NEWBIE MISTAKE
Here is the story;
I rooted my phone about 2 weeks ago, I wanted to remove bloatware.
I thought I was deleting a app called 'Kingsoft Office'
But I deleted my contacts app,
It kept giving me a error of
this process android.process.acore has stopped.
I cannot put a flash a rom on to my phone.
my sd card slot is broken.
So, I tried to use the adb method.
I needed to put drivers on my phone [which I found already]
I cannot due because I lost my administrator password.
So, am I out of luck?
thanks.
I have a BLU dash 4.0

Here is a screenshot of the error and stuff.

I just rooted my Nook Tablet, and eberything went well. I forgot to delete the "acclaim_-rupdate.zip" file form the SD card, and when I just turned it on, it reinstalled 1.40 on the device, or it went through the motions like it was doing so. I did not stop it because I figured that would not be good thing!!;p). It booted back up, and all at first looked the same, but the Android Market no longer works, the N button is back to its default setting, and some other apps do not work. I tried rerooting it by running the "Nook and Zergy" utility, but I just got errors. How can I fix this?
do you happen to have the Unrooting app installed?
If you don't google it and find the xda unrooting thread with the app.
See if it will allow you to download and install it.
if your able to install it( or already have it) run it. it should set your nook completely back to out-of-the-box stock.

Thanks! Sounded good at least! Just installed it, but I get some sort of error when I try to run it.
also
also if you are able to boot from cwm, you can try installing alberwertz gapps_and_root.zip file
i screwed up my root when the alpha cm7 came out and was able to install his root zip to regain access to the root apps.
i then ran the unroot app and after rerooted using his zip and all has been well since..
Not sure if this will help, but this is the error I get: Could not echojava IO Exception Error running exec Command SU working directory: Null Environment. Should I just do the 8 restarts and put it back to factory that way?

before do that, do you have cwm installed internal?
I was able to get this fixed surprisingly easy. I just reset the Nook back to factory by holding down the power and N button at startup. Evidently the tablet was no longer rooted after it ran the 1.40 restore even though the interface did not look any different. I then just did the root all over again! Thanks for the help!

Hey guys, hate starting new threads, but this time I just had to. Here's the deal:
First I had a Galaxy Ace. I rooted it, and used root normally for a couple of months. Then something went bazzerk (don't know how to spell bazzerk xD), just as it is on my new Xperia neo. My root explorer works flawlessly and I'm able to mount my system r\o / r\w when ever I want and explore all sys files. BUT, my ROM toolbox, GO backup, etc. all apps that actualy "touch" system files (I mean change or retrieve the above), freeze when a command is given. I.e. I want to move an unmovable app to the sd card. The file IS moved, but the app freezes on "loading". GO backup: I restore a file, it's completely restored, but the app frezzes on 99% even though the job's done. Why is this happening, and is there a way to fix it?
Thank you all, and cheers
P.S. This problem sometimes just vanshies, but it's back a few days later.
P.P.S. I tried restarting, taking the battery out, restarting SU, and restarting the freezing apps, nothing erases the problem.
Have to you tried to factory reset in your phones settings?
If you´re rooted check the superuser app and loock at the log
what does superuser state?

No, I think that would fix it but then I'd have to set back everything on my phone, which I don't want

Superuser says everything's fine. I already mentioned I can see all my root files with no problem. But when another app tries the same, it freezes.

Installed, checked. Says it's rooted. I'm using Superuser and it's reporting no problems. Still freezes when an app changes something.
The thing is root works, I mean I can backup\restore app data, freeze apps, etc. but after the phone does this, the app freezes, even though it's done. A very strange problem. Is there anything I could have accidently made to brake it (exept disallowing an app from Superuser rights, I checked that three times; allways allowed) ?
I remember that i faced such problems a few weeks ago...
some root file explorers denied me the acces to the root files while i tried to change a bootanimation
root acces was granted but it didnt worked
afterwards i tried another root file explorer and it worked fine
why ?
i dont know but something went wrong with the first file browser
Try SuperSU v0.95
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
Thank you all, it so happened that this version of Superuser didn't quite well support these versions of apps. Just changed the ROM Toolbox to a newer version, and it works perfectly.
:good:
apparently not working after root
noob here, I did my first root today, and have only been an android user for 2 weeks after defecting from apple since the first iphone. I was a jailbreak veteran of idevices, but I got bored with the stale bread, so I spent my taxmas on a Samsung galaxy s4. Specifically wanting the i9500 version so it would be unlocked to use on net10. I followed the steps from website, and video on Odin. And it looked like it worked perfectly. It wasn't until I tried to my photo gallery app to look at some pictures, and it crashed and wouldn't load. I had the same issue with a business calendar issue app that wouldn't open. I tried clearing system cache on gallery app but no luck. I'm afraid I'm in over my own head now, and might want to restore and start from scratch. The first thing I did after rooting was a full Titanium backup. only things that I installed after root was xposed installer and an app within the installer called swipeback.
I would like to know if there is a fix for this, without having to break away from root? Or if I must, how do I know which stock file I need. I know it's i9500ubueMk1 but there's many different regions.. I bought from a best buy in Charlotte . If there isn't a simple fix to fix why my apps aren't working, then the root does more harm than good, and I wanna go back to normal.
Someone please walk me through this!!
thanks

I had the same problem. Theres nothing wrong with your phone, its the app. Instead of root explorer, download root browser. It works better
Hey guys, I'm using the LG Optimus F6 (or D500). I rooted it today and started playing around, and now when I try installing any apk file I get an error saying "[app name] could not be installed. Free up some space and try again", however I have more than enough space on both internal and SD. I have no idea what's going on, and if anyone knows about this I'd thank you forever.
I'm going to list everything I did after rooting just in case it means anything:
Moved a few apps to SD and uninstalled bloatware
Tried to move chrome browser to sd by converting it to user app, and then it disappeared and I can't download it to the market due to "insufficient space"
Changed the boot animation in ROM Toolbox (which didn't work)
I'm not sure what caused it, but the issue appeared after I messed around with chrome with seems like a terrible idea cause I didn't really know very well what I was doing. Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it? Thank you so much!
What do you mean disappeared? The file must still be there, use es file explorer and search for it.
Otherwise you'll need to flash the kdz for your phone.

I assume I'm a little late to this thread but I placed an order for the Blu Dash Music 4.0 this evening. If anyone would be as kind enough to tell me which process they rooted (ADB or Framaroot), I can make a copy of the ROM on CWM and upload it.
EDIT:
I've got the BLU Dash Music 4.0 rooted and made a copy of the stock ROM via Mtkdroidtools. Since I cannot link it, PM me if you need a copy of it
please help me!

Hi Sin, I really need your help. I had also rooted my phone. I installed some apps like ROM toolkit and so on and something happened that I have no idea of. Now its stuck in a boot loop with the droid RAZR startup and then it says a "unfortunately (bunch of different apps) has stopped working" then it restarts. Im 75% sure I may urgently require the stock ROM. My email is [email protected] . help!

You're kidding right? Why are you playing with ROM Tool Kit "and so on" if you don't know for sure what you're doing? Sure recipe for bricking your phone! And before you started just playing around with a loaded phone, you did the FIRST thing you should do on a rooted phone...you backed up your stock ROM and your data, correct?
If your BLU Dash is now showing a DROID RAZR startup animation, you obviously flashed the DROID RAZR boot animation, AND/OR WORSE. Sounds like you need to flash an animation that is compatible with the screen resolution of your phone. You can also try using ADB shell and go into the /system/media folder and rename your bootanimation.zip file to bootanimation.zip.bak. See if you can boot up without hanging. You can always replace the bootanimation.zip file with one that is compatible with your phone.
If not, you will need to reflash your phone.
Hey all,
I've been at this for well over 2 hours now, never rooted before and it doesnt seem to be working following the guides found here on the site.
I recently "lost" all of my data on micro sd card and used DiskDigger to obtain the low res versions but with some research found out that rooting can access the originals but every attempt at installing supersu.apk says app not installed and KNOX just keeps kicking my @$$
I'm probably missing something very simple but haven't come across it yet, is there any way someone can help point my in the right direction? i've used odin3 v3.10 and it says success and the phone "agrees" but after it reboots it says "Unfortunately, SuperSu has stopped." soooo yeah stuck now?1
thanks!
