Problem: I rebooted phone and now whenever i try to open themer as a launcher it goes to a black screen for a while, after a while it says themer isnt responding and if i want to close it. Tried rebooting and relaunching about 10 times
Edit: It was an issue with xprivacy oops!

I woke up to that problem today too. All I could do is long press the screen to bring the settings up, and switch back to Action Launcher.
I don't know what xprivacy is though.
xprivacy is an xposed framework module that works like appops, i basically restricted themer from everything and that was my issue

A reinstall of Themer may help here. If not let us know.

I recently started having this problem where I keep getting 2 notifications for texts after using 2.1
I use handscent sms and turned off all notifications from the default messaging app but they both still notify me of a new text. Its annoying itll vibrate twice, ringer twice. plus I cant even get the default sms thing in the notification bar to go away unless I manually clear it. Never had this problem for the months I had this phone before the update.
Anyone come across this or know how to fix it?
(oh and I tried a search but the xda search engine is down, it's down like 50% of the time I try to use it, so please no harsh remarks about a repeat post if this is one)

Google always works.
google brought me right to this post. so at least the next guy with this problem will be able to fix it if anyone has an answer....? I cant be the first one with this stupid double notification.
seemingly, after disabling notifications, removing the messages shortcut from the homescreen does the trick, although i havn't tried this myself.
you wont loose the messaging its still in your APPS list.
just tried it and it does work

I had the problem for the longest time. I eventually found out that it was the SMS widget in Beautiful Widgets that was causing the problem, even though you hadn't activated it. Uninstall Beautiful Widgets and see if it works.

Simply open messaging and select setting by pressing menu key...
Disable notifications...!!!
Worked for me. ;-)

i had the same problem a while back too. and by disabling the notifications it still didn't work. what i ended up doing was clearing the SMS center number under network settings and retyping it in manually. worked like a charm

I'm having some trouble with my launcher of choice, Apex.
Every now and then it will crash, leaving me with a black screen. The screen will remain black and the phone unresponsive for around 10 seconds. Then I'm thrown back to my home screen.
I'm assuming that it's Apex crashing, but there is no error message or dialog box of any kind, so I can't be sure.
This often happens if I click the back button multiple times to get out of an app, or when I am using an app and then click my home button. It does this with many different apps.
Is there any way I can start troubleshooting this? Logs of some kind? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm using apex (pro) and it works fine, maybe you clicking back several times is just making the app FC or just brain-farting android.
I have the Pro version too. And yeah at first I thought it was me causing it, since the last Android phone I had was running Eclair and I thought that maybe ICS doesn't like back button mashing... But the black screen also happens if I background an app using the home key.
It's really a shame because I'm loving Apex.

Hmm well that's really weird. Do a backup in apex, then force stop, clear data, uninstall and then reinstall it. See if you still have the problem. Also, see if the "keep in memory" option is checked, this should prevent things like this, or it having to load again when coming back from another app.
I had the same issues with apex, couldn't figure out what exactly caused the problems...for that reason I'm on go launcher for now.

It seems like this has solved my problem! It was unchecked, so I checked it and now it seems fine! You the man!
DidnĀ“t solve it here, as said above, it is already checked. Maybe an update will solve these problems in near future, it is really sad that apex suffers here.
It appears I spoke too soon, Apex still crashes/freezes for me.
I also tried Nova Launcher and it does the same thing.
I keep very few apps backgrounded, and I have removed a lot of bloatware. My phone should be a lean, mean machine... I guess I just have to live with it, maybe in the future a custom ROM will solve it.
If you guys check your logcat logs, you'll see evidence of apex crashing. I already contacted the developers and they said it's a known issue but are still looking into it. For now I'm using go launcher.. not so smooth, but lots of features
Had the exact same issues, switching to Nova solved the problem for me.
Yup same problem, back on touchwiz for now.

I'm not rooted..yet. But the problem that I am encountering is everytime I wake up my phone and unlock it, it goes to the last screen I was on or app. Its a minor problem but is there anyway to set it to always awake up to my primary homescreen. I'm on Nova Launcher if that helps.

Ah, well thanks for your information
is it just me or one of the option in gesture "Expand Notification Bar" collapse a little too fast like a 2-3 seconds after i pulled the bar down? or is there a setting to change that?
i think 2-3 secs is plenty of time to check whatever but i have mine set up as swipe down to show and swipe back up to hide it

Hi, the bar should stay down if it's been pulled down. Reinstalling Themer should fix this issue.
What device/Android version/ROM are you running?

It does stay down, but there were times it went and collapse on its own
I'm on slimkat 3.6 w/ quantum kernel and it's d2att
Also today when I tried to import my most used apps to favorite, themer crashed and wouldn't let me run again, I had to reinstall to fix it

That might be your problem. Running a custom ROM can lead to some crashes/bugs within Themer. We apologize for the inconvenience.
I'm running 4.4.2. No matter what I do, I can't get my the stock messaging app to stop sending me notifications. I set my default SMS app to Go SMS Pro, but I still get notifications on my lock screen. I tried enabling it and turning off notifications, but I still get a notification on my lock screen.
What am I missing?

A. I would avoid go sms like the plague.
B. I have them disabled in the stock app (needs to be set as default to do it) then set what ever app you want as the default but make sure all messages are read in the default app before switching.

I did exactly that but when I get an SMS the stock messaging icon shows up on the lock screen, and dragging it towards the "lock circle" opens up the stock messaging app.

What device do you have? Custom rom?
I have a Posh E500 (poshmobile.com/catalogue/titan-hd-e500/). It's not the greatest phone in the world (and almost certainly the worst named), but it gets the job done. Anyway it has it's own custom Posh ROM and I recently rooted it using Kingo. Hope that helps.

Then I am betting that it is the OS that is preventing it. What you cold try as you are rooted. You could try freezing the APP with Titainium backup. Not sure about Kingo as I never use that myself. But try freezing the app. You will need to pro version. Or you could just delete the messaging apk, but make a backup of it just in case.
I tried renaming the Messaging apk (MMS.apk). But all that did was disable the app itself, and not the notifications. I would still get a Messaging icon notification on the lock screen, only this time if I dragged it onto the lock icon it would attempt to open the app and then fail.

Thats because it was still there. Try removing it and rebooting. Just make a copy of the apk somewhere so if it breaks something you can put it back.
Cool, let me give that a try.

Didn't work. I still get that darn smiley face notification on the lock screen. When I drag it to unlock the device, the OS doesn't do anything at all.

Then it is built into their os. This is part of the issue with custom OEM roms. You could try using a different lockscreen.
Got it. It might be difficult, but I think I'll try putting a new ROM on it. Thanks for your help.
