[Q] Xt910 charging problem and consumer id error - Motorola Droid RAZR

I'm a second user of this phone, and the user before me tried to flash a rom from some other phone and it won't boot or access recovery, now when I connect phone to the wall charger it displays:
Consumer ID error. Contract Dealer
Boot to suspend/TCMD mode:dead:0007:00000000:000000cc (I will attach pics.)
After 6-7 sec it goes off. When it's connected to PC the white led is on, but when I try to turn it on or access recovery the led goes off.
I've seen posts with Consumer ID.... 0004 but nothing about 0007..
Yesterday I've tried to charge it with wires while charger being plugged in wall, it sat there for hour and half and after that still couldn't boot, and when again plugged to normal charger it displayed same error again. What should I do?? Please help!

I can't get to the bootloader. Can it be due to dead battery or maybe dead mobo, because the guy flashed the rom of other phone, could that maybe kill it, because of other voltage and cpu frequency's? Or it could it be the usb cable(it worked before cutting). Should I try with plugging it in PC instead? Thanks.
I've charged it for few minutes with normal charger and now it starts randomly and displays Consumer ID.... and when I put it under my shirt I can see that screen lights green and it has some black spots, and it's not visible at light. This is what I now get when I connect phone via usb..
After installing software loading, it fails right when screen gets on and displays message Consumer ID..... With RSD lite 6.0 I actually managed to detect device, also until screen gets on.

Hi how can root device launched only after in bp menu?

[Q] HELP! Phone keeps restarting

Hey folks,
I'm having some issues with my ATT Atrix. The phone keeps rebooting at the "Rethink Possible" screen. I bought this phone off of somebody on CL. I actually had the phone make it past the att screen a couple times. It made it to the setup up Motoblur screen but when I clicked start it just skipped it and takes me to the "Emergency Calls Only" screen. However the phone would just restart eventually at this screen as well. When the screen timed out I could not get the screen to turn back on at this point unless I unplugged the USB cord and plugged it back in. When the phone was on the Emergency Calls screen, my computer did recognize the phone and it did launch the motorola website. While I had the phone at this screen it did say that it had to force close android.process.com. I am coming from a captivate with rooting and flashing roms so I am familiar with Android. I am just trying to figure out where the problem could be with my Atrix. I am hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. Thanks for your time!
Your best bet will be to SBF that back to stock. Have you tried that yet? If not search for RSD Lite and SBF in the forums. There are several links and guides.
Is it unlocked?
I am not sure if it is unlocked as I cannot get past the emergency call screen. However, I will search SBF and research that option of setting it back to stock. I know when I flashed roms on the Captivate I would enter into recovery mode. I see in the Atrix that I would have to use Fastboot? The only reason I am worried about flashing a rom is that the phone reboots on its own so I would not want to hard brick it if it rebooted during a flash.
If it's unlocked you should see the word "unlocked" in the upper left corner of the boot logo screen, unless it was unlocked then flashed back or fruitcake in which case it will not say unlocked.
You should not have issues flashing from recovery if you have enough juice in your battery, which you maybe don't if you have been letting it sit rebooting. The rebooting is more than likely caused by an issue with a kernel, ROM, etc. Think of recovery as being similar to the BIOS on a PC. You enter into BIOS before the OS boots, etc., and this is before all the hardware has initialized and drivers have loaded, so the problem causing the reboots should not exist at that time. I would definitely try flashing a different ROM, and also a stock kernel.
It never said unlocked when I got the phone to turn on. I am having trouble getting the phone to turn on this time. I have downloaded RSD Lite and the 4.5.91 .sbf file to flash. I am just having trouble getting the phone started. Are there any ways to force the phone on. When I press the power button the green LED stays lit but nothing comes on the screen. When I plug into the charger it shows the moto symbol then goes to the Battery charging screen. Im not sure if the battery is correct because it says BHX5 1500mAh on the battery. Thanks for your help guys!
Update: I can get the phone into Fastboot and then Android Recovery Mode when the phone is plugged into the wall charger. However when I connect the phone to the computer via USB it just shows the green led when the phone is powered on. Anyway I can get the phone to boot into Fastboot while connected to the computer via USB?
Bump. Any way to get the phone to turn on when plugged into the computer or anyone know why there would be an issue of the phone turning on when plugged into the wall charger but only showing the green led when plugged into the computer? The battery shows 100% charged. Thanks
Update: I got the phone into RSD mode and flashed the 4.5.91 sbf but the phone only goes to the Emergency Call Screen. Is there anything else that can be done?

Did you fastboot -w before flashing the sbf? (Guess you don't really need to when flashing a sbf)
What may also help is flashing the boot.img file from whatever ROM you are using via fastboot.
Don't know if this will help, but it solves an issue when flashing to a different ROM from CM7, so maybe will help for you.
I know this might sound dumb, but do you have a sim card installed? Also, try to boot into recovery and just do a factory reset. @CaelanT already pointed out that this should be unnecessary since you flashed an sbf but it wouldn't hurt to try.

EDIT: I reread the OP and realized he had already tried to bypass the start screen.
That is not the correct battery. That is actually a battery used for the Droid X/X2. It seems they have pulled a switch-a-roo on you. (Probably because the Atrix battery could be used as an "Extended" battery in the DX/DX2) Anyways, it should still work but you can find the correct battery online, it should be a BH6X and should have a capacity of 1880/1930mAH.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to get the phone into recovery mode. I get to the Exclamation Point screen but it gives me no options for a factory reset. I saw that you have to touch the lower right hand side of the screen, but this doesn't do anything for me.
As far as flashing the boot.img file for the rom that I used. I flashed the stock 4.5.91 motorola rom. How can I find boot.img and would I flash it using RSD?
Also would it help if I flashed a custom rom instead of the stock Motorola 2.3.4 rom?
Could the battery not being the BH6X rom be the issue for it not getting enough power to stay on by itself?
Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it!
No, the sim card was not installed during the flash. However, I did install the sim card afterwards but the phone boots up and goes to the big green battery charging screen and does not go any further. However when the sim card is not plugged in I can get the phone to go to the Emergency Call screen.

The following are the instructions for flashing the boot.img. this was the solution to bootloops when trying to restore to a different ROM after CM7, but as I said previously, you never know if it will help or not:
1.Open up the Zip file of your current Blur ROM (Ninja, CherryBlur, Alien, etc.)
2.extract the boot.img file and copy to the directory where your fastboot is.
3.Pull phone battery & reinsert
4.Power on phone and go straight to Fastboot mode (Power + Vol Down)
5.Type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (exclude quotation marks)
6.Once flashed, reboot phone using "fastboot reboot"
Sorry, don't know how to extract the boot.img from a sbf. Did a quick search and couldn't find instructions. Not something I have done before. Maybe someone else can help with this. I don't even know if this will work, but anything is worth a shot when you are stuck.
<edit> Which CWM are you using?
You can flash Romracers via fastboot if you are not using it. This may help you get into recovery.
Update: I got the phone to recognize the sim card and make phone calls and get wifi active. But the phone still reboots by itself. I can use all the functions of the phone except it just reboots by itself. I got into the About phone section and it says
Android: 2.3.4
Kernel: [email protected] # 2
I can get into the Android Market as well as everything else. Could this be a hardware issue that causes the phone to reboot by itself within a minute or so?
Edit: I can get the vol up and down buttons to work while the phone is working but the power button is not responsive to let me power the phone off. Could a hardware issue with the power button be causing the constant reboot loop?
Update: I got the phone to function with the OS working just fine (phone calls, texts, emails, etc..) but it keeps restarting on its own. The power button still does not work however, could this be a hardware issue? Thanks

I was trying some JB ROMs with Us kernel. After restoring my CID and flashing an ICS kernel, I tried to restore and nandroid and when it finished, I rebooted and the phone went to that boot failure screen.
I'm able to flash ICS via RSD, but on first reboot it goes back to that evil screen
And I don't understadn what does that "invalid cg: webtop" mean, as webtop is not used on ICS

Well, I'll try this guide from therazrguy posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078021
If you guys want to go back to ICS, then
1. Flash the fastboot files using rsd lite
2. Reboot using bp tools
3. Root your device
Remember while rooting when the tool reboots your device press the vol- and vol at the same time when the phone switches off to enter in boot menu mode and reboot using bp tools mode, other wise u will see a black screen everytime u reboot.
4. Once done restore your cid using terminal emulator.
code: dd if=/sdcard/cid.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk1p18

This means exactly you lost your webtop partition. hsd pilot already posted the solution somewhere... so search in the forum or ask him
Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk 2
You may be right, but I think that the main problem is that my phone thinks he is a CDMA one, as it shows so when connected to RSD lite.
So I'm not sure if it will be related to webtop partition or is a "secondary" effect.
I'll search and try that solution anyway, thanks!

No, at the moment I really don't know what to do...
At least, things didn't get worse and I have a factory cable.
But don't know what to do now... Tried flashing with RSD Lite, from fastboot, tried to get into recovery with that "empty_radio" and no way.
I'm only waiting for someone to reupload the webtop files by hsd-pilot. If this doesn't work, I will start thinking that this is a true brick...

You're right. I only can boot into that "fastboot flash mode (flash failure)", that is the one the loads automatically on every boot, or I can power on using vol+ and vol- and select "ap fastboot mode" and the i boots in the usual fastboot screen.

Well, can you connect the phone and see it with RSD Lite ?
If so, i have a suggestion..
Try flashing to the fastboot gingerbread rom.
I had a similar problem here, and that was my solution
After flashing to GB with RSD , phone started to work again with no problems...
I think this will solve your problem.

Were you able to fastboot flash GB coming from ICS? I thought it was not possible...
try flash RSD from another PC,also try to charge phone with wall charger .. not the best solution, but I`ll try it..

You can give a try based on this thread:

reaches the motorola dual core logo and restarts :crying::crying:there some method other than by fasboot?, or some solution?
Have you download fastboot files that match with you region? if yes then you have same issue with me
So far what I know to flash is use batch file that developed by awesome developers here and RSD lite.
Have you try this:
- Go to boot menu (the way you get AP Fastboot menu) but this time try to select BP Tools
- and wait will your phone able to boot into system or not... If you able to boot into bp tools, get your phone root (JB is able for root now, get the thread in development), then install BMM to have it normal boot .. I got this suggestion but never able to have my phone boot in BP Tools, so I never know this works or not so good luck
- When you choose BP Tools and your phone still on M logo turn it off (you should wait only 10 or 15 minutes max) then turn off your phone and put it in boot menu to select BP HW Diag.. then.. we have same issue.. be prepare your phone only able to phone call , sms , taking camera, cannot access data only rely wifi , USB debugging not working, some fastboot files makes your phone not able to charge (I have to turn off my phone then charge)
I still strugling to have my phone back to normal also..

[Q] HELP / PROBLEM - Fastboot Loop and Error flashing with XT910

Hi all, so i´ts my first time here posting but I´ve been following this forums long ago and touching stuff with my phones.
Today (well today... i´m working on this since yesterday) I´ll need the help of the most veteran users since I can´t solve this on my own.
I Have an XT910 Razr Moto. Yesterday I charged it with it being off, but to my surprise when I powered it on, I got the Fastboot screen saying the device is locked. Here´s the complete error:
-----------
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
0A.74
eMMC Info: Size 16G
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery Ok
Ok to Program
Connect USB Data cable.
-----------
So, after getting this, obviously I thought, well, power off, or force power off, then power it on, and lets go... Well, nothing, I constantly get into Fastboot again.
What I figured out is that if I power it off, then hold vol down + vol up and power at the same time, I actually CAN get into boot menu but It will not let me select anything, it will just show it and boot in Safe Mode for me.... Tried factory reset also, so i could backup everything...
After going through all that I decided to give it a try and go for RSD with stock firmwares from sbf.droid-developers.org. I got like 4 and they all stucked at cdt.bin flashing part... Giving me an error about 6/18 process that can´t flash cdt.
So far I´ve tried LOTS LOTS of stuff like some .zip going around there to fix the CDT, with no luck...
THen I ran into this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651596
Which was very usefull to have some progress, like completing the flash by erasing some lines in the xml about the cdt. system (cause it hung a lot there and gave error again)...
However, the error still persists, I boot up my damn phone and it goes into AP Fastboot. When i go into Safe Mode I see that everything has been wiped so its like a factory phone now, but still in safe and powering it off won´t make the difference.
I´m kinda desperate and about to throw this phone out of the window. Is there any pro savior out there who can give me more tips?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!

What fastboot files did you tried to flash? Were you on ICS or JB before the brick?Where are you from?
Error 6 means that you are trying to flash wrong firmware, for example, you was on JB and now you want to flash ICS.
Here are JB Fastboot files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289,just flash one for your region.

I´m from Argentina. And you are totally correct, I downloaded FB files for 4.0.4 , but now I tried running the phone in Safe Mode, went to sys info to take a look at it. And found I have 4.1.2
So question is, from that list you gave me, the "Retail Brazil" should do it? as well as UK retail or any other?? Which one should I chose
Thanks!!!!!!!! a lot

Ok so I have made quite a progress here. I was able to get a Brazilian version which is from LATAM and RSD flashed straight like a charm. Now I have the clean new firmware.
And even I can read in the fastboot 0A.77 instead of 0A.74 version
HOWEVER: problem with the Fastboot still persists. Even the phone itself when it restarts goes into Fastboot and when I´m able to make a boot menu I can´t choose anything and it goes directly to Safe Mode.
Now that the system´s """""fixed"""" and I could flash it.... Any tips on taking this off? I cant start the phone in normal mode :S

IMHO you're advised to re-flash phone's Stock ROM by means of Wiko Phone Flash Tool.

i have. i just tried again. i cannot find a firmware or stock rom for my device. i have even tried to usea mt6739 scatter file.
im no beginner to phones here..but im seriously stumped.
Maybe this helps:
Unplug your phone from PC if it's connected. Shut down your phone by clicking and holding for approx 10 secs ALL THREE BUTTONS: VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER. If you do this properly, your phone should not self-boot into Orange State anymore.
