My Samsung Galaxy Ace 5830M wont go into download mode, but it will go into recovery mode.. I really need to access downlaod mode to update my ROM..
I have tried
Vol + * Vol - * power (Dont work)
Vol - * power (Dont work)
can i get the combo to go into download mode or any alternatives..??

if you get a blank sceen then dont worry about it. just press the volume up button. the odin will recognize your device
remove battery. press both volume buttons. connect usb while holding the buttons. then press volume up.

Just install the stock rom of your GalaxyPlayer
Odin mode: Volume Down (-) + Home button + Power when you should be in Odin mode
Run Odin select your Rom press start an wait

Are you able to get in download mode at lest? There is another way to do. First power on your device then when it's on hold the volume down button and the power button until the player shutdown then release the power button but keep holding volume down. This should get you into download mode. And then just flash a stock rom with odin. If you can't get into download mode then I can't help you.
Hi Gurus of this forum, I need your help (again)!
I just did a stupid thing. I flashed MIUI directly over CM10, which now puts me into boot loop (Samsung Vibrant logo ... CM10 logo ... install & fail ... Samsung Vibrant logo ... CM10 logo ... install & fail ...).
I already tried the following tricks with no luck (keeps rebooting):
1. Remove & insert battery, then Vol Up + Vol Dn + Power Btn (recovery mode expected).
2. Vol Up + Vol Dn + plug USB cable (download mode expected).
3. adb reboot recovery (of course it doesn't work - cannot even connect to the phone while it keeps rebooting).
I am not new to flashing & have done Odin before. But right now I have no idea what to do next? Any suggestion?
BTW I would prefer not to format/re-partition my internal SD 'coz I have tons of photos on it!

Wow it worked like magic! Why haven't I heard about this combo before?
This combo is used with Gingerbread Bootloaders
For Recovery - Lower Volume Key + Power Button
For Download - Upper Volume Key + Power Button

To enter in download mode - press n hold volume down + home + power on until u see the screen saying,press volume up for download mode or press volume down to restart. there press volume up n here is ur download mode
To enter in stock recovery mode - press n hold volume up + home + power on until u see the phone in recovery mode.
or flash cwm recovery but it will start the flash counter

The main problem is that it is BRICKED and also i dont have clockwork mod recovery installed. the phone has no home button. The physical buttons available are Power and the volume keys... PLEASE GUIDE ME TO GO INTO THE DOWNLOAD MODE. The way to get into recovery mode is pressing the POWER and VOL + key at the same time ...PLEASE help

i don't think there is download mode available in this phone

But cant enter in download mode
I pres vol down +home+power also vol up
Strange is this that on both way there is recovery menu
Then i install mtktool
And try to install recovery img
But now stock recovery not opening screen is black and reboot
And also now no sim means insert sim opetion
Well now what should i have to do
Plz hlp
Vol+home+power
When i pres there are some other options like
Test
Automatic test
Manul test
Clear emmc
Reboot
Etc
These are still available when i try to go download mode

In the galaxy quattro / win, press Vol + home + power, vibrating release power button keep the Vol + home
To enter in download Vol - home + power, vibrating release power button keep the Vol + home
Trick: , i briked my download mod leave odin prepared with the stock(samfirm), remove the battery, insert the battery and make the combo button(at the same time) download works.
I recommend this ( i used terminal emulator)
