Hi there,
First time poster - So, "Hey guys!"
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (Hence the post in this sub-forum,) running on Cyanogenmod 9 (10/04) nightly.
For quite some time, i've had issues with loading videos from the youtube application on my mobile network. Wifi works perfectly fine.
Whenever I go to load a video, it always comes up with, "Connection to server lost, touch to retry."
I'm able to bypass this, by enabling HQ (On or off) and the video loads perfectly.
However, this is only a work around - The issue still remains. It's quite annoying, as It's worked once or twice in the past (This was when I was running stock, without root.)
I've tried everything I can think of. (Reflashing to stock (Rom and kernel,) rebooting, fixing permissions, clearing dalvik cache etc, etc, etc...)
I searched for this exact issue all night last night, and half the day today at work - All to no avail.
Does ANYBODY have the same issue and or know about fixing it?
Many thanks,
Josh
Uninstall ur youtube and install again from play store. Or try to remove google account and re-enter ur account.
I am having the same problems.
Does this not have something to do with the 4.0.4 data problem that has been reported?
Reinstalling youtube doesn't help me.

just refresh it a couple of times .. works for me
OK I messed about with different ROM versions and nothing happened even after a factory reset.
Also updating youtube didn't work.
However I have just installed the latest build 31 of Team Kang and installed an older gapps package from Feb 12 (instead of the Mar 12 package).
Youtube then updated itself automatically on reboot and now works fine off wifi.
It didn't have anything to do with 4.0.4. I stand corrected.

Hi people,
I am currently having this issue on my HTC Desire hence the searching of the entire XDA website for answers. Any help would be thankful.

I have a Galaxy S2 running CM9RC1 and I'm having exactly the same problem. I've tried GApps packages signed from March and April to no avail.
YouTube's mobile site works fine. The YouTube app works fine over WiFi. It fails to load any videos when I'm connected using 3G though and returns the error above.
I've tried a factory reset, cleared cache, uninstalled/reinstalled the YouTube app, tried enabling/disabling HD from within the YouTube app, tried a number of different APNs, selected/deselected the option to preload videos, ensured my flash player is up to date, reflashed CM9 and reinstalled GApps. I've been Googling a couple of hours now and I'm beginning to lose the will to live! :crying:
Everything worked fine prior to me rooting my phone and flashing CM9. I was originally running the official Vodafone UK ICS rom.
I'm beginning to lose faith that I'll be able to fix the problem so would appreciate any suggestions?
TIA,
Bob.
Edit: Well no sooner have I posted that I think I've managed to crack it. I navigated to Settings > Location Services > GPS Source, and noticed that the radio button to use the internal GPS wasn't depressed. I selected it, backed out and now things seem to be OK.

I'm having the same problem. My GPS Source was also unselected but selecting it hasn't made any change to the situation. I'm not sure how GPS can effect Youtube performance?
I've had the same issue with youtube on both my Epic Touch 4G (Galaxy S2) and Nexus 7 device.....but only at my house. Youtube works perfectly elsewhere. Can it be something with my home wifi network? The nexus 7 is wifi only and I have never been able to get youtube to work at my house but it works when connected to other wifi networks elsewhere. Also, my mother-in-law is visiting this week and her kindle fire will not play youtube while in our house, getting the same "Connection to server lost, touch to retry" error message.
All signs point to something being up with the wifi network but I don't know how to solve this issue.
Wound up being Comcast's throttled DNS. All good now.

Try looking at the apn you are on in your settings. Mine was on EPHRD. Moved it ti LTE and now you tube is working again.
I have the SGN2 WITH SPRINT.
disable "restrict background data" from data usage. or if you have any firewall apps disable it then try. hope it will work for you as like me.
sorry for my bad english
I have been using AOKP for a few hours and suddenly my play store says it says that i am not connected even tho i am connected to wifi and wifi does work because i went to a website in chrome. I also tryed loading play store on hspa+ and it still didnt do anything. Everything else works great and i love the rom otherwise, but this is really frustrating!
Its been a week now since Ive been getting the "server error" on my SGS3. Ive searched and tried ALL methods I could find and still no luck, Ive tried market enabler, rebooting, restarting, re-installing after wiping everything, VPN, another account and still nothing. I dont think its a google issue because it works perfectly fine on my old nexus s T_T. Please heeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!
Also, are the WIND SGS3 identical to the T-Mobile ones? The model numbers are identical except the WIND versions have a V at the end. Maybe I should select T-mobile on market enabler.
I had this same issue on my galaxy player 5.0 when I wiped the play store data. On market enabler I chose verizon and it worked and Its not even a phone. Did you try a factory reset?

Yea I tried everything T_T.
Hi
i got this issue simultaneously on my N5 and N7, both on 4.4.4
i received a google search update yesterday, and since google now doesn't work. it won't connect to network.
i tried removing and adding back my account... not working.
i then even wiped partition cache and did a full reset, but then again google now won't launch, and it tells me "can't connect o network"...
am i the only one experiencing this issue?
PS i did nothing between yesterday and todya, all my devices are stock, no root nothing. and it happened simultaneously on both my devices after the google search update....
You're not the only one.
I also with my HTC one M7 got the update and ever since cannot use the Now features for a lame excuse no network connection is available.
Of course there is running internet connection
I also uninstalled, cleared cache partition and app data with no help...
I guess it's either a server issue or a bad update for the app.
Already sent a bug report to Google earlier today.
and so far i've been trying every "solution" i read on the web for 5 hours.... nothing worked
No, it isn't...
As I already wrote, I guess either server fix or app fix will be the solution.
Probably nothing we can do on our side.
And it works, just like that this morning...
Im on Note 4 Tmobile, I am running the TEKHD rom, rooted and have xposed installed.
This is the message I am getting everytime I try to log on to Netflix, "sorry, we could not reach the Netflix service. Please try again later. (-9)".
I uninstalled all vpns and I uninstalled netflix. Then i reinstalled a new netflix still no changes. I also tried logging on from different networks to make sure the problem is not my network. Still the same results. Cleared Data and Cache too.
I searched through all the threads and tired to do the solutions but none worked.
