You can just ignore the yellow traingle. Only if you want to send it for repair or something, then you need to remove it and put the counter back to 0. If you want to know how to do this, use search.

flashing a custom kernel (.tar file only) via Mobile Odin won't let that triangle show up ever again.
Sent from the little guy

Philz and apolo kernel can be flashed with odin without increasing flash counter 》》no yellow triangle
After flashing one of them flash any kernel/recovery/rom you want
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Or use Triangle Away. With the PhilZ Kernel, however, the flash counter does not increase.

Yes the flash counter rises when you flash via recovery you can use a custom kernel and the tringle away app from chainfire will reset your flash counter after you have flashed a rom. Simply after you flashed a rom install a custom kernel and then use the tringle away apk to get rid of the flash counter..
You can also get rid of your flash counter by using odin to flash your stock rom back..

WOW! That was completely inaccurate! No! Flashing in recovery does NOT increase your binary counter! Flashing via MobileODIN does NOT increase your binary counter! Only flashing non-stock builds via PC ODIN will increase your counter. Furthermore, if you have tripped your counter, going back to stock will NOT reset it. The only way you can currently reset a counter is with Triangle Away.
So anyway, just don't flash custom ROMs from PC ODIN, and you won't trip your counter. Flashing from recovery is fine!

If your counter is tripping everytime you use recovery to flash, either you're doing something wrong or your handset is frakked! Either way, the information you posted was grossly inaccurate. Good day!

Completely inaccurate.
Flashing via Odin will raise your flash counter, mobile Odin doesn't and neither does cwm.
Flashing to stock via Odin will NOT revert your flash counter to 0, it will only remove the modified status from system info under settings.
Triangle away will revert the flash counter to 0.

The 1 is there from when you flashed a custom kernel via Odin/cf root via Odin.
If cwm was tripping it every time it wouldn't be at 1, it would increase.
Edit: I just realised everything I said has already been said. Either way it still stands.

Wow you sounded so sure of yourself it almost made me believe you. I was thinking why do i bother using Triangle away when I could just flash stock rom lol
Anyways what the rest say is true. The only real time your counter will increase if when you first flash a recovery or rom via Odin on pc. After that if you stick to using CWM it will remain the same, wether that be on ZERO or anything else. Triangle away will reset that for you
So how dangerous is Triangle Away
Okay, thank for everyone of you, but how dangerous it is to use triangle away. I got it in my phone but haven't used it yet.

Ok. I seriously to know why this method has failed for you.
No problem, try this.
To gain ROOT access,

2. Flash Siyah kernel via Odin
To remove yellow triangle and reset your binary counter:
1. Download triangle away app ( i already posted the link)

i dont no why ur so much worried about the 'Yellow Triangle' thing as if it will simply Gobble ur phone, its quite common to have that yellow triangle once u root ur phone, which all of us have gone thro' already.
Also removed that yellow triangle successfully with the 'Triangle Away' app for sure ma8, so no need to worry.
go ahead and root ur phone using the .tar file of siyah kernel v4.1.4 and then use 'Triangle Away' app to remove the Yellow Triangle

its ok buddy, its quite common human nature of people getting annoyed since they trying to help u and urn't taking there advice properly in the first place
now brief me a bit, like for the first time when u tried to root ur phone with the CF-root kernel u mentioned in OP , what procedure u adopted
im not sure if this is why i got the yellow triangle problem but what i did was i accidently downloaded a wrong firmware model and i flash it.after i flash it i keep getting this yellow triangle.
oh ya about how i tried to root my phone with cf-root
1.i downloaded the XXLQ5 cf-root.
2.i downloaded odin and flash my phone with the cf root.
3.after the odin software said pass! i took out the usb cable.it started to reset my phone but i got stuck where it said "samsung s2 gt-i9100 with a yellow triangle down the text".
4.i have to flash a xxki3 kernel then flash the ics/gingerbread firmware model(exp.ics 4.0.4/gb2.3.5 any model will do.) to make my phone back to normal.
so basically i cant get pass the yellow triangle everytime i tried to flash something.

It will stay at 1 as long as you keep using modified kernel and recovery.
If you want to reset it completely; find a stock firmware, fire Odin, use triangle away, reboot to download mode, flash the stock firmware and wait for it to boot.
After boot completes reboot to download mode and check the status

With stock firmware you will lose root so Triangle Away won't work. You have to do it BEFORE flashing the stock firmware.
So it looks like this;
1. Find a stock firmware
2. Use Triangle Away with currently installed firmware and reset the binary. If it fails change your kernel to another one which specifically supports Triangle Away and retry to reset the binary.
IMPORTANT: Do not reboot after using Triangle Away.
3. Reboot to download mode and flash stock firmware via Odin

download mode....and this is what i found in chainfires thread:
Note#2: on new devices like the SGS4/SGS3/SGNote2/SGNote8/SGNote10.1 etc, the "system modified" status can only be reset on some firmwares - they must be stock firmwares!

- My counter always stays at 1
Some devices/bootloaders set the counter to 1 at every boot if you are running a custom kernel or recovery. On these devices, Triangle Away may always display 1 - make sure to check the counter in actual download mode, and make sure you are running a stock Samsung kernel and recovery.

This is what I've been suggesting from the beginning. You can get a false positive while running a custom fw since binary updates at every boot. You have to Triangle Away and flash a stock firmware than check the binary again.
System Modified flag and Binary Counter are same thing located in different places, bootloader and Android. If you get rid off the bootloader one (with triangle away), after getting stock system modified in android will probably change to official.

Hmm.. triangle away has always worked whenvever i use it.
If you want to get rid of it that badly i suggest you go back to stock (to remove it) and then flash a custom recovery.. and then flash PhilZ kernel. It wont affect the triangle.

can you suggest me a custom recover and give me the link for philz kernel? thank you!
Depending your rom kernel code, you can find his thread here
Please help me. My Galaxy S2 show Yellow triangle on Start Logo. And then stuck at Logo. What can i do.
If your phone is stock & isn't rooted, boot into recovery - factory reset. If your phone is rooted & is running stock earlier or older than Android 4.0.4, boot into recovery - factory reset. If your phone is running rooted stock Android 4.0.4 or if the factory reset doesn't work in other examples, get stock rom from Samfirmware, flash with Odin in download mode.
'My Galaxy S2 show Yellow triangle on Start Logo. And then stuck at Logo. What can i do' doesn't even make it remotely easy to give you help. I reckon I've done a pretty fair job given that though. If you want help in future, you need to tell us everything about your phone (rom, Android version, etc) & what you've been doing with it recently.

[Q] yellow traingle after cwm :(

hi all,
i just purchased this S2 I9100 handset from one of my freind..he had rooted and installed some kitkat resurrenction mix custom rom which i did not like
i flashed cwm through odin but when it rebooted in yellow traingle..i cna go into cwm recovery mode by presiing (vol up+power+home), yellow triangle appears briefly and then cwm menu appears..but when i select REBOOT SYSTEM it again goes into yellow traiangle..
i have searched on net and right now downloading stock rom from sammy I9100XWLST FOR indian s2 i9100LKAINU
my question is if i just flash this rom thru odin will the triangle go away? odin or copy to sd card and flash via cwm?
or do i have to download kernel seperately also,..where do i find if yes?
thanks

If you still want to, you can remove this triangle. But it's not doing any harm, so you can leave it like it is. Just so you know.
