Did it factory data reset or preserved data?
You can try to force stop the camera app and clear data.
I keeped the data, do you think that will make any difference ?

Could be, camera data is just setting, clear it and see if it works.
Open settings -> All, click Camera, then clear data.

hello,
My Samsung S3 it has become sluggish or slow reacting to the home button and when I want to Unlock the device. At least a 2-3 second delay before it reacts. I've cleared cache, removed all open/running apps, cleared ram, restarted phone nothing happened.
I try as much as I can to clear everything daily twice a time, but even though it doesn't help. I also clear the Application for Task Manager and Running Application also that I do want, but no joy. I don't browse much, I don't have lots of Pictures of Videos.
I have only installed a few applications;
WhatsApp
UberSocial for Twitter
Gmail Client
Exchange Server Mail configured on it
Andriod Keyboad 2.3 (ASOP)
TouchPal Keyboard
App Cache Clearer to clean all Application Cache

Don't you think you are clearing (cache/memory) too much?
BTW which rom/build are you on?

What is your suggestion about the Cache/Memory?
4.0.4 latest firmware PDA:LFB/ PHONE:LFB / CSC:LF3 (XSG)
Are you using a custom ROM/kernel? If then, return to all stock.
he is on stock indian build
@OP I was on LFB a few days back and it was really snappy for me.
First advice is to stop worrying about cache/memory. Let android handle it. Second try and uninstall cleaner app, reboot and then see

Hello, I don't use any ROM/Kernel at all. it's stock and I never played with it's OS other than upgraded to the latest Android. 4.0.4
There's always a delay when pressing the home button when waking up the phone. This is a hardware problem and the S II, the Note and some other Samsung phones all suffer from it. However 2-3 seconds is too much. Go into S-Voice and disable the "double tap activation" in its settings. It should speed things up a bit.
maybe do a factory wipe/reset?

Hello, the S-Voice disabled since I purchased it. I don't use all the handy features as well such as Screen Rotation, sounds with keyboard and keys, I don't use Navigation, Maps, Latitude, google+, Local, Dropbox, etc etc.. I'm just keeping my phone so light, but the responsiveness of the the Unlocking device is irritating me.
Thanks,

When ever I open my camera, it loads for a second with a dark screen (I see the camera buttons like toggle video and whanot) but then it kicks me out of the app and says camera failed or more frequently, unknown error occurred. Try this:
Go to Setting/Applications manager/All and:
Clear the Camera data.
Clear Media Storage data
Than reboot to recovery and:
Wipe Cache and wipe Dalvik Cache.
Reboot the phone.

I had this or a similiar problem which came out of nowhere (after 18 months of error free usge): whenever I opened my camera it would be black and freeze for a couple of seconds and then a message would pop up saying "Unknown error by errorcallback" or something like that. Interesting thing is if you would manage to switch to front camera everything would be working fine.
Cleaning cache and dalvik cache would help but after a few days the same thing would happen again.
So I got tired of it and reflashed the ROM and it's okay now. Hope I helped.
Same here. I reflashed and the problem is done.
I opened the back of the phone and took the battery out for 10 seconds. I put the battery back in and the camera worked fine.

Since the update to mm on my e2303 the camera app doesn't work as it did, it closes without any reason, a part of the right side comes to the left, they appear purple lines, the main camera doesn't work while the front one does....(usually when restarting the device it works properly for a few minutes)
Anyone knows any method for having an stable version of the camera app????
Also the speed of the device has decreased, where I realise it most is with the keyboard

I did it with Xperia companion and when I first booted it up the camera worked, but when I installed my data and social media apps it was like before, the front camera perfect and the main camera with an "unknown error" that disables both cameras.
Anyone knows a solution?

Now the camera (usually) works but sometimes what should be on the right it goes on the left but if you make a photo it appears properly. Also sometimes the frame goes Violet a second and then disappears and goes again...
When this problems happen if you continue using the camera it crashes and says the same as before

Top right corner, there is three dot.. menu button
the application was updated but the function was removed because there were bug sending etc ...
we should have new access to this function as soon as google resolves the bug.
Working fine on my phone, once I updated the app, just force close it, open it again and it should be an option.

Also, for those not being able to see the new refreshed UI, after installing the update, be sure to clear cache and data after opening the Messages app at least once.
confirmed, after update is need in Settings/Apps/Messages/Storage/ClearStorage, after this is in 3dot menu show new option "Enable dark mode", after use it is immediately switch do dark theme...
I didn't get the update. My message app is stuck in version 3.4.048 (Yehu_RC26_xxdpi.arm64-v8a.phone)

You have to restart as soon as possible after clearing the caches. I was struggling myself but sorted it today.

Still not working for me
Somehow or other I got the second august update automatically. I always reset after an update (no idea if it makes a difference but I rarely have issues with the phones themsleves) and the dark theme was there from the start.
You can sideload an update from https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/development/ota-nokia-7-plus-ota-links-t3818774
Good luck
