[Q] Best recovery to use to date? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

What is the best recovery to use for the Verizon S4 i545? I'm currently on MK2 and it appears the only recovery available is safestrap.
Is there anything better? If so, what makes it better? Thanks.
Is it possible to unlock the bootloader for MK2 yet?

You can't downgrade to MDK. You can only reinstall the same version that you currently have, or update to a newer version.
There are no versions of the Verizon GS4 that have an unlocked bootloader. There's a method for MDK phones to bypass the bootloader lock (loki), but that's it.
At the moment, all you can do with MI1 is use safestrap and ROMs compatible with the stock MI1 kernel.
I have read that people have downgraded back to MDK with JTAG but I have also heard it is very risky and I would not know which direction to point you in.

Update to Casual for unlocking 4.3?

Does anyone know if there is going to be an upcoming update to the Casual software for unlocking bootloader on the newest firmware (MJ9) on the verizon galaxy note 2?
Or is there another tool for doing that?
I mistakenly did the OTA from verizon and I now I am unable to find a method for unlocking bootloader to install a custom recovery. Is safestrap possible for note 2?
thanks

I agree it worked for rooting the device, but I still can't install custom recovery, which means the bootloader is still locked. Anyway to unlock that?

[Q] Looking for a one click root . I am running Android 4.4.2

I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (SCH-1605) that is running android 4.4.2. I am currently out of contract with Verizon and I would like to start installing custom roms on my device. However, the latest OTA update has my bootloader locked down like Fort Knox. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

You can use a method in the general section to get root, which isn't one click, but you have to unlock the bootloader to install custom recovery to flash roms which can't currently be done on 4.3 and up for this phone.

In a word - NO. Even going back to the MDK bootloader is not possible once you have taken the OTAs. And even then, MDK is still locked. The likelihood of the bootloader getting unlocked is slim and none. Kexec is the next choice and even its development has slowed as it is very hard to crack the bootloader issue.
As is often repeated, read the FAQs and search topics before posting.
To install anything other than a TW based rom, you need to be on the MDK bootloader. Once you have a newer bootloader than MDK, you are stuck with TW based roms and Safe Strap.
