different OSes simultaneously!

DROID RAZR & DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola receive Android™ 4.1 Jelly Bean
MARCH 7, 2013 : BY MOTOROLA
We’re happy to announce today that the Android™ 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade is rolling out to DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola owners in phases. Android™ 4.1 Jelly Bean offers new features and apps that make your life simpler. With features like Google Now, Voice Search and expanded notifications, all of your key information is at your fingertips.
Seeing as how it's been less than a week since the soak test came out, I can only assume that the soak build and the official OTA are the same.
