I have the HTC droid DNA. I am looking for the HTC backup app. In other words, instead of using gmail to backup what I am looking for is the HTC app for backup. I remember when I had the HTC one, someone sent me a link for the app but that was a while ago and I have no idea where that file is located...

Theres been a few apps in the past that wasn't available in the market so I was able to get them from 4shared, but recently I haven't been able to download anything. When I select the app, it usually gives me a count down but now it does not...it just sits there. I just tried installing the snote apk that was linked which was 4shared and again I don't get an install or count down prompt..

I think they are requiring you to sign in now to get access to dl.
Ok, sorry. I had the same issue before and changed my browser and it worked.

If its not letting you install them again you may have to sbf to get them back. Also, I'm curious as to why you are posting in the dx2 section if you have an xpert.
There is no xpert section
Sent from my anthonys phone using xda app-developers app
Why would you have to sbf it?
Sent from my anthonys phone using xda app-developers app
to fix the phone
the xpert is more like the pro

not that I've seen
how did you backup, titanium?
did you try, restore without data?
on sdcard/titanium
should be a apk.gz file for missing app
unzip gz move apk to system apks
fix permissions, reboot to recovery, wipe cache, reboot
might work may not
you should always make a nandroid right after rooting, if you did use that

Hey guys, I recently came across an app which lets you take nandroid backups (EXACTLY like the ones we take from recovery) WITHOUT going into recovery. Meaning, you don't need to power down your cell, enter recovery and then execute backup....you can do that (in a way) 'online' i.e. while you simultaneously use your cell.
I hope this makes you appreciate it's utility.
I've taken (and will continue to take) several backups using this app and they all were flawless! Not a single problem with restoring backups (via CWM) also! Give it a try and you'll be amazed how handy this tool really is...
Hats off to the original dev (Ameer Dawood) for making life so much easier! :good:

Nah! The app takes nandroid backup EXACTLY like through recovery, but it takes it while you simultaneously use your cell....as in an 'online' backup ..You don't need to power down your cell and enter recovery to take backup .....and the backup is stored in sd, not the cloud (although you can save it in your dropbox folder which eventually will be uploaded to cloud storage)....Hope this makes the use of app more clear (I'll update OP too)....just give it a try and you'll know what I mean...

So I was browsing on Facebook and I like the htc fan pages I see this app htc makes called htc power to give and decided to check it out.
Basically the app takes your phone and uses it to download bits of information compute it and the sends it back. It acts like a super computer and I thought it was a great way for us htc owners to give back and make a change in the world or contribute to it while we charge our phones and don't use then when we sleep.
Here is the short YouTube video that explains the concept behind the app. It's about a minute and a half long.
http://youtu.be/_0oJ39vs_Kk
And here is the app on Google play if you feel like joining the cause.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.ptg
Just thought I would bring this to attention to those who want to help and make a difference with their htc device.
For those who can't download it on their device I have gone ahead and uploaded it to Dropbox.

Amy way to spoof data connection so the app thinks I am on WiFi? I want to help the cause, but my unltd data plan is my main internet connection

I don't think so unless you modify it, but that is way above me. Maybe ask one of the devs around here.
