Which Rom and Kernel are the Best Rom for s2
I always like to chat, play games and use opera mobile
that mean: A rom+kernel with long screen time
Who can help me?

The galaxy S2 has always suffered from these problems, unfortunately. The only thing you can do is to buy an extended battery and use more thrifty GPS and 3G.
But you can follow these tips:
- Disable always the GPS
- Download and uses Greenify
- If you use the Wi-Fi off the 3G and vice versa
- Try to set the frequency to 1GHz, which is the original one of the Galaxy S2
Good luck

Sorry, there is no such thing as a best ROM. They are all the best for the people using them. As your signal/usage/setup/apps/sync all affect battery life only YOU can determine what is best for you. Back up, flash and try each out for a couple of days.

Sgs 2 battery compared to sgs 1

Hey guys sgs user here. I'll like to ask whether the sgs2 battery is better than the former sgs? Assuming using the same usage. I can't find any comparison out there. So please do share ur opinions. Thanks
For me with the same usage and stand by times, I find the SGS2 to have better battery life compared to my captivate.
I have this models, use both and made an experiment about battery life and the facts are:
- NO data, NO wifi, NO bluetooth, NO account, NO background sync, network mode GSM only.
- Galaxy S = XXJVS (2.3.5) + CF root JVS kernel
- Galaxy S2 = XXKI3 (2.3.5) + CF root KI3 kernel
Almost the same usage (only calls and sms), winner for battery life by far is Galaxy S. that lasts 3 days and 18 hours battery life while Galaxy S2 lasts only 22 hours.
Galaxy S2 have momments in day when looses 8-10-15 percents battery in one second without doing nothing like AndreiLux describe in this thread.
Samsung must do something with this!
My friend has SGS1 n he curses his battery life after comparing it with mine SGS2 ... truly SGS2's battery is better

[Q] best ROM for best Batterylife+ other tips&tricks to do it more battery friendly?

[Q] best ROM for best Batterylife+ other tips&tricks to do it more battery friendly?
Hi!
I was wondering if someone can recommend the most battery friendly ROM out there for the moment for Xperia S?
I wonder since I have had both GB and ICS from Sony and I don't feel that they are that good as the Xperia Play was or are that smooth as users write that it is, it jsut feels like it's a hype about all that :/
And for the moment I got KA's latest ROM+kernel and it isn't good enough battery wise, and I'm now wondering, if someone can give me tips about the most battery friendly ROM out there for Xperia S or if Custom-ROM users can report their batterylife and with which ROM and Kernel+ if you use some other tweaks.
and more than ROM+kernel, feel free to give me other tips and tricks about saving batterylife.
For the moment I have turned the light down as much as I can, don't have any live wallpaper, turned ouf Data+everything else and it's still eating battery and the device battery life is the worst in my whole phone history, even my Nokia 3310 was doing better than this :/
Thanks in advance for answers.
Best regards RazerBlader and excuse me for my bad Enlgish, I tried my best.
decreasing CPU speed and LCD brightness !!!
hey bro...how are you...first i want to tell you that i had the same problem...upgrading to android 4 was terrible cuz i had just 300 mb ram free...on gingerbread i had 400-500mb free...
2) the performance of gb is much better than ics...so after trying some kernels...different roms...i just hold my way from changing roms e.t.c.
i decided to flash the ( KA10 speed rom+ics kernel) ..first you have to unlock your bootloader and root your device..
here comes the interesting part....download CPU tuner...free of charge!!!!
and set the min. frequence of your cpu to 192MHz and max 1GHz.......1GHz is totally enough...decrease the profiles you youse....like the screen off ...set it to just 192MHz single core!!!!
BTW all settings are with just one core running.
after testing these setting i got this result:
2 days 19 hours 52 min 34 sec with Battery...still 30%::::
Display was 1 hour and 23 min on with a brightness of 25% ...totally enough...at night when chatting on whats app...brightness 0% and everything is clear.
music player 2 hours
calling 37 min.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
so with stock ICS without changing anything..and without a cpu tuner:
13 hours 18 min 3 s with battery
i got
display 25 % just 39 min on
music 20 min
and calling 17 min
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
in few words...if you don't use your phone much ...these setting are very helpful for you....or you can decrease it a bit more...
and if you need speed you can boost it up with a click.
with 192 MHz singlecore...you get perfect sound with music player screen off and its fluent and smooth playing...
IN fact:
less speed---more battery life--not so smooth --but ok
more speed ----less battery life---soo smooth like baby oil..hehe...and Nitro .
_________________________________________________________________________________________
use the speed of xperia s on demand....i mean just when you need it.
i hope i helped you out

Oh, tanks a bunch, it really helped me a lot since I didn't even thought about this, and I will use CPU tuner without eving consider not to and it was the best advice i have eard in a real long time, and i can leave with the none-smoothness and I bet it will perform even better with that app on JB when CM10 is more stable so I definitely gonna go with your advice and thanks once again, I really appreciate it a real lot!
And you really did helped me out since i bet this is all it needs since the hardware is very battery hungry and don't that battery friendly at all as you wrote
Only time I bet that we gonna use it is when we can hook the phone up as a computer with the Linux-project that is going on, other than that, I don't feel that I have the need of this power more than in games when playing, and when it comes to get the better resolution and smoothness through HDMI to the TV, especially with the XBMC-app running
Thanks once again a bunch!
another advice
hey bro again...
sorry for the double post...but i have no permission to change my own post...anyway..
I just wanted to give you another hint for even more battery life..
a few minutes ago...i read the new Speed Kernel v3.1
it has VOLTAGE CONTROL....you can control the voltage "the energy that your battery "eats","uses" control.
doom kernel also has this feature in his own kernel..but believe me you will have just failure and errors with doom lords kernel.
i respect his work..but i just want to help you ..from my own experience.
so speed kernel has a flash able and also a fastboot file...but a advice you to use the flash method.
dont forget.....use it at your own risk.

Thanks once again and thanks for sharing your experience, I guess I will flash it tomorrow since it's one hour past midnight here and I guess that the CPU tuner has voltage control or I will have to search around some for an app that can help me
And I guess that no one is sorry for that double post of yours since it's really helping me out

[HELP] Cannot manage to get acceptable battery life

Hello guys, i took my secondhand SGS2 coming from Xperia Arc, witch gaves me up to 50hrs uptime on light usage, at least 36hrs on hard usage. On I9100 i cant have more than 12 to 14 hours, even on light usage (few calls only, no browsing) and if i get it on hands, i already had it empty on about 6hrs of usage.
Already did several cycles, calibrated using Battery Calibration, reseted Fuel Gauge Chip using STweaks lots of times. No luck. Running Greenify to hibernate social apps and weather widgets. I dont use 3G as long as work and home have wi-fi spot.
On my first dual-core device, Atrix 4G, i had similar results as the mentioned.
Specs>
SGS2 I9100 - 16Gb internal SD
Kernel: Dorimanx 9.38
ROM: AOKP Milestone 2
Any clues? Sry bout the BD english >0

EDIT> I just figured out that i posted on the wrong forum, i had many opened tabs searching for information, sorry about this. Could a mod fix my mistake? Thanks in advance.

How long does your battery last and what is your per hour drain ?

Mine Usually lasts : 1 Day 14 hours (avg)
Per hour drain : 1.8-1.9%/hours (avg)
ROM : Temasek
Kernel : Boeffla
Even though these are user dependent values , still getting to know avg values and which leads to best battery life would be good, so that others who want can shift to X ROM+kernel or follow some tricks to get max out of this phone.

I day total and 3 hours SOT normally.
Stock Samsung 4.3.
I've used SlimKat 4.0 for the last month or two, and the battery lasted like 16 hours or so. I did not change anything of the rom (kernel or config).
Now I'm back to a lited stock rom and I think the battery will last the same amount of time more or less.
It depends on where you live and your provider.
I use Temasek ROM + Boeffla kernel (UV -50mV). Battery drain when using mobile network (not wifi)
Here in Belgium (Telenet/Mobsitar network):
Hourly drain: 2-3% (sometimes up to 6%)
When I was in Dubai (Etisalat):
Hourly drain: 0.5%/hour.
So yeah, the quality of the network does have a huge influence.

This isn't solution. My sister has stock everything but trust me, it heats a lot when using 3G.
set cpu 1200mhz.. or 1000mhz.. but its reduce your performance.. n become slow..
Sent from my SM-N910C (custom rom note 4) using XDA Free mobile app
Is that CPU temperature or Battery temperature
Probably battery, and it's really high. I never seen more than 50 on my s3 even after couple hours of playing with connected charger.
Try different, original battery because if battery is at 55 than your cpu is ca 80 or more.
