Just about 1 week now with the Venue 8 (4.2.2). Have not been able to get Flash to work at all. I can on my 4.0.3 phone. Anyone find a solution to this?
I tried "Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.81)". Tried the stock browser, Dolphin.. Nothing. Dolphin Jetpack also will not install either (install error -110 or -24). I wiped the tablet and tried it again, nothin.
I want to flash to watch Amazon prime video content. Shame, because for the price this is a GREAT tablet, I love the 8”, the Micro SD card reader and the lower resolution (older eyes, fat fingers) and of course the price.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I know you guys are the best at this. I really have been working at it, searching and posting.
Thank you,
Vacendak

Thank you, I'll try Puffin. FlashFox did work, but I experienced unusable slow performance. It's going back on the 15th...

Update, Puffin seems to work the best. However, it doesn't give the Flash frame full control of the tablet, meaning you can't show video to the edges of the screen. The largest I got was about 5.25x3". That's what I get for trying to make a pure Android tablet do what a Kindle does. Mine is going back, but this is a hell of a tablet for the price.
Thank you all for the help,

Yes I have it working.
The following link is how to install flash on a Nexus 7 but in reality it is for Android.
I have a Nexus 7 and 10 and it worked on them so I tried it on my new Venue 8.
Make sure you go to the link provided for the Android version you have.
It works on Firefox for Android.
But the Venue 8 is not supported by Amazon Prime.
Here are the supported devices.

This is the link on how to install flash.

Since doing the upgrade to the new 2.1.2, i can no longer view flash heavy sites like IGN.com. When i try to watch a video review, the video will play for a while, then the browser closes out on its on. Its not a memory issues as i always have 110mb free before launching my browsers, and i have tried both the market version of flash and the droid X version. This same situation happens with every browser that i have tried so far. This has never happened with the previous firmware upgrade. Anyone else experiencing this issue??
Yes I get the same with my A70. Firmware 2.1.2, stock browser and droid x flash.
Mobile or full site? Just getting to the page or actually trying to view a video?

Yup, just went over to ign and tried watching a video review, after the commercial of dr. Pepper which played stuttery, it tried to load the video review and then force closed the browser.
And I'm using Droid X version.
Did you let Archos know? They will work on bugs, but only if they know of them.
My 70 is doing this before and after the update. Most frustrating.
Please guys update to2.1.3 actually works very good with flash! And i was just on ign.com and watched a vid very smooth.
I actually have default browser jumping out to desktop even with the old 2.0.71, this happens whenever there is heavy flash video content. The flash either caused the browser to jump out to desktop or it'll just display a "!" sign after playing the video for a while. I think both are a sign of out of memory.
i have this exact same problem, have no idea why
Update to 2.1.3 [as newfierideout said] it is worth it, And will probably solve all your problems.

Updated to 2.1.3 same problem, browser force close trying to watch ign.com videos, it sees the ad video before tho
Edit: weirdest thing, i overclocked to 1200 and installed auto memory manager, set that to aggressive, and ign video review played, stuttering a bit seldomly with the speaker cracking sound. Then i tried a second ign video and the device crashed.

Same situation... agfer upgrading to 2.03 all works smooth with standard browser and Flash.
Some problem with Dolphin and flash... sometimes it closes.... but ... only sometimes...
I uninstalled the Droid version of flash and installed the one from the market, now I can watch ign videos! But it pauses/jerks sometimes lol don't know why.
I had trouble finding it in the market, even with the market fix, which I did many times.
Found this solution in archosfans:

I upgraded to 2.1.4 today and still get the odd web browser shut down when playing flash.
I think its more an issue of the flash not being the right one. Archos still hasnt released its verison of 10.1.

I'm struggling to get anything to play from these websites. I know they rely on Flash and pretty much the stock browser is the only browser that can handle it.
But I have been unsuccessful at getting Comedy Central's The Daily Show website videos and CBS full episodes to play at all.
Any suggestions?

Try Dolphin HD from the market -- it can handle Flash as well. I know I got CBS.com to work at one point but I don't remember whether I was using stock or Dolphin. I'm at work so I can't test right now (firewall filters).
The only way I can view The Daily show on my Prime is through the Hulu+ app and even that requires a hack to get to work on the Prime.
How do the tablet world survive with such a lackluster of Flash support? Most sites I use rely heavily on Flash.
I just googled daily show, clicked full episodes in google result, watching full episode of daily show in stock browser right now, double click video to go full screen. I also just installed the newest update, the .14 one. I am in the US, 64 gb Amethyst grey.
I am also in power saving mode, this new update is doing wonders for me.
Edit: I also have my plugins set to on demand, so I get a white box with green arrow, I click it to start flash, works great for me.

Stock browser man, no + here. I can also use a program called stick it, which puts a small window anywhere on your screen thats sizable and movable and the video plays great.
Now at cbs.com when I click a video it asks what program I want to use to view the video. I use stick it so I can do other things while the video is playing in a small window in whatever I'm doing.
Now to make plugins on demand:
1) Launch stock browser, go to browser settings, go to advanced, go to enable browser plugins, click it, has 3 options, disable, on demand, and load I believe, make your choice and done.
Edit: Stick it
This program is really cool and works great.
Just updated to ICS .14 and testing this out on stock browser to provide my input but cbs.com goes to mobile version although some full episodes are in bits I can watch them.
If I go to setting and check off "Request desktop site" I get full site and can still watch full episodes.

I had a similar problem when I just got my Prime. I cleared data and cache for adobe and the browser, and that seemed to have fixed it. You can also try downloading Adobe AIR as well but I don't think it actually does anything even though some people recommended it. Also I DO NOT recommend Opera or Stock browser when using flash videos, instead try ICS Browser+ or Dolphin HD.
hopes that help

Hi, here is a doubt / problem / question I have about the flash player in the TF prime..
I posted about this in the Android Q&A forum but I wasn't sure if that was the right place.. hence I thought I'll drop the question here as well, and I also saw the replies to threads in this forum is more than there..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651191
Can some please help? Thanks in advance.
Edit:
I checked again and it seems the Adobe flash player is installed and working properly.
But when I try to run some Java tests or Shockwave player tests, they don't run and it looks like they aren't installed / aren't working properly.
Now, please forgive my ignorance, but is it that Java or Shockwave do not work on Android OS or browsers? I have tried this with Opera browser for android.
Thanks and cheers..
Edit 2
Ahh.. this is driving me nuts.
Now when I try to open Amazon Cloud Drive through the browser (Opera), it says Adobe flash player is required and it doesn't seem to be installed in the browser and I should get flash player..
Whats this all about? I have flash player installed I tried to check in Opera settings to see if there was anything I need to change / enable but I couldnt find anything relevant.
When I try to install flash player from that page in any case, I am not able to because it says the OS isn't supported!!!! WTH!
Edit 3
I tried with Dolphin Browser HD and there it seems to work without any problem - I can access the Amazon Cloud Drive folders for example and other sites and I don't see "no flash" error messages with Dolphin!!!
Hmm...
That was the only thing to do, trying another browser, like dolphin or Firefox
Yes, I have now checked different sites with Dolphin browser and they all work fine, while they don't with Opera!!
So probably I'll stick with Dolphin HD for those sites, for now.
Btw, while searching for a 'fix' for this issue, I came across many places which suggest Chrome Beta is also 'amazing' and 'wonderful' and the fact that once it comes out of Beta, it will be the stock Android browser? Is that true? And how is Chrome beta on an Android phone or tablet? Is it better than Dolphin or Opera, in all functionality?
Thanks and cheers.
Edit
Well, I guess I jumped the gun there.. I tried some flash and shockwave test pages.. Flash is working fine but Shockwave player test fails even with Dolphin HD.. uufffffffff... I'm a bit tired now!
I thought when I bought the Nexus 10 that I would be able to do everything that I already do on my Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Note One and more. However, I am very disappointed to discover how much less I can do without Flash Player which is no longer supported on Jelly Bean.
For example, I can no longer use the stock Chrome browser or the old BBC iPlayer or new BBC Media player to watch live or recorded BBC programs. Nor does TVCatchup work or CMCMarkets where I trade for they also need Flash Player. I suspect that the ITVPlayer will also not work.
With Jelly Bean you are now relying on Web Sites to produce apps to enable their Flash Player content to be viewed and if they don't produce an app then you are stuck.
Flash content is still widely used on the Web and can be viewed using Windows browsers which are still supported by Adobe.
Most of the mobile Android browsers such as Chrome, Opera Mobile, Dolphin, etc. no longer support flash on Jelly Bean so if you need flash on mobile then you are stuck. I have only found one mobile browser which works on CMCMarkets and that is the Puffin browser but it constantly crashes and is not nearly as good as the Opera browser on CMCMarkets which I am using on the 7.7 and Note one.
I am very tempted to return my Nexus 10 because it does not allow me to do the things which I already do and which are important to me. For If I keep the Nexas 10 then I'll still need to use the 7.7 and Note for viewing flash player content on the web.
I'm surprised that others here have not voiced problems about the lack of flash player on the Nexus 10.
Wow....such a waste of a thread. Sorry you don't know how to search and see that there are plenty of browsers that support flash still and that the ones you listed aren't the only ones...
This isn't a problem with the nexus 10. This is jellybean. Adobe stopped supporting flash on mobile devices because HTML5 is taking over. Any jellybean device does not support flash. You can however Google search adobe flash apk and you can find the latest flash player and install it on your N10.

There's ways to get flash working. Look to nexus 7 forums for insight. We had same issue initially. All we did was load a stock ICS browser then a known working flash player apk. Now most of us have flash working flawlessly on nexus7. Don't blame nexus10 for flash not working. Its more of Google moving away from flash content. But as always when there's a will there's a way. Believe that xda users will have flash player working on nexus10 in no time. But you can look in nexus7 forum to see how we solved the same problem.

Thanks for your help.
I tried some of the Nexus 7 solutions such as using the stock ICS browser, or ICS versions of browsers such as Opera Mobile and Dolphin and various versions of flash player but could not get anything to work.
Unfortunately, I only have 14 days if I want to return the Nexus 10 and get a refund and perhaps look at the Microsoft tablet as a solution.
Get holo web browser, it supports flash or just manually install the old android browser and adobe flash apk.

Hate to tell you this but flash in general is going to be going away, replaced by html5, so at best you will be spending way more money , to have a few months of flash support, and using the N7 suggestions, I have flash working on the N10.
Flash is working fine here...
Sideloaded iplayer (and BBC media player), works like pants but as well as on any other device.
Sideloaded tvcatchup, works well.
Sideloaded Flash, using with dophin browser, works well.
Just get the .apk files and install this way. Or wait for developers to update their apps for the N10. You're an early adopter - don't be surprised that things are a little barren on the app front at the moment.
Just dealt with this on my father's Nexus 7. For some reason several of the browsers that support plug-ins/flash don't seem to after side-loading the Flash 11.1 apk on 4.1/4.2.
Give the Firefox Beta (direct from Play Store) and one of the available Flash 11.1 apk's that's floating around before returning the 10. It's the only combination I found to work on the Nexus 7 both on 4.1 and after flashing 4.2. Not sure as to why it seemed to be the only one to work though (Boat and Dolphin didn't work). Keep in mind that unless you enable plug-ins entirely in Firefox, you'll have to tap instances of Flash (and other plug-ins) on sites to get them to play - something that because Firefox rendered the "Tap to Play" image after everything else made me at first think it wasn't working.

Hi all,
Does anyone know whether Adobe Flash will ever work on Android 5.0 Lollipop (Nexus 9, specifically)?
Not a fan of Flash at all, but one of the reasons I am getting Nexus 9 is to be able to watch sport streams, all of which are unfortunately still Flash-based.
Thank you!

Dumb question: how do I side load flash?
I'm running L preview on my N7 but haven't had success with flash on Dolphin. Dolphin was updated a day or so ago so that it now works on L with Jetpack enabled. I just haven't been able to view flash video. YMMV. I hope it does. I will try again once the official os drops so I can flash it.

really? with each version of Android comes a code base change with new code added and old code deprecated/removed so yes each version of android does matter with 3rd party apps. no one is updating flash for android anymore so if its not already broken then it will very soon as Android is going the way of HTML5 not flash.
Well, my Nexus 5 with Latest Lollipop version can't load flash with this procedure (Dolphin+jetpack+flash), so maybe IT IS a matter of Android version...
WebView (the internal web system) now is based off of Chromium which has never supported Flash on Android. Final nail in the coffin. You can install it but nothing will be able to use it.
Is this why I can not watch any Amazon Prime Instant video?
Puffin seems to be working great for Flash content.
I installed the free version of Puffin and subscribed to the flash service. I made sure that in settings flash was set to load automatically. I tried to play some of the free Amazon Prime instant videos, the player would show the connecting/loading circle but the videos never played. I noticed the player was in play mode and not paused. Is there something I missed?

I believe the problem with Amazon has to do with the fact that they don't allow tablet access. I mainly use Puffin to view continuing education videos and it seems to be working fine.
