I'm sorry to get off topic of the google play edition and all the greta things it's going to bring but you know what, **** you, Sony, where the hell is my flash??? This device is meant to be carried around, it's obviously meant to replace you're current phone as it is a phone, it's not a cheap device, costing as much (or more than at launch) as other high end phones and even cheaper ones don't skimp here. Where's the ****ing flash??
All of you who are about to give me **** about how great the sensor is, shut the hell up, you need a flash indoors. pictures look like **** if it's not well lit, and many, many, many people use it as flashlights and now it's a major inconvenience. Why did they do this??? How much did they save by not putting on a flash?? I don't love the battery life but I get it, they were keeping it as thin and light as possible for such a large phone, I would have preferred a little thicker with a decent battery but it's fine. could they really not fit a tiny little led light in there???
I'm sorry for being like this but i just saw an xperia z and z1 and it just pissed me off. Yes, I knew what I was getting when i got the phone, and it is a great phone but every time i take a picture indoors or need a flashlight the thought "**** you Sony" pops into my head.

No, it's like complaining that i bought a ferrari without an audio system. It's not absolutely integral and I knew what I was getting, Doesn't stop me from being pissed of at them for leaving out something very important for no reason.
The flash nor the battery life doesn't bother me. What bothers me is it broke in less than a month.

Broke in less than a mouth? Holy cow, how are your teeth?
i'm looking into buying this device and truly i have been absolutely baffled at how a company on a phone with better specs than everyone else included a screen protector on every phone and didn't even build in camera flash?
the screen protector bothers me more than anything that if i buy it i'm going to drive myself insane trying to take it off and cleaning it perfectly?! thats ****ing ridiculous.

I wish it had a flash and I wish in general that the camera was better. But like others have said I knew what I was buying so I don't regret the decision.
Camera sucks. Worse camera I have seen in my life. It is so bad I don't even know why Sony added the camera to begin with. However every review and every article I read said the camera is utter Crap so I knew what I was buying. If camera was key for me I would avoid this phone like the plague but having a bigger screen is more critical for me

Sony is quite good at shooting itself in the foot.
Take the Z1, for example. One of the biggest sensors in a smartphone camera and they release it with unpolished camera software. Pics are nowhere as good as they're supposed to be! :-\ (And yes, I speak from experience)

Yeah you don't have to say 'F**k Sony' if you have known about the device you've bought. It was your decision anyway to go here, so accept it as it is. If you receive it unexpectedly (like screen cracking with no reason) then please do an open letter. But in this case No point for complaining right now.
We all know that the camera sucks, but it's not that bad, it's decent for casual usage. No flash bugs me also but not that important, i can lit up the screen with Chrome white page and use it at night to lighten up the room.
you didn't know what you were buying? isn't that your fault?

LOL... yeah pretty much right.
The Ultra doesn't need a flash. seriously! Every image i have taken with a phone (even the Z1 and Nokia 41MP device) hasn't performed well at night using a flash. They just don't work well. I've never kept an image that ive taken using a flash. Even on my DSLR's..
So I'm fine without a flash.
Yes the 8MP camera should have been better, but it isnt. So hey.. all we can do is buy the QX10 and make a case that works...
Will the next alliteration of the Ultra have a better camera... god I hope so...

Just a general question!
Over the past couple of days I have been using my S3 with the lock screen turned off.
It's really good as you get straight into the phone quickly and it makes the phone appear faster.
Is anyone else using their device with the lock screen off?
what's your point?
He wants to know if anybody else uses lockscree. Or not. Duh.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
The main reason for a lock screen is to prevent from calling someone without realising if it's in your pocket so you don't blow your cap plan. That is just one example of what can happen without a lock screen....

Every new thread you come and act like a jerk. This forum it's going downhill because of dicks like you. This is a place to meet fellow users and talk about various aspects of the I9300 and you totally ruin it for people here. So what if the thread it's a little off. But all you're interested in is humiliating people while acting like the moderator's little pet while scaring everyone away. If I was a newbie today I would've never signed up because of that jerk. A little nerdy kid acting tough is so retarded. Grow up and get a girlfriend.

Hello
I'm new in the custom rom scene. I tried to flash CM10.1 on my SGS2. First I wanted to wipe the data partition, then the device suddenly turned off. After that it wont boot anymore. I tried an USB-jig but no reaction. The phone was on Stock ICS 4.0.4 rooted with I think PhilZ-CWM6 3.81. The first time I brick my phone and then a fullbrick. Now my question is, what did I wrong? I want do that experience anymore in the future. And sorry for my bad English I'm from Switzerland.

Thanks for the "thanks" you got one back. And thanks for the answers. So we can say it's the fault of Samsung? :good:
How is it the fault of Samsung when this is a known issue ?
If you were an ordinary user with a stock phone, you did a wipe & the phone crapped itself, then it would be Samsung's fault. But when you begin 'messing' with your phone, fail to do your 'homework' (despite information re: this particular issue being plastered all over the place) & your bork your phone, that's your fault.
You are right. I have to inform me before I do something like that, but it's difficult there are so many threads and posts and my English is not the best. I will search for a thread (or app) were all traps are listed.
Blame it on Samsung as long as you are convinced that the only thing you did was to wipe on 4.0.4.
As long as it happens while on that kernel it really doesn't matter what you were trying to do.
Brick bug was spotted on august or september, samsung learnt about it right away and kept releasing flawed 4.0.4 kernel.

Connect the phone and goto device manager to see if theres any device detected. If not, then head to customer centre but rooting voids warranty but if you tip the guy maybe he'll work it over
