[Q] Samsung S3 I9300 Rooting Android 4.3 Build JSS15J - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am trying to root my phone, running on Android 4.3 Build JSS15J. I stumbled upon the S3 Toolkit, but my version nr. and build aren't included, and I wouldn't know which build to pick, to safely run this.
I have also tried Framaroot version 1.8.0, and it provides me with the Aragon option, which is an exploit that's not available sadly.
Has anyone successfully rooted this version, and can guide me in the right direction?

[Q] What build should i choose? (Samsung Galaxy S3 Unified Toolkit)

Just as the title says.. I'm wondering what build I should choose from the list when using the Samsung Galaxy S3 Toolkit V7.0.0. My build number for my S3 is JZO54K.I9300XXEMG4 (running Android 4.1.2). There's an alternative for JZO54K.ELLA (Android 4.1.2), should I pick that one instead since it's the closest one option?
I'm open to all suggestions since I really want to root + flash my device tonight (the first time I'm rooting a device).
Thanks in advance,
RedRetro
Preference would be for TWRP or Philz Recovery .
Suggest you read the faqs and guides before flashing that we the risk of a brick or no network or no booting is reduced .
Basics read first.

[Q] Is there a Universal apk root file for android 4.4.4

Hi
Im looking to root an andoird 4.4.4 phone, as the phone is chinese and not mainstream its not possible to unlock the bootloader or find a custom rom to flash superuser onto it. I notice if you have an htc device running 4.4.4 you can use weaksauce 2 to root them and samsung devices can use cf auto root. Is there a similar universal program that will work on other manufacturers phones.
Thanks

There is no such thing as a universal rooting app. Too many different configurations of the system, security, and lots of other factors. Not all HTCs can use Weak Sauce, nor do all Samsung devices have options for CF Auto Root (and they are all different as well as many need to use the particular variant's kernel to root - very NOT universal). Post the details of your phone here such as brand, chipset, and build version and you'll have a better chance of someone chiming in with a way to do so other than searching for generic solutions.
Thanks for getting back to me, the model number is: Turbo_Mini_F1 the Kernel version is 3.4.5 build number is DOOGEE-S1-Android4.4-Bar05-2015.01.31.
The chipset is MT6732 Quad-Core 1.5GHz

[Q] Need help with upgrading Android version 4.2.2

Hi, I own a Chinese phone which is BML One Mini (also known as a Spreadtrum SC6820) which has Android 4.2.2 on it.
I was wondering the steps on upgrading/updating the Android version from 4.2.2 JellyBean to 4.4/5.0? Since on my phone, I do not see the 'system update' option, I have gathered that the only way to do this is via a custom Rom.
If anyone would like to give me some advice on what/how to update my Android version to something higher then I would be very grateful.
Thanks,
Edward.

Looking to Root, and install CyanogenMod

Hello everyone.
I am looking to Root my T-Mobile Galaxy S5 (G900T) phone. It is currently updated to Firmware 5.1.1 and the Baseband version is G900TUVU1FOG6. After I would like to install the most stable / secure version of CyanogenMod.
I looked at a few other topics on these forums, one being the compliation thread with all the roots , patches, etc but it says it is not possible to root anything with FOG6. (This thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo.../compilation-s5-g900t-stock-firmware-t3042400)
Is that thread still acurate?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Also looking to get a good recovery to make this process easier.
Inaccurate/out of date. I had it rooted the day the kernel source was released

S5 active root

I have an AT&T S5 ACTIVE (G870A) on the OF3 Baseband version and 3.4.0 Kernal version running Android 5.0. Is it possible to root on Android 5.0 and keep Android 5.0 for the G870AxxxOF3? If not, is there a way to downgrade, root, then get back to 5.0? I've rooted A G870A before, but on 4.4.X. I have a little knowledge of what I'm doing, but take that with a grain of salt, as I'm seeking help on something I'm barely familiar with. Thanks for any help.
You can check the s5 forums. I don't think there is root for that device. I have one on 5.1.1 and there is no way to root or to downgrade.
