Well, i guess you have to pay for the repair.

Is your IMEI correct is the first network question .
If not restore your backed up EFS folder .

did.. even used efs pro to try to fix... imei is correct the same as on the box. only serial number changed... strange thing is that i can locate find networks that are available in my area but i cant connect to mine...
Basics that you may haqve already tried are
IMEI then Modem then CSC
Manual setting of APN for mobile network can be used for wrong CSC .
Faulty Sim is another on the list .

tried all above.. only thing is that i cant change csc * # 272 * # imei aint working.. not registered to network is my msg..
apn are correct as i flashed stock form sam firmware. so i dont know..
sim - i used 4 dif no luck.. all are working on other device..
what makes me worried is the serial number, that is preventing my phone to get connected i believe
so here we are... IMEI is corrupted - i was noob and i just quick checked the number on box and under the battery, but after further inspection i have spoted difference between the imei in d phone and the actual on casing / box. so its corrupted. thats why i am unable to register to network.
somehow it get corrupted during the flashing process... so now i will try to restore the imei from the scratch... i am not sure if i iwll be able to perform such a thing but i will try my best.. any tips wil be apreciated.

It's amazing how many people have lost their imei and serial numbers from just flashing.
Flash back to stock, use triangle away etc then take it back. Hope you have warranty.

its amazing how people still think.. just get over it and read my story.. _--->my phone was purchased by me in vodafone store, after one week i cracked the screen ... fall off my pocket. no warranty anymore. now i wanted flash cm9 due to flash player was needed and my imei is lost.. its a generic now 004..... so i am screwed. i need someone with some knowledge and feelings for such a mistake like this.
I know what you are going through, my first droid lost the imei the first day I bought it, no warranty.
So far I haven't seen anyone solve this problem. Did you back up the imei? There is a post from someone who said they are trying to fix it and would post their results. Another user has had some idea of how to fix it, I'll try and link his post.
Really feel bad for you, it's made me stick to stock until i see some development concerning these losses.

We are so manny that have tried alot here, but our SGS3 have turned into a PDA and no use Tried earliere to create a guide or get one that worked after installing a MG4 ROM, but did not have any success and my phone still have the genetric IMEI, everybody says restore your EFS backup BUT I don't have any of those.
Know here is a solution for it, but have not foundt it yet, alot of people are crying ablout this that our fones are useless.
Moderators says stop posting and read 1000's of other post that have the same problem, but when I don't have found any or nobody have PM'ed me with a solution, then I ask before everybody is post about the same problem.
Can anyone make a stiky post with some ways to restore lost IMEI or guide us true a restore of a rom that reads our IMEI correct again?

Step 1) restore efs backup
Step 2) try reflash original rom
Step 3) if you were ever on mg4, ensure you stick with mg4 baseband
Step 4) send for repair
There's your guide.

You were not alone my friend. I had same issue and same levels of frustration for days.
You could have seen my thread but it was sgy specific.
"Solution": Use odin flash stock rom firmware with "Clear EFS".and "Repartition" checked.
The above was only solution that worked for me. I recovered imei.
Once restored I took backup of EFS using galaxytoolbox app on playstore and copied those img files to pc for future emergency.

You can't find a solution to EFS corruption when not having a backup, because there isn't one! If the three suggestions by RootSU don't work then no amount of crying is going to fix your phone, send it for repair.
All the guides and stickies have good advise on what to do before you customise your phone -backup your efs folder keep it safe.
EFS Pro link here .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
Its already proven that stickies are of no use as all the stickies saying backup your EFS are ignored in the first place .

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think i9300 users should only take advice from other i9300 users, when we're talking about things like efs which differs considerably between Samsung models.

I suppose if you are desperate and going to need a paid for repair then any trick posted will be tried .
But a significant proportion of bricked phone are due to advice not for that phone .
In some cases an IMEI repair may be done under warranty but the more you mess about the greater the risk of having to pay for a repair .

I'm using a galaxy s3 gt i9300, android version 4.1.2, baseband version I9300XXEMB6. I currently had installed a custom rom ''Sotmax_Ultimate_Stock_V23_XXUFME7_HD_AR'' I managed to install it but when the network service provider requested the handset configuration (picture shown in the attachment) i clicked ok but then another pop up message appears saying ''temporary error occured in application. please try again later'' (picture shown in the attachment) I thought it was probably the custom rom so i reinstalled the stock rom of galaxy S3 but still the problem is there so until now i have no network connections on my phone .....so if there is anything i can do please help

You need to provide details of what modem you are on.....I'd your imei starts 0049.....and it looks like it does, then you have probably at some time had one of the new format modems, so you need that (probably MG4) to get your imei back, unless you have a back up of it which I doubt.
Read read read read learn learn learn read read read learn more......then flash.

No you will need proof of ownership and a Samsung repair centre .
Check first did your custom rom backup efs
there is no any efs folder.
what should i do?
did you try to flash an emg2 or emg4 baseband? some have reported that this can restore network connection
i didnt try it yet,

ariza patch is for serial no not imei.it does not help withj the new modems and may actually make things worse.
i tried to flash alot of roms so far, nothing helped.
the problem is the the devide was bought outside the country and there are no service center for that device..

hi there all - just bought an s3 from someone on gumtree - tried it with couple of different simcards and it worked fine... it had ics on it (csc xxale8) so i though i will change it to jellybean - so following a guide here i have downloaded stock firmware BTU (UK generic) and flashed it using odin. than put a sim in and boot and it asks me for sim network unlock code... any idea what is going on?
FYI i have reset the flash counter before flashing the rom and wiping data and cache
any help?
Some older methods of simlock break after flash. Also latest releases, non of these methods work anyone (the free methods).
I'd imagine you need to buy an unlock code now. If you do, get one that will refund you if it fails
_
I'm assuming you've flashed mg4

You root it before flash?
You make a EFS backup before flash?
Did you already check what imei shows your phone with *#60#
thanks both!
yeah flashed mg4
the ics installed when i bought it was already rooted
i have not backed up EFS prior to flash but rooted and backedup EFS after flashing JB
I have checked the IEMI before flashing which corresponds to the IMEI on the box
any one can recommend an unlocker which will guarantee unlocking or money back?
I think cellunlocker can help you but, if you already have a backup of your EFS folder try to flash others modem here in xda is an mg4 especially to work with all roms, a few days ago I try it because cyanogenmod roms have no signal and after flash that modem it love because give signal to all roms, you don't loose nothing try, before spend money.

Forget modems. This cannot help you now. You need to continue your search for a recommended unlock code provider.
