Hello,
I've update my samsung S3 I9300 with the 4.3 original rom (I9300XXUGMJ9_I9300OXAGMJ9_BTU and I9300XXUGMK6_I9300OXAGMK6_I9300XXUGMK6_BTU) but since that i'm not able to activate the mobile data connectivity.
The APN is well configured.
I've tried wipe cache partition and factory reset without success.
Could someone have a fix for this issue plz ?
Thanks !
sory the problem was in fact my provider... after a third call , i got someone inteligent which told me that the 3g was blocked (without any reason) .... so now the 3g is working back... thanks for your help

Hello Everyone, I am using Samsung Ace s5830i and since yesterday I am not able to make any calls, when I try to call a number it says "Mobile Network not available" but I can see good signal strength and I am also able to use GPRS. In the notification area it says "Emergency calls only".
I went to Settings -> mobile networks, when I try to manually select my operator(TATA Docomo, i'm from India) i get the error "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network".
I have removed the sim card, inserted in another mobile, it works fine. When I try try to insert a sim card of some other operator into ace I get the same errors listed above.
These are the things that I have tried.
1. Removed the sim card, battery inserted them back and restarted the phone
2. Restored my Nandroid backup
3. Complete factory reset
None of these worked and still I get the same error.
Information regarding the phone:
Model- Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830i rooted with CWM 5.0.2.6
Android version - 2.3.6
Mobile network type - GPRS
Network- TATA Docomo
Signal Strength - -90dBm
Service state - Out of service
Mobile network state - Disconnected
IMEI - Unknown
I have called Network provider they say fault is with the phone.
Any help would be really appreciated...

you have lost your IMEI... u'll need to flash stock firmware via odin!
see this thread for procedure!

Re: Help "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network"
Just for the knowledge, what may be the reason for losing imei and does flashing stock rom retrieve my imei.
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda app-developers app
possible reasons are many...i don't know what files did you flash? (Rom/kernel/scripts)
Cronmod script is known to have this issue...did you flash this script?
Flashing stock rom with odin will give back your imei!
What's your ROM/kernel? and what scripts did u flash?
Re: Help "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network"
I am using stock rom. No i didn't flash cronmod script. I'm not sure but i think problems started after installing Online Nandroid backup tool maybe it has installed some scripts, i'm not blaming the tool it is fanastic app to make nandroid backups.
Let me flash custom rom, hope problem goes off.

So my phone has been having the freezing problem.
Sent back for repair twice, of course came back without any fix as intermittent
Anyway, over the last few days the freezing seems to have resolved.
The problem is now, since the 2nd 'fix', the S3 can't make/receive any calls/texts!
Mobile internet works fine
Attempted ARIZA patch, patched but problem still remains
Try manual selection - states 'unable to connect - try later'
Status shows network as 'O2 UK' correct
Mobile network type: HSDPA
Service State: Out of Service
What is going on here? Anybody got any ideas? How can I check if it's the EFS? If it is, what can be done?
Many thanks for any help!

Standard answer
CHECK
IMEI is the same as under the battery .
Mobile network APN settings ./ Correct CSC for network
Replace Sim card .
Check correct modem
factory reset
Ask your network .

Hi,
My unlocked S3 will no longer make/receive phone calls. Searching for (and then trying to register on) mobile networks results in "unable to connect try later"
IMEI code is OK (not starting with 00)
Different sim card- same results
Flashing rom to latest stock xxemg4 rom etc - same results
Now the weird thing is if i add an APN to my service provider - i get data connection (email/twitter) work - but cannot register on voice network
Is this a hardware radio issue? Have any of you guys seen this before? Any advice?

Reads as you have wrong CSC or wrong APN settings .
Suggest read the Faqs and Guides first .

Could also be your network operator having issues. Can you test your sim card in another phone? (Or another sim card in your phone). You could also try different network modes in the mobile networks screen.
Thank you for your replies.
My IMEI number does indeed match the one under the battery. All APNs have been deleted and then only the APN from my network provider added.
Network says sim/imei is NOT blocked.
Sim works (with calls) in another phone
So - my phone is now a PDA - data connection OK but no voice calls. I guess it must be a phone hardware issue - Odd but there you go.
Again - thanks for looking.

do you recall exactly when did this happened?
any chance you might have installed wrong modem when flashing rom?
It was working fine - hadn't flashed anything for months. Then voice dropped out - never come back on.
Usually if something stops working and you haven't made any changes then it might be a cache or system file is corrupt.
First clear the cache and dalvik, then factory reset and reflash the rom. If it still the same on a clean stock rom then likely to be hardware.

Suggest you start by reading the stickied faqs and guides .
Or take the phone to a service centre .
I have just rang tesco and my imei is not black listed. relief
I have not done any thing it was working perfect couple of weeks. i thought it might be tesco as they are upgrading networks now and then but no.
I have not put anything stupid in the phone or installed a custom rom.
I have just reinstalled the firmware via kies and still no luck it just says emergency calls only when i drag the top bar and not registered on network when i try make a phone call
When you say you have data...you mean you have data trough wifi? Or trough your privider?

This suggests you need to start at the beginning wipe phone and flash the correct stock rom for your network via Odin .
Its all in the faqs and guides alternative to reading is a service centre .
what modem do i install how do i know and how do i do that.
I have been reading around the forum and people are having same problem.
I was reading this thread is this anything to do with mine (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2529127)
is the same problem happening with s4s and notes
Dont know what country you are from...depends on where you live in the general tread there is a modem rill tread.
You can flash these through odin.
Or through custom recovery.
If you dont know/understand these terms you need to read up first
Read well!!!....if you dont know what you are doing you gonna mess it up more than it is now!
Or else take it for repair.

im in the uk and the phone is on 3 network originally. currently its on 4.1.2 baseband i9300nelk2 build jz054k.i9300xxemd2
the imei is same as under the battery and serial number
what if eri version is unavailable and service state out of service
do you have to have root to install a modem
I have galaxy s3 i9300 and my problem is no mobile network on my phone so i can't make calls or even open mobile data.
What i did:
I was using CM12.1 android 5.1.1 everything was ok for months but i faced a problem after that time which is "can't open mobile data" i thought that the problem is from the Custom ROM which is not stable, so i decided to downgrade to the official/original stock ROM android 4.3 Smamsung Career, but the issue still existes or it became more deep i don't know what's wrong with it. there's a signal of network connection but when i call it says "Not registered on network". I did the network settings and search for operators automatically but it didn't work also. at the end (currently now) i decided to back to the custom ROM but the problem still there so i don't have no cellular network or data mobile plan.
What i think:
I think that the EFS partition touched Note: i still have the IMEI
So please can anybody help me?? i'm reallyyyy neeed heeeelp

I was wrong my s3 was bricked and it is not the EFS partition that has been touched "beacause the IMEI still there" but the problem is that the Serial Number i have it BUT when i updated to cyanogenmod the OS gives me a wrong serial number so that's why it told me "Not registered..." so i'm needing to inject the true SN in my device. So how can i do that with Z3x Box? thanks
