Hi all, I am long time lurker on Xda , first I want to say thx to the best android site and community on the Internet.
Now I have small problem.
This is what I have:
4.1.2 stock jb v20h rooted (euro version) p760 variant of LG l9
I accidentally deleted system app called live wallpaper picker and I don't have its backup. Now I can't setup live wallpapers(live wallpapers crash at when launched obviously) , otherwise system work fine.
I wonder is it possible for someone to upload that apk so I can just regularly install it again without need to run factory reset? It's kind of tedious to do factory reset just for live wallpaper picker because system works really well atm
Thanks in forward!
almost same here
i acciddentally deleted stock gallery and cant install it back and have lots of problems now with my phone bad info is that factory reset didnt help

Which version? I used v2.5 on already rooted Xperia Tablet S 4.0.3 release3 to jump all the way to release6b and lost all vendor apps in process.
I then test tried my titanium backups to restore the Walkman App and when I try to run the app it force closed walkman every time tried to run.
Then I went and did a factory restore and all vendor apps returned but lost anything and everything personal I ever did on the tablet, which I expected.....but root survived the reset so that was good.
And Walkman App is still broken and force closes every time I try to run it.....
So do you know what to do? Thanks for help......no replys on the dev forum.
OK Now FIXED!!!!
I installed from the vendor0 folder location and it works.
I think if anyone has missing apps after using Flasher tool, go to the vendor0 folder and install them from that location. If that doesn't work do a factory reset and dont worry because you dont lose root.
I think in my case I hosed things up by trying to restore using titanium backup....
Anyway, problem solved....thanks for all your help.
someone plese help me!
i've got a samsung galaxy s2 hd lte (sgh-i757m)...and i'm having problems finding much information for my phone on here...i know its older, but i just got it...i finally managed to root it using a galaxy s3 sgh i757 root....here is my problem...i'm sooooo confused!....when i rooted it i kept the stock rom that was on there... ics 4.0.4....and it had the dialer and the contacts apk that i love...the one you can slide left or right to call or text....since then i've updated to cyanogenmod 9, and love all the features of it, but it looks like it has the jellbean contacts apk...the real ugly white one that can't swipe left to right to text ect....I've found some downloads of the old contacts apk, but am having no luck installing them!....I've even tied restoring to the old stock rom, then copying the contacts apk into the downloads file, then re-load cm9 and move the contacts apk into the system/apps folder to replace the one's already in there but no luck.....this is soooooo frustrating!.....
.i have to admit i'm a bit of a noob...but both my stock rom and the cm9 show as 4.0.4, so should the contact apk not be transferable???? and why are they different in the first place!!!....I've enabled unknown sources to allow third party apps, and i've changed permissions in the apk to rw-r--r-- and replaced the contacts apk then reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache then reboot, and nothing....then i've tried to install apk.......and it shows installing, and the working blue bar, then just says "application not installed"...wtf???...i'm so frustrated!....is there something i'm missing with the owner/groups thing?....i just really want to make this happen....i've spent at least 12 hours on it already.....
please help!!!!!!
Hello,
I bought a Z Ultra 2 days ago. After I activated it I have been prompted with 2 notifications: 1 that was asking me to update to the latest android and one that was asking me to update for the latest Xperia software update. First, I did the update for Android. Second, I did the update for Xperia software. My first question is: I did good by updating both - or I should've updated only the Android and not also the Xperia software? One of them changed the looks of my homescreen, the size of icons and not only, but I am not sure which one.
I am thinking of making a reset to factory settings and to do only the Android update and forget about the Xperia update. Would it be ok to do that? Which one changed the looks of my phone?
Thank you.

You have already done both, so they will stay there even if you do a factory reset. You'll only be able to revert by reflashing stock firmware.
Don't worry, updates are usually a good thing, especially on the Z Ultra.

I'm guessing you're talking about the bigger launcher icons. That's how Sony has made them now, and yes, they're bigger than before. I wouldn't downgrade an operating system just to have smaller icons on the homescreen. You can:
A. Use the older KitKat version of the launcher.
B. Use a different launcher altogether (recommend Nova and Action Launcher)
C. Change the DPI (Dots-Per-Inch), making everything denser (i.e everything will be smaller) - Root required.
with the new 5.1.1 update, you can resize the home-screen icons.
You have a choice between Small and Large. You can access this through the home settings.

Really? I thought that if I will reset to factory I will get what I had when I took the phone out of the box. Is this the usual way for all phones or is it only on Z Ultra? So it means that it is useless to reset it, because I will still have my updates?
Also, I should have done only one of the updates (latest Android update / latest Xperia Software update) or it is ok if I did both? On other words, the normal thing to do is to have both updates done, right? I ask because Xperia Software update was reconfigurating some android things so I started wondering if it good what I did - but still, the phone kept on asking me to make the Xperia update.
Second question: I did installed Buzz Launcher and I changed some themes on my Z Ultra. I decided to not use it, I deleted all data from apps for Buzz Launcher and Buzz Homepack and after that I uninstalled them. I have a feeling that my phone works slower after I had Buzz on it - is it possible? When I deleted all data from the app uninstaller in the settings and also uninstalled them, did I erase everything from this app? Should I do a factory reset?
Thank you in advance.

1. No, that's how it is on every single OS in the world. If you had reset Windows 10 on an old machine, it wouldn't magically revert back to Windows Vista or something. An OS update replaces the current OS with the newer one. If you want to get back to the older version, you'll have to do it yourself by manually flashing a firmware. It would be ridiculous to do that for some smaller homescreen icons though.
2. Yes, it's fine.
3. The app is uninstalled and gone, but there might still be a folder left on the internal storage, so install a file explorer, like Solid Explorer or something and see if there's a Buzz folder somewhere. If yes, just delete it.
Hello there. I want to ask you guys If you have a system ui for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5120. It is running Android 4.1.2 offical Touchwiz frimware. I accidentally deleted system ui by root browser because I want to custom my tablet. I found one system ui apk at xda but after I replace it, the notification bar disappeared, can't open recent apps, can't play Easter egg, wallpaper became black etc. I tried to reset it but it was still same. Unfortunately, I forgot to make a nandroid backup, so what should I do?
Good day folk! Pardon my intrusion, this is urgent, i plan to have this answered before boarding the flight in a few hours.
Here's the while story. I learnt that latest update has rendered screenshot feature impossible, so i plan to bring it back. Here're some solutions i can think of right now...
1. Install older version apk and overwrite the installed version [failed]
2. Uninstall updates of chrome since it's built in app, then perform option 1. (havent tried)
3. Root or adb push... [takes too long and too tedious for me]
Option 2 is what im contemplating at the moment. However, i risk losing all chrome's data. When I perform 2. , can i recover the app data? Ive signed in to chrome and synced the data to google account. Is it safe now?

Thanks in advance pals, btw, anyway to show gratitude in this forum?
