I came from CM 10.2.3 to CM11 Pound Rom after a full wipe with nuke. Everything works fine, without the BLN. On CM 10.2.3 it worked fine. It was activated in STweaks and because it didn't work, I installed Apollo Kernel but with that it does not work, too.
The problem is that the "Test BLN" works, but if a SMS or other notification comes in, it doesn't work.
Does anybody has an Idea?
The Rom came from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535113
The problem was caused by the rom, the infected build works great with gustavo kernel:good:

Can you tell me precisely what you did, because I have tried OmniROM, infected´s CM11 with both Gustavo and Apolo and none work =/. Test BLN works *sometimes*, but it never lights up on a notification.
Thank you VERY much I really need the BLN feature, it was the reason why i rooted my phone in the first place.

I looked around for another rom which has the same futures to test bln with it. So I found this rom:
[ROM][KK][4.4.2][LINARO/SABERMOD] CyanogenMod 11
With this ROM and Gustavo Kernel BLN is working and it saves more battery. Since then I'm using this ROM as daily driver, works great.
:good:
Edit: Oh sorry, you have already tested the infected builds :/
Did BLN work with cm 10.1.3? Is it activated in Stweaks? How high is your Key Backlight Brightness?

I never had 10.1.3, had NeatROM before and BLN worked flawlessly.
I am now running the latest build [ROM][KK][4.4.2][LINARO/SABERMOD] CyanogenMod 11 CM 11 20141205 with the latest build of the Gustavo's kernel (TWRP) - 05/01 also.
Test BLN now works every time, I can modify BLN voltages and see the result. But it *still doesnt light up* on notification . What should I try next? Reflashing, some better way of wiping?
I have tried reflashing, different kernels but they all exhibit the same behaviour - Test BLN works (sometimes or every time) but the LEDs dont light up on notification!
I tried OmniROM and infected's CM11. Gustavos kernel, Apolo, DorimanX... LED voltage control works, LED on touch works as well... BLN and BLNWW dont work.
Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this problem? I had BLN running perfectly normal on NeatROM with Apolo kernel.
The KitKat ROMs are really great and I would love to have them as my daily driver but the problem is that I really, really need BLN and got used to it (actually spoiled by it is a better word).
I have managed to get it to work. I wiped everything with GS2RomNuke, reflashed ROM and kernel. Everything works now!

WFM both with v13.7 and v14
I've used almost every version from 11 to 14... no problems so far.
Which kernel did you have before fk13.7?
Everything is working fine for me. Using franco kernel since v12performance.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App

Before that I was using the factory kernel, and the bluetooth was working just fine. I don't know what happens, maybe if I flash it again.
experienced same problem here
tho i experienced that on mik_os' cm7 port beta 6.3
but i found out it doesnt matters andy's or mik's or whatever kernel
i have tried the follows:
- unpair all connections of bluetooth before flashing kernel
- reflash the rom and kernel
make sure:
- dont restore anything about bluetooth with titanium INCLUDING bluetooth file transfer app and data, just clean install it back from market
and my problem was solved
hope this helps
I just upgraded to kernel 14.1 and bluetooth is working, thanks to all for your help.
Hi, I've used lots of different roms (JellyBam, Vanilla RootBOX, Omega, ReVolt JB, Resurrection Remix), and every one have the same problem with BLN. It works only when comes sms or mms, but when phone is ringing and I don't answer it, it doesn't work.
Do you have idea what can be wrong?

Install light flow from the Play Store, and set it up for missed calls.
I've installed latest JellyBam with Dorimanx 7.18 and BLN works great.
Thanks a lot for help
So Ive seen that many people are having the issue of Skype and Viber not being functional during calls, you can hear the other person fine, but they cant hear you. Ive been having this problem for some time, and i think it used to work before even when i was on a custom rom and custom kernel. Some say that you should try the microphone from the headphones, I did but with no luck. Does anyone know of a fix?
Im Running:
Rom: ParanoidAndroid 2.54 (the one that was still based on CM10)
Kernel: Siyah 1.8.6
Modem (didnt change it): DXLG2
I didnt customize anything else I guess.
Thanks

Finally, I found the easiest fix.
If your mic isnt working on skype, viber, or cant capture sound in the video camera, etc... just flash everything again.
i dont know if its a siyah thing or a PA or even a CM10 thing, but i know that ive flashed a couple of times before all of this and honestly what i can say is that theres some kind of bug that just brakes your mics compatibility after a few months of usage, so anyways, just reflash and your all good
UPDATE:
I found out that kernel changes also seem to break your audio, a simple fix of permissions seems to always work (now using temasek's custom rom as well as temasek's custom kernel)
I'm gonna bump this shizz
Update: sound is also not being recorded by the camera
Post in that roms question and answers .
or flash a stock rom .
jje
I wanted a fix or something to do that would keep me with my current rom, flashing stock would not be a feasible solution
hi guys,
I have Neatrom LSN(4.6.1) installed with the LSN Crt off animation mod. This problem occures with the original philz kernel as well as the newest dorimanx kernel.
Whenever my phone is on its lockscreen(pattern lock) and i push the powerbutton, the CRT animation activestes. The problem is that the screen turns on again after it turns off from the CRT animation. Does anyone know what causes this?
Also: could anyone explain to me what the "xxxx onset delay" in STweaks does in relation to the CRT Animation? I dont really understand it's description.
I also got SOD on the dorimanx kernel in an app after I pushed the powerbutton a second time without waiting for the CRT animation to finish. Is that common knowledge or is there something I can do to fix this(except not to do it and to let it play out).?
Thanks a lot
have to push Vibrate two times to activate it(the first time it jumps back to ringer)

I wish I could post this into the Neatrom thread but I need to get 10 Posts first -.-
Philz Kernel doesn't support crt off properly, if ur going to use Dorimanx then u need to edit a setting in stweaks, called something like fb suspense delay to 100ms and it'll work fine.
Or u could try a different kernel that supports it by default like apolo, speedmod or jeboo

I use Dorimanx and I did set it to 100ms and after that to try another setting,to 150 ms
Sadly that doenst change the fact that the screen turns back on after I try to turn the display off on the lockscreen
Same problem here...
I'm in stock Samsung LSN (deodexed), with Apolo kernel (it's a great kernel, btw).
When I push the power button while I'm on lockscreen, sometimes the CRT animation works fine, sometimes doesn't; and when it works fine, sometimes the screen turns on again in less than 1 second...
It's annoying...
I'm using this CRT-Off mod: http://d-h.st/YoW
Any idea of how to fix this issue?
Nobody knows?
Same problem here!

Hi again.
I think this issue is kernel related.
I was on Apolo kernel v4.5 and I was having this issue. But I installed Apolo v4.9 two days ago, and I haven't had this issue anymore, so I think that the problem has been solved just with the kernel change.
Can anybody try Apolo kernel v4.9 and confirm that the issue is gone?
Thanks you very much for having find my big problem.
Since the dorimanx v9.34 the CRT is buggy totally. I've the same bug than you !
Screen on / Screen off, change the cpu speed governor and consome a lots of ressources when it occures 300X in a night
SO i just turned off the CRT, and all is very FINE.
I'm on SlimBean 4.2.2 Sabermod with dorimanx 9.38 on i9100 device.
MANY THANKS again

I'm glad to hear that, mate, but I hadn't to disable CRT-Off effect to solve the problem. All I did is to change the Apolo kernel, from v4.5 to v4.9, and now CRT-Off effect works flawlessly everytime.
I used Dorimanx kernel long time ago, but imho, Apolo kernel is more battery friendly and works very well for me. Only one thing: note that Apolo kernel works only in stock based roms...
thx for help
Hey, first of all thanks alot for all the development and crazy amount of information going on in here
I have searched but unfortunately I couldn't find a solution to my problem so I'm asking here. I recently installed official Cyanogenmod 10.2 stable release on my i9300 international S3 (since CM11 gave me some bugs) and it's pretty great so far, but I've been searching a way to change the color settings of the screen. On CM there are some built in ones but I don't really like those. On the 4.3 Stock Samsung ROM there was "Professional Photo" or something like that that I did like. Does anyone know what I can do? If I understood correctly kernels can do that sort of stuff but I didn't find a kernel to suit my needs.
Thanks in advance

Yes you understood it correctly If your Planning to run a ROM based on CM Screen modes like Dynamic, Professional Photo etc Are available only through custom Kernel.
In Sammy as v all know you can change it under settings but for CM unfortunately you have to stick to Kernel Settings to do that.
Almost All popular Kernels Have that option under Screen>MDNIE mode
All you have to do is select the right kernel
Unfortunatly You asked a Question in this Thread and Also Gave an answer for the same.
Just remeber that for CM ul have to stick to some Externel Kernel as these options wont be available with stock CM 10.2 Kernel as well
Just as a recommendation give GoogyMax , Boeffla, Agni a try as these gave me really good results(Special Thx to Dev's of the same )

I've looked into GoogyMax and Boeffla but as far as I could tell they don't support color changing. If I do install them what can I do to change the colors?
And I have yet to install a kernel, does it come in a zip file that I can install in CWM?

Strange To hear that. Well ive never used Stock CM so cant Comment on that GPS issue.
As Far As Now the AOSP or AOKP Roms ive used have never Had this GPS issue. You Can Try Anyone From Below Thread (CM 10.2/1)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/10-04-index-roms-t2218825
For me i would have chosen between PACMAN PARANOID n SLIMBEAN . All are great for Daily use
Also Check out This ROM. MY personal favourite Amongst All. Bug Free and Stable , Archidroid but its KK

Yes CM is definately Smoother than TouchWIz( Thx to Free RAM ). But Try out the ArchiDroid Stock Sammy ROM. You Might Like it for its smoothness
