Hey,
I tried to instal ICS onto my Galaxy S2 and half way through the install on Odin it froze for like half an hour, Showed no sign of moving so i pulled it out in fear of a hard brick,
Now my device when i turn it on says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again"
It will show up in Odin and can go into download mode but not Recovery Mode,
Help me! How do i get the stock back ? I dont want to mess up again..

i am no expert but if you can try and get into recovery and try and restore your phone.. what i mean is press volume up + home button + power button and try and get into recovery...if you can then if you have a previous rom that you have backed up then just restore and see if that works...
or if you can get into download mode try and see if you can flash any other stock firmware... Sorry i do not know anything else to suggest.. hope you sort it out

NAND Write Corruption?

Hey after flashing a JB rom, my phone wouldn't boot past the Galaxy S2 yellow triangle screen. Using a 3part stock gingerbread tar and repartition, I managed to get back to stock gingerbread. However, while I was flashing CM9 in Odin, my computer blue screened and obviously the flash failed mid way. I have now tried flashing a boot loader , kernel and the re partition rom. However, only the kernel flash passed. The others stop at NAND Start. My phone is now stuck at the yellow triangle screen and re partition won't flash. Any tips ?
EDIT now gets to FactoryFs.img before freezing and failing
Try this.

Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue.

I need help! My Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 (i545). Tried flashing a new ROM (CMod 9) but got error on Odin and after restart get the error message. Please Help!!!
If Odin still connects you can flash the stock ROM and start over again.
I agree. Restore back to stock and retry. Links in my sig should help you.
Why were you trying to flash CM9? That doesnt even exist for are phone. You should really check what you are downloading and file names before you just go and flash it.

Hey guys I'm having the same issue. I rooted my phone and tried to flash CM but it didn't seem to work. I get the message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". I'm still able to get to odin and it is recognized but fails every time I try to load the tar via Odin. Any help would be much appreciated!

s3 Stuck in boot loop

Hi all, hope somebody can help me.... I am currently stuck in a boot loop on my i9300....
How did this happen? well....
I'll start at the beginning... I received an ota update notification for the 4.3 update and without checking the internet to find out how good it was/wasn't, i stupidly downloaded and installed it! as we all now know, its terrible!
So.... in an effort to get out of the nightmare that is 4.3 i downloaded odin on my computer and rooted my phone with cf auto root, i then downloaded I9300OXAEMG4_BTU from sam mobile. I put my phone in download mode, hooked it up to the computer and flashed the said xaemg4 rom via odin. Everything seemed to go well and the phone rebooted.... but now my phone just continually shows the swirling samsung boot screen and never gets past it!
So, what went wrong and how do i sort this mess out?? Should i try to reflash the rom again with odin will i just make things worse?
Just for info, i do not have a custom recovery on my phone, i just used odin to flash.
Please help me out guys. :crying:
Cheers
