I tried that, I tried everything. Even flashing a new firmware, non worked. I went to a local store, and he also flashed a firmware for me and he said the WiFi part itself isn't working, so I will have to pay about 110$ to fix it. I don't know, it was working perfectly, I went to the bathroom and then went back to chat with my friends and found it off. I really have no idea why this happened.
Anyways, thanks for the help.

If you have android 4.2.2 xxufme3 on i9300..then change it because it has wifi problem..

Android WiFi tether not working

Hey guys I was searching and didn't see this in the forums. Recently I've been able to use WiFi without a problem. All of a sudden today it stays on for a few seconds than says what the heck? Your phone took over WiFi connection! Shutting down WiFi now! Any idea what's going on?

Are you using Green Power or Juice Defender or an app like that? If so, turn them off.
Nope.

I've used the newest tether app and barnacle and neither works. Tried settings that other puerile have used, ones that worked for me before, uninstalling, reinstalling, wiping cache, nothing wants to let it work anymore.

Wiping your system completely should fix it on cyanogen at least.
I was about to do that but wanted to make sure before I went to that extreme. Have so much crap loaded I'd hate to have to reinstall everything, even with titanium backup.

Odd, the only time I've ever gotten that error is when I forget to shut off Green Power.
Your wifi keeps turning on when you try to tether. When this happens, are you near a wifi network that your phone can connect to?
Nope. Ended up wiping and starting from scratch. haven't restored everything yet but it works. Weird issue. Thanks though

Wifi just randomly broke

Hey guys. This morning my Wifi was working fine before I left home. I came back and now Wifi won't work at all????? I thought it was my rom at first because I was on a hellraised rom (checkrom). Ps. I did not and have not flashed anything for the last couple of days.
I flashed three roms in total from here in the att. Unnamed, serendipity, and sho stock. But the result was the same. I even tried different kernels but it just will not work.
Any help will be appreciated.

Just restored a nandroid restore of the stock att rom and still nothing

Router up?
Some flashes have been known to dork up the wi-fi until a factory reset wipe.
Just a thought.

Exact same thing I discovered when I flashed.
Would turn right back off before discovering anything, and also too quick to manually add my node.
Under, Settings/Privacy/Factory data reset.

OK. I just did that but it still does the same thing. Do I need to flash a different rom and then do it again or what?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
O yeah and I had restored a stock att rom in clockwork when I had did the factory reset if that has anything to do with it not working.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Not sure.
I was on UnNamed 2.2.1 when I flashed back to the Return-to-stock rom.
That's when I saw it. A quick factory reset did it for me.
It's just random. I think I'm gonna take it back.

Same thing happened to me after installing the Siyah Kernel, very frustrating.
Edit: After installing Unnamed 2.2.1 the issue seems to have gone away (haven't been able to a wifi network, but wifi is staying on now). Will update later.

reset wifi radio?

I have a weird problem where, after a couple days, my wifi just stops working. When i turn it on, it just cuts off after about 40 seconds. Normally(when working) it will show a list of available wifi networks, but now will show nothing(when I know im by numerous networks)
This has happened couple times before, and just passed it off as a quirk. Now is the 3rd time, and the only way i have found to fix it, is to do a factory reset. Surely i cant keep doing that(and having to resinstall all apps)
anybody has an idea of what problem could be?
(LTE works fine, and im not doing anything strange when all of a sudden it just quits on me)
so basicaly im trying to find a way to reset the radio, without resetting the whole phone....
Try flashing just the radio in cwm

[Q] Internet Connection randomly dropping?

Hi All,
I have been having an issue for about the last 2 weeks or so where I will randomly see in my notification panel (when I pull down) that it says there is "no internet connection" and I cant seem to figure out why. This happens about every 2 days or so.
I try to toggle air plane mode (on and off) but it does not fix the issue and I am forced to reboot to get the connection to restore. I searched for something similar but didn't find anything.
I am dual booting with Siyah Kernel and my main ROM is Dark Paranoid and my secondary ROM is Wanam Lite (Samsung based). I use the MAIN ROM 99.9% of the time and it is here where I am seeing this weird drop of internet connection. I am OC'd to 1.6 but NO UV of any kind.
Is anyone else having this issue? Can anyone advise on what I can do about it? I have not flashed a new Modem since owning the device so maybe that's the issue? I'm in Canada and the device language was Dutch I believe when I first booted it after I bought it. Obviously this is the I9300 International version. I'm on Rogers Wireless in Canada. Can anyone recommend a good / new modem for it maybe?
Please advise.
Thanks,
I suggest you wipe caches and dalvik caches

I had a similar problem, have you toggled fast dormancy? I turned that off and it solve my problems with data.

I do wipe these probably every couple of days just to keep the device at "peak performance" but the issue still happens...

Ya know?... I haven't even thought about "fast dormancy" being an issue on this device but now I remember having a similar issue on my SGSII.
Do you have the dialer code to get to that menu? I will give it a try and see what happens...

Well I tried the "fast dormancy" app on the Play Store and my data speeds went to sh!t... I don't know if this is the answer for me...

(Q) wifi automatically turns on?[solved]

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like I can't keep my wifi off.
Every time I turn wifi off it gets turned back on by itself.
I'm sure I'm just being a complete noob and missing something.
Stock unrooted latest update.
Was ok before update.
Any help appreciated.

Sounds like Sprints "Connection Optimizer" here, I think there's a way to disable it, but I just deleted the APK from the system folder, are you rooted?

Settings>connections>more networks> mobile networks> connections optimizer then uncheck the box.

Awesome thank you folks. Knew it would be something simple.

After you uncheck it, if you're rooted, use TB to freeze or uninstall so it never comes back to haunt you. I've been freezing apps until I decide if they're fully safe to delete and that I'm sure I won't want them.
Not Sprint but note 3 having the same issue
My phone is not sprint. I'm using an international version of note 3. And having the same issue. Could you please help me with that?
(Note: device is not rooted)

Connections optimizer isn't onlyfor Sprint. Fix is probably the same, but might be named differently, but similarly.
