On stock rom and rooted, and running phablet mode via xposed and build.prop changes
is there a way to have USB tethering as a shortcut? Most widgets i have tested that have the shortcut does not work either
You might be able to do it with Nova Launcher. Long press on homescreen and choose "Shortcut", and then choose All or something like that.

My phone cones default with above launcher. I just changed to go launcher ex and wanted to remove tw . My phone is roots. Can someone guide me on the removal? I tried holding onto the icon but the "x" does not appear. Thanks

you can download root uninstaller from market and find the twlauncher, and remove it
i wouldnt do it tho, in case your go launcher fails you will lack a launcher to do stuff
you can also delete the tw launcher using root explorer.just navigate to system/app
But as you have been warned delete TW launcher and not replace it phone cannot load .

As JJE has pointed out, removing TW is fraught with danger.
If you really don't like it the best thing to do is install a launcher you do like then freeze the stock launcher in Ti or similar. This way your launcher of choice will be the default. Also bear in mind you can't completely get rid of TW, it is very much baked into your rom and its services are always running in the background/the launcher you use runs on top of it.
I also use GoEx & have the default Miui launcher frozen in Ti. I don't recommend removing anything to do with the stock launcher.
Go launcher allows you to make it your default launcher when setting it up so there's no need to mess with removing tw.

Or flash a rom that doesn;t use TW - like Illusion - go launcher as standard
I have about three launchers in the system / apps folder and use home switcher to change but only really use TW .

I have already made go launcher ex as default. But once a while when I kick on the centre button, the same prompter will appear asking me to choose btw go launcher and tw launcher. Everyttime I tick the box and make go.launcher the default, the prompter will appear again.
That's why I am thinking of removing it altogether. Or perhaps Bro/sis know how to solve the jnial problem?
Have you changed default through go launcher settings as well? because I'm using it and never have that problem. Maybe try clearing defaults in application management for go launcher too.

OK. Because I'm an all round good guy, I'll repeat this for the 2nd time.
Get Titanium Pro from the Market (or Gemini if you don't want to pay, or several other apps that can freeze apps), and freeze the stock launcher. I have done this in Miui and am using GoEx as my default launcher without having to tick any boxes or without the stock launcher prompting me or appearing out of nowhere.

I know there are a few of you that like Go Launcher.
I was just wondering if any of you using the tablet mod have tried the tablet version (which I believe is Go Launcher HD)?
Or is that not really an option because of how that mod was created?
I just updated my tablet and have all the new remote functions. However, I cannot find guest mode. I do not have the guest mode icon in the upper right corner like I was have seen in the screen shots. Does it need to be activated first?
Issue solved: If having similar issue uninstall all after market launchers.

No, the Guest Mode function does not have to be activated for its icon to be displayed on the tablet's screen. The Guest Mode icon should be located where the Favorites icon used to be, in the upper right corner of the screen, just to the left of the Apps & Widgets icon. If the Guest Mode icon is not there but the Favorites icon is, then you have not truly updated to Android 4.0.3r5. If neither icon is there, then you have a problem I have not yet heard or read about. If the case is the latter, I will search around to see if a solution exists and let you know what I find.
Ditto

Cat, ditto. I installed the update, but do not have the "Guest Mode" feature displayed or available from any Apps or security settings. All other upgrade features seem to be intact, such as Walkman and removal of the "Favorites" stock Sony menu launcher. Just offering validity to the thread.

Do you also have a Sony Tablet S? Anyway, I will begin looking into this problem (mainly because I'm curious about the problem) tonight after I get back home from a 300-mile round-trip service call. In the meantime, remember "Google is your friend."
Yes have the original stock Sony Tablet S not rooted. When I updated I was using Nova launcher. I figured I would not have this feature with Nova so I switched back to the stock launcher. Still did not have the Guest mode icon. Only Apps/widgets and missing the old favorites icon.
I cleared data for the stock launcher to see if that would help but this was also unsuccessful

Strange, If I were you I would do a factory reset (don't forget to backup things)!
I've the same issue... updated my stock tablet s and there is no guest mode or favourites button beside apps and widgets. I had chameleon launcher installed before the upgrade. Haven't tried a factory reset yet as I'll continue to use chameleon for the for seeable future so I won't see the guest mode anyway using a 3rd party launcher

Once I uninstalled Nova I gained the guest feature. Weird that it would not show on the stock launcher with Nova just installed but not set as a the default..

So it appears the Guest Mode is missing problem is related to having a third party launcher installed.
There is no bug. You need to have the Sony Launcher set as default in order to gain the Guest Mode function. This is because the Guest mode would be useless if the "Guest" can access another launcher by simply pressing home.
Guys!, try factory reseting, its just the old data and files which is causing the problem
Someone reported that Guest mode appeared after a factory reset

Found it!
I had the same problem, but i found a workaround. Screenshots to follow!
*THIS IS FOR NOVA LAUNCHER*
Step 1: Longtap the homescreen
Step 2: Tap Shortcuts
Step 3: Activities
Step 4: Scroll till you find Home
Step 5: Tap Guest Mode
DONE! The link should appear on the homescreen.
P.S. You can find a whole bunch of goodies by using the same method on any android device. For example, the Nyandroid easter egg can be found in Settings!
Brilliant wish I would have thought of this.

Holo Launcher, hold down screen and press shortcuts. Then press activities. Then go to Launcher, open the drop down menu and select the third option

Well the issue that I've been experiencing is very frustrating but then again anything I can't figure out on my phone pisses me off I just want to set the same wallpaper for my lockscreen as I have on my home screen however I do not have the same options for the lock screen as in my home screen. I am using Nova Launcher Pro and running JediX. On Nova Launcher I have the option to choose wallpapers that came with my icon pack but do not have the ability to use them for the lockscreen as well. Does anyone know if there is a way to do such a thing? Thanks in advance and I will try to respond quickly If you have questions so that you can help me out a little more.
Are you on a TW Rom? If so, use stock launcher and it will give you the option to set lockscreen wall then go back to Nova.
Well if only gives meimited options when using tpuchwiz launcher. And yes I'm using Jedi X17
Or...... if you can find the wallpapers via gallery or a file manager, just long press and set as wallpaper or lockscreen, or both. Might need to use the menu key instead of longpress but either way the option should still be somewhere. Good luck.
Doesn't work :/ can't find any folder with those in it. For stark at least. The others I know I can since those basically just download photos but the wallpapers for stark are built into the icon pack itself I believe so there are no actual photo files.

Hi,
I use latest Nova launcher (Premium) and CM11 (nightly). But the same happened with CM10 stable and nightlies.
When I install new app - shortcut doesn't appear on my homescreen. I remember long time ago (I think that was in ICS stock launcher) - shortcuts would appear. But not anymore.
Automatically add widgets checkbox is checked in the Play Store Settings.
I even reinstalled fully Nova. No success.
Any ideas how to fix that?
Anyone?
Nova settings
New apps
Check the box
I believe its off by default now as many may not like apps just showing up
