after fixing bootlopp IMEI problems - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

it started when i was using offical firmware jelly bean 4.1.2 (I9100XXMS1) rooted and i wanted to flash Cyanogenmod 11
to do so you need CWM recovery 6.0.4.4 at least but i had philz touch cwm based 5.0.x.x. (that kind of cwm i had with root)
so i downloaded CWM recovery 6.0.4.4, copied it to my sd card, entered recovery mod and flashed that CWM recovery 6.0.4.4..
so if im not wrong i flashed different version CWM recovery that i had..
because of it bootloop started.
somehow i managed to restore my phone back to working status. i had a lot of problems like "cant mount E:/ efs" and bootloop all the time but now almost all is ok
almost except IMEI...
i used some SGII_repair app so now i have signal but my IMEI is different than before.. no idea how to restore it.. why i need it? cause i cant enter my sim contatcs
and no i did not backed up my /efs folder before so i cant just copy nv_data.bin, nv_data.bin.md5
no idea what to do now.. i checked every topic about it and still dont know how to fix it

help..

No IMEI & no EFS backup = service centre or local mobile repair shop.

but according to that [GUIDE] Recover your IMEI in 9 steps.
i dont need imei or efs backup.. i did same as on guide and it did not worked.. still IMEI changed to 004999010640000

Exactly my point

well at least phone is working..
i can call and ppl can call me..
but its not my IMEI so its not good..
if they can do it at service centre or local mobile repair shop i cant do it myself?

[Q] EFS failed with no back up

HELP!!!
After i tried using App2sd on my rooted S3 I9300 (Intl version), my phne went into a boot loop, and apparently i tried fixing it by installing a new rom..now, here comes the real problem..I installed a wrong ROM, it seems (although the rom is for i9300, it is for a different region)..
So after installing this Rom using odin, i get the message "e: failed to mount efs folder"..
Now im lost, especially because i have no backup of any kind...Is my efs folder corrupted??? and the phone still wont go past the samsung logo..only hope i have is that i can enter into recovery mode
Any suggestions ??? Please..anything...

I9100 loose imei, restored, lost again after few reboot

Hello, i have a problem with my phone and imei.
When i reboot i loose imei, i can restore and if i put my sim card after boot, i can use it. If i reboot i go back to 004999....
Any ideas ?
Tried flashs back to 2.3 4.1.2 and current on cyanogen11
I see my nvdata.bin.md5 and the md5.bak are not the same
Is this the source of problem ?
I get my imei back with gs2 repair , it does correspond to my imei. The problem is if i do chmod 755 nv_data.bin, i get a 04999... Imei ...
Could get it back:
Flashed 2.3.5, rooted, used gs2_repair, chowned nv_data.bin -> imei ok
Flashed 4.1.2 imei ok, but no pin request.
Flashed cwm6 installed cm10.1.3 : imei and pincode ok. Call ok.
Flashed cm11: imei goes 04999
Why is this happening in cm11 and not cm10.1.3?
Is it permission on a file in efs ?
I would like to go cm11. Again

[Q] EFS restore error

Hello, I'm new member in here. Today I flashed UltimaROM to my SGS3. Before the flashing I installed Philz touch recovery and saved Nandroid, modem and EFS backups in my PC. After the flashing no IMEI number was shown and I got a message saying " Insert SIM card....". So i tried to restore EFS in custom restore option in philz recovery. Even though it showed restore successful , IMEI number is still unavailable and i couldn't connect to mobile network. I also tried ktools to restore efs but no result. Can someone please help me regarding this issue.
What version firmware did you have before you first flashed? If it was really old then that could be the problem.
Flash a 4.3 stock rom, factory reset them boot and see if your efs is read again.

Thanks for the reply. I had 4.1.2. If I flash 4.3 stock ROM can i retrieve my IMEI ?
If you flash a 4.3 stock it will update your efs to v2 and should enable it to be read in all newer firmwares.

Can and EFS backup of similar model be used for another similar model?

I have a now bricked Samsung Grand Neo GT-i9060. This happened because after rooting it I tried to unlock the bootloader using EZunlock app. After restart it wont start and was stuck at the Samsung Boot Logo. I didnt happen to take a backup of the EFS folder. On the Android(3E) Recovery Screen it shows "E: Cant Mount EFS(Invalid Argument). I have another GT-i9060. I tried flashing Stock ROM using ODIN and repeatedly and tried Kies also. Every time it will get stuck at the android updating and then say EFS not mounted. I was thinking of using another EFS folder of same modelGT-i9060 and edit it for my IMEI number. Can I do say and if possible at all, how do I flash the edited EFS folder back into my bricked Grand Neo? Please help as i havent made any backup of my EFS folder.
