I'm in a bit of a pickle. A friend have a Wildfire S, and the digitizer is dead, meaning no touch at all. It is totally stock. She has all her contacts stored in the phone (/data/data/android.providers.contacts/databases). I am trying to get a hold of that.
ADB is out of the question, as debugging is disabled, and I have no way of enabling it. I also tried to temporary install a custom recovery through fastboot, but to no avail (S-ON).
Any idea is welcome.

So long story short I have this thunderbolt that is not working any longer. All of this happened over a year ago so I am vague on what I did to get the phone in its currently ruined state. It was rooted with the stock image and after trying to put a CM rom on it that didn't work I mistakenly booted into the phones recovery instead of clock work.
I now get a security warning and it is now s-on. If i do a recovery or factory reset it just boots back into the bootloader. Attached is an image of what is current on the screen when I power it on. I can't get ADB working on this pc but my spare rig has it working in OSX. ADB does not display the device. I have a way to get files onto the sd card but I am still kinda new to all of this stuff and just looking for some help. So where do I proceed from here?
I am going out of my mind.
So the phone just literally booted into my rooted rom. So now the question is, how do I get rid of the security warning and get s-off permanently?
At my end.
After a long day of trying to fix this thing and crawling all over the internet reading different posts I officially don't have a damn clue as to how to fix this. I am pretty sure the bootloader is corrupted and seeing as the phone is so old now it's really hard to find working links to downloads for this device.
Hi, im new to this forum, so sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Basically i would like some advice on my HOX, i have had cyanogenmod installed for the past 8 months or so and all was working fine, then recently i have been getting loads of messages "so and so has stopped working". Mainly google applications (allthough i had not tampered with GAPPS atall). Then, my phone switched off. For no reason, it will not turn back on. I have tried all the usual combinations of key's, i carn't get it to boot into bootloader or anything.
When i plug it into the pc, i can get it to recognise the device but as either a "unknown device" or "apx", i havent really got any idea what the "apx" thing is all about? or if i can use that to somehow install drivers so the device can be recognised?
Please if anyone can shed light on this, that would be great, even if its only so i can get into bootloader or so ADB will recognise it, i can work it from there.
Thanks!
Hey,
got my phone (htc desire x) locked again (yes, I am stupid sometimes ).
First time it wasn't a big problem to me, just adb into it an set a pattern value to 0 an boom, lockscreen bypassed. Problem : since then, the androidversion got updated from 4.0 to 4.1 and it doesn't work any more.
My situation:
Bootloader locked.
Not rooted.
no custom recovery installed.
USB debugging enabled.
My question now is, is it possible to bypass the google lockscreen on an android 4.1 device? Tried different funny things like pushing home button or calling myself, then some more komplex ways with adb commands and so on, but all of them lead me in the end to either a custom recovery or root.
I'm not sure, if there is a way to get a CR on an locked device?
Or does anyone know how to adb pull some files from the data section?
And I read something about adb'ing into the device in recovery and removing the security settings, what about something like that?
Cheers,
Dex
PS: Hope it's the right section for the post.
PPS: To prevent any questions, yes, it's my phone, I don't want to steal anything, if I would like to steal the phone, I would just resetting it
Have you tried it with this tool?
Hello found this tool on xda:
Have you tried unlock bootloader with this tool? Afterwards you can flash a new rom. Probably this can fix your problem.

Does not work, it gives me an error message, but can't access the logfile
Hey all.
I'm currently trying to help a friend recover his contacts from his old Phone (galaxy s2) to transfer to his new phone as it broke.
However, therein lies a problem, his screen & digitizer is broken, it's completely stock so no usb debugging enabled and has never signed up at Samsung's find my phone,
I've downloaded kies, however that just comes up with 'phone locked requires code' etc.
I've tried removing the battery and I'm now kinda stuck on what to do, I can't seem to get download mode working as I can't see the screen to know if I was successful,
Any attempts with adb fail as it's not recognising the phone.
Strangely it's showing up fine in Odin so perhaps I can flash a kernel to it & if so, which would allow me to view files via pc so I can recover his contacts and restore via titanium backup?
Tldr : no screen, no usb debug, stock, just want to recover contacts. Help.
Cheers in advance.
Any chance anyone has any insight?
Still haven't found any way to fix this.
Anybody able to help?
Friend still hasn't been able to recover contacts. Provider won't help him either and once again. replacing a screen for $100+ dollars isn't an option.
Anyone able to help at all?
Not a solution post, alas, but a sympathy one. I'm in pretty much the same predicament, but no-one seems to be able to assist. Not sure why, as I thought this forum would be full of answers.
Sorry for not being any help.
So, for Christmas my daughter's mom got her an A33 Q88H QuadCore Softwinner tablet, and we discovered the OS it came with had some very strange issues related to a lack of compatibility with Google Play, so I tried to get around that with software, but I needed to be rooted. However, I had bizarre difficulties with SuperSU, unlocking the bootloader, rooting, and even more difficulties trying to flash a custom recovery that I could use to ROOT-- the obscure china tablet had no TWRP or CWM support. I finally tried a very convoluted method of flashing what appeared to be a ROM for the A33 Allwinner tablet, which hadTWRP already installed, so I could use TWRP to root it, and then finally fix the software issues.
However, the process didn't work, and when I rebooted the phone, I found it stuck on a black screen with a tiny android symbol, and that's how it's been since. Holding volume and power button only reboots it to the same screen -- no bootloader or anything, so I can't find any way to try to flash a factory ROM to get it back to regular settings. When I plug it into my computer, it makes the input noise, and shows up in Device Manager as "Android Device" with "Android ADB Interface" drivers successfully installed, but ADB doesn't recognize it as a device, and I can't get it into any sort of download mode -- it isn't recognized in My Computer as a hard drive. So, I can't find a way to interface with the tablet to reflash a stock ROM. :frown:
It's her Christmas present, so I don't want to admit that I've broken it; I've been trying to solve it all night for 12 hours straight, but I just can't find anything that works! Is there any way you guys can help me? :crying:
I tried to attach some pics but the uploader isnt working.
