Hi, So here's how the story began:
First, it was like 10 pm, i was recording a video which is about 1 hour on my S3 I9300, i went home, watched the whole video, but then i noticed that the video glitched a couple of times. So i restarted the phone, everything was great. I felt sleepy, so when the phone boot up, i put it on the charger (Original Samsung charger) everything was fine, phone was working, it made the charging sound and i used it for a minute while its on the charger which proves it was working. I locked the phone, and as usual, it made the charging red LED. i slept, the next day when i woke up. i went to take my phone, the phone had a green LED which indicates that charging has completed. I took the phone, pressed the power button, but the phone didnt respond. BLACK SCREEN. whatever i do wont work, download mode, recovery, anything.. the device never responded.. I took off the battery and put it in again, but still, nothing.. Any suggestions? or anyone can say why did this happen? My device is on Stock TW 4.0.4, Never rooted or anything.. HELP

If your phone has warranty then Samsung will replace the motherboard.

I've got my awesome galaxy s3 for about 4 months now.
I'm still using the stock firmware and I rooted it a few weeks ago.
Today, the phone battery was at about 95%, it suddenly completely stopped working in any way.
No led flashes or turns on when I plug it in to charge. No reaction when I turn it on. No reaction from my pc when I plug it in.
I also tried ODIN/ download mode and whatever there is left. No reaction at all.
Also, the ODIN tool doesnt see the phone and the pc doesnt(device manager).
I hope anyone can help me

I have exactly the same problem, I have ordered a jig to see if i can get into download mode. I am told this could be a motherboard problem though.
I have changed my screen so i do not think samsung will fix it under warranty
May Sound Stupid... but have you taken the battery out and left it for a minute then put it back in?
sure have. Have done everthing, charged overnight, took battery out for an hour, tried different battery.
I took it to a repair shop in a shopping center and they said they think the motherboard is dead

Jup, tried that too, no change
Same thing happened to me too... Phone suddenly died. Still waiting for the jig. If not then service warranty for us is the best thing we can do.
Here's a update on my phone.
I tried to use a jig, a friend on mine had one, but no change there either. So I send my phone to samsung with the warranty. I was a little scared here because I rooted my phone. A few days back I luckely got a message that my phone was returned. Apparantly, it was broken so badly thay they didnt found out it was rooted. ^^
They replaced my motherboard and I never found out what was wrong, probably something fried...
Hi all, i got my Galaxy S2 about a year ago (9100 normal, non AT&T or verizon or another else ) and i never encountered problem like this. One day i was texting on the toilet, and unfortunately it fell down on a bowl of water and its all soaked. I just turn it of and take out the battery, when i turn on it again, the start mode triggers, the icon Samsung igt 9100 is showing up and it keeps blinking and blinking, bootlooping. many of my friend said that it is fine and just wait for the water inside the machine to dry up, like one week or so. but after one day i tried to turn it on, the yellow triangle below the 9100 logo is gone ( i think its resetted and everything is gone ) and it went to download mode. But after that, i was not careful enough and my battery fell off, and the phone is turned off dead. and after all of that, i can't even turn on the phone, nothing happened, its like a dead phone without battery.
i went to many forums and many people tried to fix it using the download mode USB jig recovery kit, i bought the i9100 USB jig on the eBay, its arrived today. I tried to plug in on my phone, and i try to turn it on and even every boot method ( download mode, and recovery mode ) and holding the power, still nothing happens. what should i do...?? does that means my cellphone is dead forever? :crying::crying:
You should have put it in a bowl of dry rice for a couple of days to completely dry it out. I think you turned on your phone too soon with the risk of having it f**cked for good.
You seem more accident prone than Mr Bean.
Stick it on eBay

when i plugged it into my pc, it works, it says that device is not recognized but it still shows, i think it might be some hope, can somebody help me
Unfortunately it is dead, because you did not wait til it dryed out before starting. You fried the flash chip which contains the information for the phone to run.
Only way to fix it is to replace the motherboard. Which means it becomes a new phone with different IMEI.

plug in the charger and let it charge for few hours. You should have left the phone to dry before switching on

will it cost much?
I doubt there's anyone here who can tell you how much. That will depend on how much parts & labour are in your country. Send it in & find out.
My phone was working fine last night. I was browsing Tweetdeck and it was working normally. I plugged in the charger, turned off the screen and went to sleep.
This morning I woke up and found the blue LED flashing; indicating that I have a new email/sms/etc. I couldn't get the screen to come on, but the blue LED continued flashing.
I thought the phone had crashed so I took the battery out (and in doing so realised this was the first time I had taken the battery out since I got the phone ~6 months ago, which means it has never crashed before) and after which the phone refused to turn on.
Now when I plug a charger in there's no LED to confirm it is charging, and the phone will not turn on.
The only cause I can think of is installing Vice City yesterday. But I exited the game and continued using the phone for a few hours before it died.
Seems like one more case of this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1993044

Oh thanks, didn't see this thread. Looks like lots of people have the same problem!
Look further down the page for S3 sudden death , a few others including me have had this, it seems the motherboards are failing .
Hi guys,
please help if you can!
My One X+ intl. is dead!
battery fully drained.
tried to plug it in to a wall chager, my PC USB, another charger ----> NADA.
device not responding to anything.
anything I could do at home before sending it to a lab?
IMPORTANT - i was on CM10 with a specific kernel I flashed.
if someone will do a factory reset (with full data wipe), will it reboot to stock properly or go in to bootloop?
what should I do when in order to go back to stock\another ROM properly from this situation?
here is the full details:
I read few threads regarding this issue from the One X forums and nothing came up.
From this morning (in the minute i woke up) my One X+ was hot.
after disconeccting it from the charger, i have noticed it drains battery really fast.
Tried to charge it, showing its charging but it kept going down (2 % in a minute while screen is on).
when it came to 7% i turned it off, waited half an hour for it to charge and turned him on again.
it booted with 2%.
after turn it off again - never came up again

You did not search much then if you are still asking how to go back to stock. Run the RUU for your particular model and it will take you back to stock. But this sounds like a small problem if you can not charge your phone. Before anyone tells you to, you are on the international version of the phone so TWRP is fine and not your issue. It sounds like there is something physically broken on your phone or you flashed something very very wrong.
right listen up, i have the international HOX+ my battery died the other day to ZERO, if you actually read the TWRP thread, you would see all you have to do is plug the charger in, hold power for 10seconds to exit offmode charging and boot. Simple. and don't say it cant be done because it can be, i do it often.
Thanks for helping guys.
much appreciated.
It seem the device got overheated and that what made this issue.
I don't have warranty since I unlocked the bootloader so I took it to a private shop.
I raised this Q because I was affraid someone from this shop would do a factory reset. Didn't knew if it causes to bootloop.
Took precaution and told them not to.

tried it like a hundred time with 3 different charges.
Also tried entering bootloader, the first time I tried it blinked as if it was really going to boot and then died.
if i were u i will keep it on it's original charger for 16+ hours after that the red LED indicator will appear ... if that happens your phone not fully bricked and it can be recovered
Lame of HTC to kick the can down the road. They know it is a problem with the drivers/device.
One X had issues also early on.
Mine literally worked fine from my One X and car bluetooth, then to the One X+, crackling etc...after pairing in the audio and general poor sound.
Mic works fine and the other end doesn't know it.
Guess we will just have to wait and see. Or just go back to the One X....
Hey all,
so a few months ago my SGS2 went off. It was an interesting behave of it, it just started to turn off sometimes, without any reason, without any popups (eg. battery low) or anything. I was really curious about this problem but I didnt have a single idea of what happened to it. Like a week later, it didnt turn on at all. I disassembled it, and found out that my secondary microphones cable broke. I thought that was the problem, so I ordered a new module (which includes vibrating motor, secondary microphone, ear-piece, and the jack).. I waited 3weeks, the first one arrived broken. I waited another month, and today the second one arrived in one piece. I put it inside the device to see if it works but its not. NOW the problem is, like it was before I ordered this module, when I try to turn the phone on, it doesnt do anything at all.(with the broken secondary mic cable it did, it went till the samsung logo and then bam, blackout) IF I put it up on charger, it says the battery is FULL, and from then, I push the power button and it starts to turn on, but goes until the Samsung logo, or sometimes it did boot, but thats rare, and then again BAM, blackout. Now I was like wtf? So i tried to reach recovery, I did a full hard reset to the full stock SGS2 ROM, tried other kernels, recoveries, ROM's, but nothing helped me. NOW If i enter DOWNLOAD mode without the charger, it says "Low battery! Cant download." and this happens right after i plugged the charger out, and it told me that the battery is full (what a liar), but when i plug the charger in, I can reach DOWNLOAD mode, and Recovery mode too, but they do blackouts after a few minutes too...
Any ideas?
Would be happy if anyone could help me out...
thanks :good:

oh and if it matters, its GT-I9100, 2 years old.
if you can get your hands on a different battery, i would recommned you to test it with that too.
as your device is 2 years old and i am assuming you havent changed the battery yet, there are strong chances of battery life getting over.

thanks for your response!
well today i am about to test a new battery, i hope thats what the problem is... an extra thing, and yes im stupid because of this but i left my battery in the phone for the 2 months while it was off... a friend told me that it can cause the batterys death, is that possible?
If u want to leave your phone switched off then it's better to charge it and then remove the battery from the phone. So there is a possibility that your battery is Screwed because of that time when you kept it in the phone itself.
