I recently broke my touchscreen on my Xperia Tablet z.Brought it to a repair shop. They did manage to remove the LCD without damaging it.But now they told me that the digitizer they ordered won't work with the lcd and that the two should be bought together. They also told me that Sony do some sort of tuning to make it work together. So is that true or are they just trying to rip me off?

Just my opinion, but a REAL repair shop would have investigated what must be done to repair a device BEFORE taking it apart. I suggest you forget the repair shop and send your tablet to Sony for repair.

Guys!
I removed my screen protector months ago, and my screen was perfectly fine and scratch-free until today...
The scratch-resistance glass screen got scratched... I don't know how it happened, but is there anyway I can repair this?
There are some ways to fix it:
1) Send it back to SE or the shop you bought it (May be expensive, depends on the warranty) - I don't know if you have a Insurance for your Smartphone, maybe they will pay for it)
2) Go to a Smart-Phone Repair Shop and let them fix it
3) I also think there are some Do-It-Yourself-Repair-Kits on Online-Shops (some kinds of Polish). But it depends how the deep the scratch(es) are - But I wouldn't advise this, because in 99% the result isn't that good as expected.
Hope this will help you
EDIT: I think there is also 4) change your glass yourself - But I realy wouldn't recommend this way if you have two left hands
EDIT2: Maybe this will also help you: How to replace X10 Screen
Scratch resistant does not equal scratch proof.

Hey folks,
My son dropped my phone down the loo. I put it in a tub of rice for about a week so far, it turns on, but the screen flickers on and off and doesn't react to touch. So wondered if folk had any suggestions or if they've used a repair place for this?
No it's not insured, yes I should have insured it.
Thanks in advance!
Service center is your only option, unless you are confident to buy spares and repair yourself. If you're lucky it might be only the screen needs replacing - otherwise it might be cheaper to buy a new phone.
don't attempt to repair it yourself, it's almost certain that the screen is not the only problem

HIi,
It would be great if someone could guide me as to how I can replace the USB flap and battery cover on my Xperia GO , I took it the service center and was told I would have to pick up a new phone with a 20% discount on the new one.. its just the USB cover that got cut.. feel totally ripped off with this purchase ... is it possible for me to do some kind of DYI stuff and replace these parts?
Would also appreciate references to aftermarket service centers to get this fixed in Bangalore,India
Although I don't own a Xperia Go, but I found a few sites that sell replacement parts for the covers.

You can try to order from them and assemble them yourself. Based on the design, it should be a simple push in. If you can't do it, bringing it down to a simple handphone repair shop with the parts and they should be able to do it for you (maybe with a bit of money). Should be too expensive.

I have this exact same issue. The flap has been pulled off the tether, leaving a small part hanging out the phone. I posted on another andriod forum about this and a Sony Tech member made a point that part is easily fixable but if the back cover of the phone is removed there may be issues with water? There's also a special tool to replace the back panel. I'm guessing equal light pressure and even tightening of the screws is all that's required, as well as taking care not to damage the O ring seal. Search for 'Sony Xperia go ST27 Service Manuals.zip' and you should find a link to download the service manuals for the phone if you like. It has PDF videos for a full teardown of the device.
I'm confident that the part can be replaced without taking the rear cover off. I pulled out the broken part of the tether with some needle nose pliers. I made sure the pliers were gripping the plastic and then gave a quick sharp pull and the tether came out. I had initially tried just pulling the broken tether slowly but the plastic stretched, and in hindsight it could have snapped and made things more difficult to remove/maybe? The new cover should be a matter of pushing the tether back into the small hole with some good tweezers/pliers.
Thanks for all your inputs.. Would be great if you could link to the service manual..

Hi.
I'm new in this forum.
I have a question for you.
I broke my z ultra screen 2 days ago and now i want to replace it ( possibly by myself cause high price ) but i haven't find anything on the internet.
I have seen this etradesupply.com/sony-xperia-z-ultra-xl39h-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-23072.html and it's a good price but i won't order it becuase i can't find any guide or something that help me to do this.
Have anyone ever tryed to replace it?
Will it be still waterproof ??
Please help me.
P.s : sorry for my english
a month ago i broke my xperia z ultra digitizer while i kept it in my backpocket. the lcd is working perfectly. but due t technical reasons u'll hav to replace the complete lcd+digitizer, u cant rip off oly the digitizer.its kind of nxt to impossible. the replacement of the screen is not tht easy as it is shown in different videos available on youtube. moreover u need to buy adhesive tape for the frames to refix the glass panels after u rip them off with blower.i would suggest get it replaced by some good technician. i got mine replaced $170 from local technician. the sony service centre asked me for $400

Mine was repaired by Sony Center for 170 euros.
It came back with front and rear panel changed and the little cover for USB connector repaired.
It's brand new.
But it's still locked to my operator
Due to a workplace accident I ended up smashing the screen of my Padfone S Plus. I replaced the screen myself which didn't quite go to plan as I must have damaged the digitizer somehow. I ended up getting another screen and digitizer and got it fitted at a phone repair shop. I've now got a repaired screen which I can barely use without docking it in the tablet as the touchscreen is just sluggish. Just wondering if anyone has one they are looking to offload.
Thanks
