I see that the phone is powered off, and plugged into a charger. Unfortunately that is a known bug of OMNI on this phone, and I am not aware of a solution beyond avoiding this condition. The phone will boot fine once you unplug the charger. leaving it plugged in may discharge the battery completely. The quickest way to charge this device on OMNI is to plug it in while booted into recovery.
What firmware are you running? what have you tried?

So you bought a battery. Was it new? Are you able to verify that is has sufficient charge? Have you tried an external charger? Have you tried to enter download mode? (to allow the pfone to be powered by the usb-port)
I ended up having to bring the phone back to the store to have them replace the battery. I read somewhere that the Galaxy S2 phones can only charge once the phone is on. However, the battery must have enough power to turn the phone on before it can charge, If you completely drain the battery, it won't start so you can't charge the phone. It is an endless cycle of stupid. I purchased an external charger on Ebay so I can avoid the situation entirely.

Even if the light does not come on.. just leave it to charge. -_-
If it still wont come on after 3 hours.
check charger... then check for replacement battery.
Then try to re-flash to stock. "i suggest Doomlord's pre-rooted stock"
Hi
I've been having a look around the forum and there seems to be some really good tips on fixes so i thought i'd ask someone if they can help me?
Basically I've received a Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 in for repair as it is completely dead. It will not charge or turn on at all and I have tried a new charger and battery but still no joy. There are no signs of liquid damage on the board and the charge socket looks good as i am getting a reading of 3.3V on the multimeter when i take a reading off the battery charge pins so power is running through the board.
I've read somewhere that these phones can have a problem with the MAX77686 Chip and was wondering if this could be causing the problem as i am pretty much stumped?
Thanks

is the phone entering download mode? if not, put a friend's GS3 battery in your phone and try entering download mode(volume down+home+power) and flash a stock rom via odin.

then no luck! just follow JJE's suggestion above.
The last option is to try, JIG,,
Otherwise, as it says, service,
you have to try this
there is a something called jig
its a device you can make it or buy it from amazon
it is cable (usb) with resistivity 300
(150+150) or (100+100+100)
you plug in with your devcie and it will run in dfu mode and then plug it in your computer on odien

Samsung Galaxy SII SGH-i777
OMNI 4.4 Nightly
I've been having charging problems ever since installing this ROM. When I plugged it in before, it would show a battery with a question mark. The phone eventually died and it won't boot up. I am not really sure what else to put but just ask and I'll answer.
yeah, that's a weird bug with OMNI right now -The phone isn't really OFF when it's off. It shows the questionmark and gets very hot, and it won't boot while it's plugged in. I have submitted a jira report, which just got downgraded to minor. You have to unpplug the phone from any usb charger or port and hope that it has enough juice to boot. Then leave it charging while it's ON.
I'm not sure how to recover from a dead battery in this case, unless the battery-out download-mode thing works? give me fifteen minutes and I'll try it...

sorry @jmsato,
if your battery really is too low to boot the phone, then the only option I'm aware of is to ODIN it to stock and start over.
1)remove the battery
2)plug the phone into a pc usb port
3)hold vol+ & vol- & power until the warning appears
maybe someone else knows some trick way to charge a battery out of the phone.

Hi,
my phone just got into that bootloop thing.
I did a factory reset but it didnt help.
sometimes the phone overcome the boot problem and doing the restart after going to the home screen.
now iv notice that the battery is acting weird, every time im charging the phone when it off its showing different percents. it can say 91% and after I turn on the phone it can say that there is not enough battery to turn the phone on.
before the bootloop thing happend I bought to my phone a super charger:
Tronsmart Quick Charge 3.0 USB
is there any connection between the bootloop, the charger and the battery? I don't have extra battery to check it but is there anybody that know about this problem?
thanks

Change the charge
Hi guys, hope you might be able to help me out. So from one day to another, fast charging does not work anymore with my Galaxy S9+, its not rooted and I am still on stock rom, with newest patch level (December).
I tried rebooting (plenty of times), I tried Safe Mode, I tried turning the fast charging option on and off, tried different fast charging chargers and cables (which used to work before) nothing.
Maybe do you have a hint what I could do to fix that problem.
My Software version:
G965FXXS2BRK4
Appreciate your answers

Are u using the recommended charger that came with the fone? If yes, try using another type C cable
Yes I used the recommended charger, as well different chargers which all worked before for fast charging. Nothing works out now

I had the same problem once. I noticed that an app was draining the battery. I uninstalled it and restarted the phone. Then, I got the fast charging back. May be check your battery usage to check if something is consuming more power than usual.
I have the same issue. Been like that for months. Try cleaning the charging port. I had to do that to stop moisture error message and helped it charge. I still have no fast charge.

N still no fast charging? Sorry if it's a repeated question but ur using the original Samsung charger n cable right?
Solution: Fast charging
Go to settings-apps- enable system apps - find usbSettings (clear cache, force stop). It should do the job. At least for me did. Stock Rom with latest security patch (Sept 2019), 8.0, Galaxy s7.
Reasons: latest security patch, or that battery drained to zero just before my FC stopped working.
Hit thanks if it helped
