There must be something that I'm missing with the Note 2 and Note 3.
Rooted stock, then went to Bonsai, then back to rooted stock.
I made a backup each time in TWRP. I tried restoring my backup of Bonsai tonight, but it fails. Tried reflashing the rom (same file I used last time), and it boot loops. Tried using the rooted stock backup, and it fails.
Tried reinstalling stock root rom, and it bootloops. Tried another rom, and it boot loops.
I wipe after every install and restore attemp, and wipe cache and dalvik after each.
I had the exact same issues on the note 2. Any suggestions or ideas? I'm ready to go back to HTC or something...
I still can't get my phone to boot....I also noticed that when in recovery I cannot mount usb storage....wtf
Downloaded the stock file to flash through odin and it's failing....whats the deal with these phones...
Is there anyone here who can help.......
When you say the stock file, do you mean the MJ4 tar file? If that doesn't work, you might try one of the older files and see if that works and then flash mj4 again.. Outside of trying that, not to sure. You might try sending that guy freeza a message, he seems to be the go to guy for this phone.

It turns out that TWRP did something with my efs backup and that caused the problems. I found a script that I flashed in recovery and now it's working again. Flashed back to bonsai but my lock screen isn't working and I don't have a power menu. Any suggestions or files that I would need to flash for this?

I use collective tools, but you have to be running one of their roms. You can grab Quickboot from the market. ROM manager should probably not be used with the Note. I would uninstall it. You could always use the old fashioned method....power and volume up and down.

what is a "linario" build? Can you link me to one that worked for you?
All I want is a stable ICS ROM to run on this thing....
I have never used a Vibrant before, I am doing this for a friend and I am kinda playing it by ear. This phone is so crazy, coming from a Galaxy Nexus this thing is so complicated, lol.
airplane mode thing didn't work, it cannot find network.
It is doing this with any 4.0+ ROM I try, and every time I flash a new ROM it keeps changing recoveries on me, I've gone thru like 5 recoveries...
Not only that but half the ROMs won't flash, and I cannot find a GB ROM to try out to see if I can get radio working again.
And how the hell do I get into download mode? vol dn + Power just bootloops the splash screen.
This phone is so insane.

Thanks a bunch man, here goes nothing.
I got into a bootloop of Doom in recovery, so ODINed stock 2.2, now I have to root/flash again :s will report back
sigh....
did an Odin stock flash, used the toolbox to root, then used the toolbox to "flash custom ROM" selected this ROM,
it starts to flash then reboots, then gets into a recovery mount error, and restart loop, so now my recovery is borked, looks like i have to Odin AGAIN.
Is there a better way to flash this ROM than the toolbox? I feel like it's using a bad version of CWM or something. Once i root it, what do I do?
edit: I'm going to Odin stock while I wait for reply
Usually when you get into a boot loop all you have to do is go back into recovery in reflash the rom. that should take care of the problem but if it doesent you can always just re wipe and reflash the rom again then reeboot recovery and flash again. don't forget to flash the gapps I c s version

It might have been because I chose to install the Saber kernel. I will continue my testing throughout the day. Everything seems perfect so far

You should never use *228 on an lte device. It usually cooks the sim card. I would go to stock and probably get a new sim now. A ROM usually can't affect signal unless it's an AOSP ROM, but if that's the only variable changed then it would make sense to undo it.

Awesome. Thanks so much for informing me of this.
So something went wrong when I was trying to flash a rom last night and I got stuck in boot loop no matter what I did, long story short I had to odin flash stock note 3 NAB using this and now I have no service. Under status, the IMEI, baseband, etc. are all unknown. I have tried 2 different stock .tar files, as well as flashing just the modem with no success whatsoever. Can someone please help me, I must have done something wrong to not get a signal or anything after flashing.
Try activating it under settings

I tried that, i don't even have a signal so it won't even activate, it's almost like there is no radio at all.
Do you have an X over signal bars?

Try ##72786#

Yes there is a red x over the signal bars. And 72786 brought up a blank screen.

You either have an active phone or you do not. That should not be happening. Grab the Rwilco12 one-click and try again.

The r wilco one click was the first thing I tried, I'll try re downloading and start again from square one. Something has to be wrong the os will reboot every hour and I get a lot of messages saying hangouts, YouTube, or other Google Apps have stopped. If it makes any difference I was coming from cm11 to 4.4.2 stock when all this occurred, I did a clean wipe before any flashing

It makes a difference, to what extent I'm unclear.
I think that that you may need to do a complete nuking of your entire internal and external cards, or at least pull the external prior to doing the one-click.
AOSP roms were hewn from that which resided on our phones at the time they were originally released, that being 4.3.
You're upgrading to TouchWiz KitKat, and you may have traces of the old OS spread across your device.
One wouldn't think that, but I'm unfamiliar with AOSP roms, so I'm merely using inductive thinking.
Perhaps one with knowledge of those roms could weigh in on this.

Thank you for the help btw. How would you recommend going about a full wipe. The last time I just used twrp advanced wipe and selected everything

You do that, and then flash the one-click. Sorry if I didn't answer sooner, but you didn't quote me, so I wasn't notified via email that you asked something.
You'll have to reroot, and reinstall TWRP, but you'll be back in business in no time.
It's my understanding that once you're on TouchWiz KitKat, you'll be able to go back and forth from AOSP to TouchWiz with ease, but the first time it's this or nothing.
I hope this helps.

Update: So I nuked my phone (removed sd card, wiped every check box possible, even hit format data), and used rwilco's one click (redownloaded a new copy). Good news is the error messages I was receiving stopped as did the random reboots. Bad news is I still have no service... Anyone have anything that might help me out? At this point i'm using wifi/google voice to text and skype to call, but it kinda defeats the purpose of a cell phone when I can only use it at home/work.

You need to contact Sprint and have them reactivate your phone, or at the very least update PRL and profile.
You should have data back within fifteen minutes, as that's how much time it takes for it to propagate throughout their network.
Sounds as if somehow your MEID has been taken off of the grid.

Well I work for radioshack and logged into snap for my account, everything looks good on that end. And they can't push my PRL if I'm not even receiving a signal. I'll try manually pushing my service and see if anything happens on my phone. It's got to be either my kernel or modem I'll take a ss of my phone status and post it

This happened to me after flashing over team blaze ROM. I thought it was the ROM so I flashed over my back up and still nothing. Ended up flash back to stock and still didn't get any signal. Dialed the ## code and got stuck inside the hands free activation screen and I'm still stuck on that screen. Can't update my prl or profile. I need to force stop it for it to stop. Called Customer Service THE Did Their Thing And Got It to work but I still get the activation screen. But force close still works.

Use the tar provided by freeza, for this one situation, there is a small chance the one-click is not getting you there.

Also, try updating your PRL via WiFi, or flashing same.
Finally, let me know if you have a clean backup of your EFS.

Please tell me if you have a good backup of your EFS. Doesn't matter if from Jellybean or KitKat.
