Ok i am so so so so confused right now. I have spent days scoring the internet for a answer to my most confusing situation.
I started out on version 2.0 something i think and one of the tutorials stated to update so i did.......... (my biggest problem i think from what i have read) and so i was on 2.1.27...... Followed all the tutorials for backing up, then trying to root, then installing gapps but nothing worked. After reading a little more it looked like it was due to the wings and university thing but when i tried to un-install it failed every time saying that the files/folder didn't exist ???????
Have many a problem so i downloaded a 1.9.37 backup restored this through TWRP so now how i dont know have a woking nabi2 with TWRPP installed, on version 1.9.37 (here come the best bit) but still running university, and wings etc ??????????
I have no idea what i have done wrong but obviously i have.
I have been using Nabi labs V2, Nabi labs GUI and also JMZ Nabi Recovery Installer.
If anybody could help i would be more than happy to make a donation towards their Christmas funds.....
This nabi that im working on is for my youngest and i cant give it to him like this as i managed to do his brothers a few months back, so if he cant play minecraft on his i think ill be sleeping in the dog house on chrstmas night.
Thank you in advance.
LIke i said i have read many, many many threads but nothing seems as unusual as mine.

I'd help but I'm not sure what your problem is. You have 1.9.37 working with TWRP installed?
You want to be on 2.1.27? But with wings removed but you were unable to?

I really not fussed about which version i use just want a nabi working again lol.
Its seems to have problems reading the E: is there a way i can completly restart the nabi externally without using twrp etc, if not which program is best to install a OS as there is no OS on there now and when i try and restore it will not show me any backup to try and restore from??
update
Ok, i have some progress.
I now have managed to get a OS back on. I think my problem is a intermittent connection to my SD card.
I am now running 1.9.37 release keys, android version 4.0.4
However like before it still has university installed.
What is my best course of action from here (other than throw it in the trash)
Thank you again for you help and sorry if i was getting a little scatty back there but i thought id just bought my son a £100 brick lol

I had done the original root/gapps install on this. Then had problems with gapps. So I went back into TWRP and I had a restore called stockunrooted. I restore it, and when I go to reboot it says "Warning, No OS installed". Sure enough, it boots to a little Nabi logo with no motion. And just sits there. I used TWRP file manager and don't see any files in /boot after I do a restore. /boot and /system seem to restore instantly. I'm good with PC's, Networks, and Linux, but not Android hacks. Is there something I can download, push with ADB, then load with TWRP that will fix me up? I think that's how I got the STOCKUNROOTED that is already there though
Got Nabi2
Rooted with jmz?? method and also installed his gapps
Nabi wouldn't power on right without reset hole after a week or 2
Restored stockunrooted, worked fine, no more power on problem, but no root or gapps
Rooted per jmz method, worked, no gapps.
Wanted to install gapps, so restored stockunrooted again, now nothing
At least TWRP works. It's wifes though, and she isn't into just using it for TWRP.

Ok, I got that. Having problems getting TWRP to see it. I tried from SD card, tried copying it into sd-ext, sdcard, external_sdcard, sdcard/twrp/backups. No luck. If I click Install from sdcard it shows me /sdcard/root.zip so I tried putting it in there but no luck when I click recovery. I tried setting permissions on the zip to 777. What on earth am I doing wrong. I spent about an hour with google searching before I came back here. I'm on TWRP v2.2.2.1

i hope ya wasnt using the mic hole on the bottom of the Unit
http://www.nabitablet.com/specs/nabi2
IF i were you i would Search the forum "nabi 2"
you will find a lot of post with downloads and things that people have done to help get their nabi 2 up and running.
HTH
I used the reset hole and I've already downloaded all the jmz files and a few more. I've read about Nabi here for hours. My last try was restoring JMZ_OLD to get back to factory. Still no WiFI. Then I tried installing the WiFI_Fix. Now it just shows a spinning Nabi logo. I rooted my 4th one today using the new Nabi Lab which I really like! My wife's is the only one that is a problem child. Funny thing is the other 3 were bought at Walmart, hers was bought at GameStop. I think from reading the Cannot Turn on WiFi is a version problem between the drivers and the kernel, but not sure. I really want to try Nabi Lab on it but I think it is old Nabi software at this point, and Nabi Lab says I should be fully updated to run it. But I can't update it without WiFi...grrrrrrrrr. Is there anything I can do to restore it to stock including stock kernel and drivers? Who knows, maybe the WiFI has a hardware problem? But I doubt it. If I use JMZ_Old, then the 2 OTA update files, then ??? I'm not sure I've tried that yet. I wipe everything between attempts. 3 more posts and I can go thank the gentelman that made Nabi Lab in that thread and tell him I tested it and it worked fine.

I wonder if you have a Different Nabi 2 then i do ?
coz the only hole I have that looks like a reset hole is for the mic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2050365&highlight=nabi
has a few different downloads like a striped rom a full untouched version and a full de-odexed version.
maybe try that one

New Rom available.
Completely stock.
Not even De-Odexed.
Update 37.
SHOULD fix WiFi issues.

Ok, I'm a moron. My reset hole is the mic, which is now pretty dead...:crying: The good news is Nabi Lab fixed my WiFi and soft brick problems. I had tried about every image out there including that one you suggested. Using Nabi Lab and flashing the hmm All Original - Won't Boot or something like that fixed it. Since I never use the mic I'm ok. I could probably replace it if I wanted to, but I'll give it a rest before I break it again.. I have 3 Nabi's, and 2 Uniden tablets. I killed one of the Unidens. The screen got worse and worse. I popped it apart and tried to reattach the 2 wires to the screen half. It started smoking and doesn't power on.. Now I might take the battery off it and see if I can solder it into the other Uniden to get longer life. I hope it doesn't get hot.

Now that nabi with the bad speaker ... i wonder if you can use the speakers from the dead Uniden in the nabi 2 ?

If you try the battery project or the speaker replacement - be neat to see pictres of it....lol
Speaker was a beer typo.. I meant the mic. I'm an old man and have no use for croaking at people over the interweb with a microphone so I'm ok.. I started a thread someplace about the Uniden tablets. I checked back and it's like 9 pages long with geeks installing Ubuntu and everything else on them. I was amazed! I'm going to get real and get an Onda V972 soon I hope. Now that I have enough posts here I will probably start a thread about buying one of them.

Sorry my english.
I was trying to install the GAPPS on nabi2 and messed up.
The kernel recovery screen appears with a exclamation android open.
In normal boot the screen is locked in logo nabi.
I do not have TWRP installed.
When I select fastboot protocol recognizes the PdaNet and appears as a device in windows mtp unknown.
Is there any chance to recover? Could guide me the way?
There is some recovery via APX?

Need to reinstall TWRP with fastboot.
Download a ROM image and restore it in TWRP.
There is an APX way but so far untested and not needed for where you are at.
Thanks for the help, after a snack could reconfigure.
I'm trying to install Freedom but is difficult. There is not enough system memory.
I updated to 2.1, but I think I'll go back to 2.05.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here & ask a question that's been on my mind for a while, so bear with me. But first, let me give you some background so there's no confusion & no unnecessary questions asked. I'm by no means a "pro" at modifying my Note 3, I just follow instructions carefully & then implement those directions to achieve results. That's how I rooted my Note 3 but could still care less that I tripped Knox in the end.
I have the 32 GB Sprint Galaxy Note 3 with an 8 GB microSD. It's rooted using Chainfire's method. I also have TWRP for a recovery, but I'm using the stock Sprint ROM that came with it. I have a few root apps installed (Titanium backup, AdAway & Root Explorer) but the rest are what Sprint (& Android) put in there, minus a few that are totally unnecessary for me...(chat apps, picture drawings, step counting & so on) that were removed with Titanuim. It's still on 4.3 Jellybean with PUBMJ4 baseband. I also have the Wi-Fi hotspot fixed through 2 file replacements using Root Explorer.
Now that you know what I have, onto the question...
I see many, many ROMs in other threads that I'd like to try out, but don't know how to go about doing this. Before you jump right in & answer, here's my problem. If I try a ROM but don't like it, or it doesn't suit my needs, how can I go about going back to what I have now in the best (& fewest) steps necessary? In other words, to go back to exactly what ROM I have now, the apps installed, baseband, the whole nine yards. Just like a computer backup, it's a bit-for-bit restore, completely mirroring the hard drive. Understand?
Maybe you could explain to me like I'm seven years old what apps I need, what procedures are taken, the order in which they happen & so on. If I need an app or two to do just this, I have approximately $20 Google Play credit left.
Can a DEV or an experienced person that's done just this help a fellow out? Don't get me wrong, the stock ROM I'm using works for me, but there's ROMs posted that look just awesome! It's all about "personalization", am I right?
Easy, since you have a custom recovery installed (twrp) , you simply do a "nandroid" backup (I personally like to backup to an external SD card, so get a bigger one) before wiping and installing something new. If you like what you got, fine. If you want to go back, wipe and restore! Easy Peasy!
Sorry, being a father means sometimes your time suddenly becomes unavailable. But believe me, it's really easy once you figure out twrp.
I'll let another fine member get more details if you actually need them. ?

Doing a Nandroid backup as we speak! I didn't realize TWRP could do that. (duh! ) I only installed TWRP because I just liked the name of it. TWERP!! (gotta nice sound to it, doesn't it??) Thanks a bunch! :good:

I did. I found a Youtube link on how to do a TWRP backup on the Sprint Note 3. Easy Peasy as said above! I'll try some ROMs this weekend (can't promise nuthin' cause it's gonna be 70 degrees this weekend & I'm itchin' to ride my mountainbike along the boardwalk at the Virginia Beach.)
But now that the hard part is outta the way, it's all easy street from here!
Just be sure to Please, oh god Please, read all instructions on any rom you decide to try. Doesn't hurt to read the last 10 pages of each too, get an idea of Current issues that may not be documented in the OP.
And don't get lazy, follow word for word. The only times I f*cked stuff up was when I didn't follow instructions (ie, thought my experience meant I knew best), or just got sloppy.
And, don't forget to wipe! (I wipe 3X, everytime, as a habit. Some people will give you reasons why that's unnecessary, but I can say confidently, if perhaps anecdotally, that I Never have the issues others have with bad flashes, softbricks, FCs, etc.)
Something to get comfortable with, even though you may never need it is ODIN. It's most common use is a utility for flashing stock ROMs and firmwares, great for recovery from bad things. Again, you may never need it, but have it ready in your Pc with a stock ROM file, just in case.
Finally, Titantium Backup can be your best friend, if used properly. It can also be a real pain, so don't become too dependant on it.

No worries! As I said in the OP, I follow directions carefully. I read everything.
Odin is my friend as well. I have it installed on my laptop. That's how I flashed basebands & deodexed stock rooted ROMs on my Galaxy S III. I also have the original stock Sprint ROM for this GN3 "just in case", in a folder sitting on my desktop with a few extra tools. I've never bricked a phone, unless you count using Samsung's online update (can't think of the name at the moment). It said 4.3 was available, so I downloaded it. It flashed, rebooted, but stuck there. Never finished the boot, just gave me an error code. Samsung's own update killed my GS3 & was unrecoverable. Believe me, I tried everything. What was strange, was the ROM was 4.3 but the baseband was the previous version, not the newer one, so the phone just puked. It never updated the baseband so it bricked. Now, I tried (and used) different radios with no problems before the update. Everything worked in harmony. Go figure!
Time for sleep my friend. Gotta work in the morning!
The other day i was installing CrombiKK from Hairybean.
I followed the directions for the bootloader and recovery and installed it fine after many tries choosing different kernels and install methods in aroma.
I noticed after installing with some different kernels that the wifi bug had a separate fix and wasn't because of a faulty kernel so i went to reinstall with the wifi fix and the OC kernel i wanted and the rom installed just fine but i immediately installed the wifi fix and twrp gave me an error. the rom bootlooped.
i thought all was fine and wiped again to install again but i noticed that while installing the rom in aroma it took about 4 seconds versus a minute or so, and thats when i noticed that twrp wasn't writing any rom at all to the tablet.
so im stuck with no rom and twrp doesnt want to install the rom anymore when it worked previously. i have no backups on the tablet either.
i checked the brick guide -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514088- and it seems to line up with brick #3 but they dont have any information on that.
please allmighty devs, help me.

Seriously people should stop trying that rom ... it does more bad than good ... Last week the same happened to me ...
I am no DEV ! I was thinking I permanently bricked my tf201 so I was desperate and tried everything ... maybe think twice before attempting this ...
What version of twrp are you on ?? I believe that the first two steps you take to install CROMBi-kk (.recovery and .blob) basically turns your tf201 to tf300t . The evidence is when I installed cwm for tf201 it didn't work but cwm for tf300t worked pretty well . but generally cwm is useless in this case ...
I suggest make sure you are on latest twrp for tf300t device and go download latest official cyanogenMOD 11 for tf300t device and flash it with twrp.
Again, My case was way more messed up so I messed with many other stuff so maybe wait so someone confirm or deny this !? but I started going for CROMBi-kk now I got a fully working cm11 that thinks my device is tf300t .

You are completely correct to point out the dangers but the fact is if you follow the the instructions given in the respective threads to the letter then everything will be fine.
Unfortunately, years ago, Asus in their wisdom landed us with firmware that is totally unforgiving when mistakes are made. People do not understand this because they have spent many years flashing happily away on devices with zero penalties for making errors and have come to this forum expecting to just plough on as before. New people just don't seem to understand that a really small mistake can totally brick this device.
To be fair, the forum itself has for a long time now been hard to follow because outdated threads still keep rising to the top,
As one who has been knocking around here for a few years (and who will probably be stuck on the TF201 for a while yet now the new Nexus tablet keeps getting pushed back: 4:3 screen - wtf use is that for my portable TV/media device??) I will take some advice to put together an up-to-date warning post about what should and should not be tried. Experienced users please send PMs with suggestions on what should be included :good: .
S3P3HR-
I followed the instructions for crombikk exactly, hairybean 2.31 with JB 4.2.1, bootloader version 10.6.1.27.1 and twrp 2.6.3.1 and like i said i had it working at first minus the wifi patch that was a separate file.
the real problem was that i wanted to reinstall with a different kernel so i just booted into twrp and installed with aroma and it installed fine but twrp had an error when i immediately after installed the wifi patch. i didnt think much of it at first but now i cant install any roms.
Restorer-
You are deinitely right on this tablet being unforgiving. Ive been running custom roms since 2011 and have never had a problem like this before. It totally caught me off gaurd. i honestly didnt think this would be so bad, even my dad's evo 4g lte wasnt this easy to brick. Im mad about it though because that kitkat rom was the only thing to make it fast enough that i could use it how i like to use my devices.
Could you think about any possible way of fixing my rom installation problem? Its not like i can use it in its current state anyways so if theres a chance i would try it.

Yes, can access the boot loader just fine. I haven't checked if fastboot still works but it should since the boot loader does. I just am wary of trying anything with the risk of making it much much worse.
it has been 10+ days and since nothing helpful has been posted I post this .
I never installed the actuall rom but I installed recovey and .blob and it somehow formatted my /data with all my backups in it . then I panicked and tried to format partition Data and it took a little long so I panicked some more and forced a restart ... I found microSD card and tried to install cm10 and virtuous_prime roms but It was a fail . I investigated and saw my /data was corrupt and showed internal : 0mb . I was still able to flash any recovery I wanted . Usually cwm for tf300 and twrp ...
compare your case to mine and the case I post Down below ... it does Exactly what that on unbrick guide said not to do ... Your choice ... if every thing fails then a mainboard replacement is last option ...
Look at post #5 for his version of fix . I couldn't access asus tf201 official support site so I yahoo'ed stock firmware and for what its worth , I chose a rom that had deoxed in the name ... whatever that means ...

Look at post #5 for his version of fix . I couldn't access asus tf201 official support site so I yahoo'ed stock firmware and for what its worth , I chose a rom that had deoxed in the name ... whatever that means ...

Sorry for the late reply everybody, im up and running again after lj50036 (dev behind crombi) helped me so much. What we did was since the bootloader was working just fine we set the tablet back up with a stock blob and from there we set up NVFLASH (which was needed 10 mins later, haha) and after that i used it to take my tab back to stock and from there i followed his instructions for crombi.
BTW, crombi is literally the fastest rom i have ever used on the tf201, the battery life is lowered a bit because of OC but its worth it.
@ s3ph3r, you might have gotten yourself into a big mess, does your bootloader still work? if so, there may be hope but i couldnt figure out where to start with it.
HELLO THIS IS ANDROID ADMIRER
I HAVE FOUND THAT THE TWRP FOR THE SM350H DOES WORK ON THE METRO PCS SM350T1
I FLASHED THE TWRP TAR THROUGH ODIN AND DID THE BUTTON COMBO TO GET INTO RECOVERY AND IT BOOT RIGHT UP
HERES THE PACKAGE
INCLUDES ODIN AND THE TWRP TAR FILE
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/p4r7dnpz1moqn/TWRP_PACKAGE
I see you labeled this sm350t1 the grand prime for metro that is sm-g530t1 and the 350 doesn't exist the closest to the number is the 360 which is the core prime but also noted I was told that it is missing key functions

Please clarify that it fully works back ups zip flashing and everything else because the g530h thread previously stated glitches for the g530t1

Bump anyone else want to chime in the file he gave is for the 530h but I'm not flashing it if it has the bugs that I read about because it will become useless

i have the sm-g530t1 and i believe i ran this twrp for a little while probably before anyone even knew it worked for metro/t-mobile. im not running it anymore and ill tell you why.... main reason- it does not want to create back ups properly and when i say properly i mean you set it to backup data, system, boot cache and recovery but when i go to restore it only backed up my System!!! Everytime no matter what i did! i first found this out because i went to restore and honestly i didnt think to check if it got everything backed up properly i just swiped the screen and went to get a cactus cooler out of the fridge... when i returned to get my phone i felt very sick because i was looking at a screen that asked me "are you sure you want to restart you have no OS" I said thats ok i made more backups and i did! but everyone of them just backed up the system only and not even the whole system just about 30% (not that it mattered) so that cactus cooler didnt taste so good afterall sadly. i lost all my photos and personal info that day and learned a valuble lesson.... do not flash packages that are not specifically for the variant you have because although you can get lucky once in awhile it is very far and in between. im pretty sure if i remember correctly it even said.a different model number in the titlie page. i dont want to say it was all bad because i really do prefer a TWRP over CWM personally because of the added features and freedom.... even if it only "kinda works" lol but in the end i went back to CWM because it was just...well ... Safer. Sorry dude not a big fan of that particular TWRP I wonder if anyone else had major recovery issues with their um.. recovery lol??

im currently using CWM-Based-Recov-v6.0.5.1 and as of now i have Not had any issues with it other than the typical boring layout of the program but i suppose that's on purpose because CWM focuses on functionality not comfort-ability . if i can help i will.
I Need My TWRP
Just got the MetroPCS version, got past the FRP Lock, successfully rooted with KingoRoot and now I'm going to have to go without my beloved TWRP. That sucks. Tell me it isn't so.
How bad is it? Does the ADB work? Can it still flash zips? Images? I'm assuming that I run the T-Mobile TWRP. Okay then.
Oh and I should be able to run SuperSU, just install it and it will kick Kingo out. Does anyone know if that will work?

what have you found out so far? what works and what doesnt? i just got this device and would love your input on how to make this the best it can
I rooted my sprint Note 3 when I first got it three years ago and flashed it with a custom ROM. I used it for a year and then got a cell phone from work, so I basically stopped using the Note 3 except occasionally. I decided the other day that I wanted to try updating to a newer version of android on the Note 3. It's been a long time since I messed around with rooting, ROMs, and such, and I did not pay close attention to what I was doing and flashed a ROM that was incompatible. When I restarted, I got a Set Warranty Bit Kernel error. I can get the phone into download mode, but I'm unsure of what to do next to get it back to a usable state.
Is there a guide somewhere to walk me through this process?
Thanks!
Solved
Well, I got the phone working again. I basically followed this guide I found. I tried to paste in the link but I'm still too much of a noob. Anyway, it was on android central, and part of the url was how-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface. Hope that helps someone.
There was one step not covered in that guide - odin kept saying that the md5 value was invalid. I found a youtube video that said to change the extension of the firmware (it was .tar.md5, changed to .tar). After that, it worked and my phone is back.

There's guides everywhere on this site! Just gotta find the right ones lol. Makes it that much better when you finally find em. Next time make a complete backup of your phone first. I like to use TWRP, you can download it directly from the Play Store. I got my Stock Firmware from this archive:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-N900P
Make a backup of that then flash away! It'll be a lot easier/faster to recover with TWRP. What ROM did you flash to yours? Just curious cause every one I've tried had multiple issues to where I wasn't even able to use half my phone smh. Then I root it with CF-Auto:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
Through Odin:
http://odindownload.com/download/#.WYX1A4jyuyJ
Then I make a another separate TWRP backup of my Rooted Stock Phone just in case lol. Lemme know if you run into problems again I'll try to help find it and/or fix it. The more problems I deal with the more I learn! :fingers-crossed:
Might wanna get a USB storage or something too cause ALL these backups take up time and space. (My external SD Card slot hasn't worked for awhile!)... does yours?
