Long story short: I have a nice EVO LTE that is missing the back-top cover. I would just slap a case on it and be jolly, but this cover apparently has antennas in it.
When searching for a replacement on eBay, I found that the prices were either ~$20 OR they were ~$100!! What gives?
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...&_nkw=evo+4g+lte+top+cover&_sacat=0&_from=R40
Sooo....does anyone have experience with buying new back covers? Why would the price be so insanely different for the same thing? Anything I should stay away from?
Thanks!
PS - I realize this is a question but it seems more fitting here. Feel free to chase me out with pitchforks and torches.
U can try aliexpress.com and ask the seller for antenna behind the top cover...
Be sure u have the right product and supplier. Just to be sure cuz its from china...
Fyi the price is right...

Do you still get a signal without the cover? Just curious.
You could always keep your eye on eBay for one that has a heavily damaged screen.
Also, did you try calling HTC to see if they sell it as a replacement part?
The antenna under the cover is for nfc

The one on the left of the camera/sim card right of the power button on the back panel it was a black sticker
This sucks I mean Is there anyplace I could just buy the sticker take the phone apart and put a new one in im sure it would be cheaper that 199$ =[ TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY TOO lol.
Did you take the back panel off? The stickers are usually warranty related so it may be a hard fight. Maybe just send it to a repair service? Might be cheaper then the deductible.

No I never took apart the phone just the battery cover then 5 year old tore it off lol.
If you're talking about the antenna that is fixed to the back cover, just buy a new back cover from Samsung, they are only $10.00 plus shipping and come with the antenna attached.
I bought a blue back cover to put on my white phone, however it didn't look as good as I thought it would.
^^^ +1, that is the NFC antenna, which you likely don't even use. But if you want to replace it, $9.99:

No If i could post a diagram I would but i cant unitll ten posts It is the sticker on the back of the phone not the cover right next to the power button. It is my antennae for sure I just cant find any where to buy it seems I will just roll with a wifi and bluetoothless note =[ happy birthday me.

I see where you mean now, but still don't see how that was accessible with just the cover being off without a screwdriver. And not sure what you mean by "sticker". Either way, 5 year olds are damn destructive.
The area is covered by a semi hard black plastic sticker. Still how a 5 yr old got their finger under there...wow

It seems I am screwed, unless there is somewhere that sells this peice or I could try my gazzelle idea maybe they wont notice it missing X-D because this pretty much sucks I mean 4g is fast but idk. if anyone has any suggestions. Man AT&T is retarded I want to cancel the insurance but it is sort of usefull if it breaks it wont be 500+ to get a new phone but still 199 =[
ouch........sorry to hear that.......g
Take your neice with you to an att corporate store. Hopefully between a cute 5 year old in your arms and your length of service through att you can get the store manager to sympathise with you.
Its important to go to a corporate location. Corporate store managers seem to be more willing to work with you than a normal store manager. Perhaps they can't or won't be repremanded as much? That's what I've noticed in my area though.

This is true for me too. Once I had a brainfart and forgot to turn off my phone when I crossed the border and in four hours I racked up a $349 international data bill. I went to a corporate store to discuss it, and the manager wrote all of it off. I have been at&t since 1980.
Okay. Stick sticker back on phone call Samsung and tell them someTHINGS things not right. DO NOT MENTION THE FIVE YEARLD TEARING OFF ANTENA. Go through the motions of restoring the device. When nothing works they will pay for Shipping and have it back in a week.... FREE.
Year free warranty manufacture defect. Go through Samsung.

I'm still on the HTC Thunderbolt, but I'm trying to get a used better one then that. The Rezound looks like it's got a pretty good community. How much does a good condition Rezound go for? Or should I just try to get a Samsung Galaxy Nexus instead?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
About $200. I've got mine for $175 in mint condition from craiglist one month ago.
Swappa is showing the 150 to 250 range.

Locally, they've been going for $100 here in Indy.
What about a rezound with a few cracks at the bottom? Running the leaked ics version...Not sure what to ask.
Btw Is there another place besides craigslist and eBay to sell the rezound?

So, fair condition and non-stock ROM? I would start at $160 but be willing to drop some... assuming everything else is in good condition.

It's actually stock, I installed the leaked ics stock version at the time. However whenever the phone boots up, it takes a minute to get start up being it goes through like twenty scans. Idk if that makes sense but I'm not sure what it's doing. I wonder if I do a factory reset if it'll erase the leaked ics and then download they official one. Hmm. I'll check out that site thanks!

Yeah, with the cracks I would say about $120-$150 is fair, at least in my market. New-ish used Rezound's in box are going for $200-$250 on Craigslist.
I just picked up another one off Craigslist for $160. Stock (on ICS update) non-rooted, S-on, with a few dings in the trim around the screen (but glass is nice). Included iBeats, stock and extended batteries with covers, home and car chargers, and car dock.
It's sad to see these phones going for so cheap. Id feel ripped off if I sold mine for less than $200

You can get $200 and it looks better if you tell people you're willing to meet them at a Verizon store to activate it. The whole bad ESN is a concern and some people wait weeks before they report it lost/stolen.

Hello xda. A few weeks ago I sold my S3 for $200 and purchased a used silver AT&T HTC one for $450 from an electronics reseller here in OKC, Cdr electronics. I'm outside of my upgrade window and really wanted the One so i figured this was the best and least expensive route. The phone was in almost mint condition. Not a single flaw except the common gap on the speaker grills. I didn't get any packaging or accessories, just the phone itself.
Now about 3 weeks later I've noticed dust and lint under the glass about half an inch in from the volume rocker and it's really starting to bug me. Obviously it's a hardware defect, but I don't have the original receipt, only mine from the reseller. Is their anything i can do? I can return it for a full refund in the next week but I'm curious if there is any warranty at all i can utilize. Would AT&T do anything for me? HTC? Anyone else in this situation? Thanks!
Sent from my HTC One
Since you didn't get the phone from AT&T, I doubt they will give you anything on warranty. HTC warrants the phone for one year from purchase or 15 months from manufacture. The serial number of the phone identifies the manufacture date. If you call HTC, I wouldn't tell them any information they don't ask for. Also, if you send it back to HTC, make sure it is in full stock form. No unlocked boot loader and stock Rom. Remove all evidence of tampering with the device or they will deny warranty.

What kind of warranty did the business give you on purchasing it from them? If it's a shop worth their salt, it's at least 30 days. Can you take it up with them? If not, I would call HTC and talk to them about it. Just as dborgo states, don't mention that it was used and you should be fine. One user on here got caught up by volunteering info he shouldn't have and it cost him money for repairs. Simple Yes or No answers with a few vague responses SHOULD get you what you want.

I bought a One off CL and contacted att when I found a defect with the back camera. They sent me a new one with no issues. They had even asked where I purchased the phone and I told them off of a third party. I used the online chat. If you don't get the answer you want on the first call/chat just hang up and contact them right back. You will get through to a person who is helpful. Good luck

The official HTC Warranty
I took a picture of the warranty card that came with my One, since HTC's website is quite obtuse and the info was impossible to find. Basically, the HTC warranty goes to the original purchaser and is not transferable to a third party. That isn't to say that they won't work something out with you, but you should also be prepared to pay for the repairs if they find out.

I would guess your best bet is to go through AT&T. They are pretty good about warranties on the devices they sell. If they show your line using a ONE it shouldn't be a problem. If asked where it was purchased just tell them it was a 3rd party wireless retailer. Worst case scenario, I'm sure HTC will fix it for you but more than likely they will charge you at least 100 bucks. At that point you mine as well return it and buy a new one directly from HTC.
Let us know!

Anyone have a source I can order a replacement screen from? I had Sprint replace the screen on my Evo 4G a couple of years ago and the cost was $35 total for a new screen & bezel. I went in to the same Sprint store and they said they no longer do it. Likewise I'm having a hard time finding replacement parts so that I can do it myself. In a previous life I was a Nokia repair tech so I'm pretty good with these things but I need parts. I'm seeing that some places sell a digitizer but I need the front glass. I may also need the next layers too as I've got some colorful spots near the bottom corners where it landed and cracked from. I saw someone selling something but it said specifically not for the Sprint version of the phone. Anyone know where I could get these parts preferably with a new bezel?
We were supposed to have 1yr contracts on our business account and since they took those away we're having to wait longer for upgrades and this is the result. If our account was the way it was for years prior we'd just go in and pay to upgrade our phones. I'm going to seriously reconsider staying with Sprint once our contracts are up this time around since this is no longer a selling point compared to their competition.
Thanks for the help! :good:
Looks like I found it for $69.99 here. Any cheaper anywhere? Any reason this one won't work on my Sprint LTEvo? Thanks!
Also, I just found this site which seems to sell the same part for about $10ish less. They also sell the housing for about $30 which I also need to replace since mine is fairly beat up. I noticed that they sell this one without a light guide for about $60 and then they sell this one which has a light guide for about the same price but it's B-stock. My question is what the heck is a light guide and do I need one? Is it something I need to remove from the old one that could potentially get destroyed when removing it to re-use or something? Please get back to me quickly so that I can get my order on the way so I can fix my phone before it breaks worser.
Thanks!

Just a quick FYI for you guys, I have not visited my local Best Buys (Milwaukee, WI) but I did call a couple and they said
they did not get any Samsung cases in at all for the Note 3. This would make sense since they seem to be back ordered everywhere.
This might be the first time I can remember recently that the cases were out of stock but the phones were not.
My local Best Buy did not have any accessories for the Note 3.
No official Samsung accessories at my local Best Buy but they did have the Platinum case branded Seidio kickstand case with belt clip.

I returned the two cases I bought at T-Mobile, that Tech 21 stuff is way overpriced especially for a folio case with no window at 45 dollars and a tpu for 35 bucks lol. I'm surprised BB doesn't have anything yet since they are selling the darn phone for 4 different carriers, I don't mind paying that kind of money for a case but it better be a name I can trust like Otterbox, Speck, Seido or BodyGlove. Went to Samsung site and even their S-View cases are on backorder, man I thought the G2 was going to be a ***** to get a case for but they had plenty of choices compared to this.

The Tech21 case isn't bad TBH but it just makes the phone too wide and tall! I know it's for that edge protection but still. A Speck Candyshell Grip would be far better for the same price!
