it just says that "Network Unlock Unsuccessfull" and its driving me insane. what am i doing wrong? i just wanna use this on at&t right now its a paper weight.

this happened to alot of people when JI6 rolled out.
Both the code from tmobile and the sgs unlock tool are pretty much useless at this point.
make sure you do not enter the code tmobile gave you more than 3 times, it will lock your phone up permanently if I understand correctly.
use a root file browser (I use root explorer but its a paid app) and look and make sure you have an efs folder with NV_data.bin in it.
Make a backup of this folder!
if there is an efs folder then the script will work, we just need to figure out why its not running all the way through, I've helped lots of people through this problem, and its not always the same issue.
so make sure you have that folder, then you can pm me or repost here.
if you dont want to use a root file browser you can also use ADB which you'll need anyways for the script to work.
to use ABD just use the pull command to get the NV_data.bin file:
adb pull /efs/nv_data.bin
also if it helps, the best instructions for unlocking are here
go to the vibrant/captivate instructions on the upper left part of the page or just click here
like I said if you still have issues them pm me, I'd be happy to help.
What is ABD? sorry for being such a noob

Its Android Debug Bridge.
Its a command line interface between the computer and your phone, the easies way to install it is to install the Android Software Developer Kit (SDK)
you can get that here
you may also want to install the drivers for your vibrant from here
here's Google's guide on ADB, but you'll probably just want to search specifically for, or ask for the command that you need for any given situation.
but this guide will give you an idea of what ADB is all about. (don't let it scare you away though, ADB is allot easier than it looks)

Does this work?
Code:
1. My SIM Card is not recognised after unlocking phone with msm7227_setool2.cmd!
Ans: Redo unlocking procedure (step 5 onwards) using msm7227_semc.cmd.
It was in the troubleshooting section of my guide....

Don't keep posting to get the thread noticed, it's highly annoying.

hello. i did it too... and nothing. help me.. i dont have cellphone jejejejeje
My Xperia S gets Hard Locked as My Bro enters Wrong Network unlock code so many times...anyone help me i also purchase an unlock code for it but it doesnt work it says "couldnt unlock network"...HELP ME PLEASE:crying::crying::crying:
I'm not really sure as it has never happened to me, but I just found a thread on the Arc S forum where someone has the same problem. What they suggest is that, is your bootloader can be unlocked, then you can do that and that way it will not be hardlocked anymore. However... if you needed to use an unlock code in the first place, then you probably can't. In that case, i think you're out of look, sorry .

No SIM unlock for 2012 Xperias, neither free nor paid. Overclocking is possible with a custom kernel, and an unlocked boot loader.
No SIM unlock for 2012 models? untrue.

This isn't true. The ones sold by NTT Docomo in Japan can be SIM unlocked for around 3000 yen. What they don't tell you, though, is that the WiFi Tethering won't work on other carriers' sim cards. (You would need to root it to get around that.)

OK, no *unofficial * SIM unlock.
No one, knows if any developer is working on a method for unlocking 2012 xperia's?
maybe unlocking the bootloader can unlock the sim lock also as it is done on the HTC Explorer.
i did not want to buy this phone if its not sim unlockable.
anyway thank you for your answers i would be thankful if anyone who has the phone can try it and write here.
wishing you all nice day

After an initial failed unlock attempt, cellunlocker.net came good in the end and provided a SIM/Network unlock code that worked!

Confused
Hi there!!!
This is my first post!,so...hi everybody....
I tried to unlock the sim of my Xperia Tipo, I looked for diferents ways and I could´t (free ways).I was seeing the next method
***sorry i can't post links***.
This method works to several mobiles,I think that it could work on Xperia Tipo
a)you have to be root
b)you have to download the app Terminal Emulator
c)you have to have a SdCard
d) open the Terminal Emulator and pick the next commands
Su
cd / sdcard
mkdir desbloqueo
chmod 555 unlock
mount -o nosuid,ro,nodev -t vfat /dev/block/stl5 /sdcard/unlock HERE IS THE PROBLEM!
cat /sdcard/unlock/mits/perso.txt
e)now appear on the screen the code of unlock, with a lots zeros, we just need the 8 numbers before ot the 0's...write this number
f) continue with the commands
umount /sdcard/unlock
rm -r unlock
reboot
Now,when we switch on the mobile with another sim, we must introduce the 8 numbers of the code of unlock...
I couldn't , I had a problem when I did the mount, appear on the screen "No such file or directory"
I was looking for the file stl5 in dev/block, and in fact,it doesn't appear....
Does anyone know what is the content of stl5?Maybe, It's changed of name??
Sorry for my English and thank you...
Is it possible to unlock bootloader after sim unlock?
I have a Xperia P with Simlock and want to unlock bootloader.

I have tried all of the cheaper sites that unlock and all of them have come back with nope sorry cant get you a code..
I have also been into two unlock shops in town and they have said the same thing, they cant unlock it...
my next course of action is going to Orange who it is locked to, they want £20 for doing it, might just pay it out now since everwhere else is saying no, but orange have said it could take up to 21 days to get the code..

Hi, first of all you can't mount into "unlock" directory because you never created it, change "mkdir desbloqueo" to "mkdir unlock" to make it work. Second probably you can't see stl5 because you need root access with the file explorer to get access to it.
Hello everyone, this is my first post here and I am in need of desperate help.
I have looked everywhere I could but (my bad) I am not into all this stuff at all. I am not familiar with ROMs Kernels etc. I just follow tutorials blindly.
I have a galaxy s2 bought which I bought in the UK. It was locked on 3 network. Later I moved to another country where I got it unlocked for about $35 but that still showed signs of 3 network (The 3 startup logo, 3 bookmarks in web browser etc), however the phone was unlocked now and picked up any network I used.
I noticed the phone stopped giving me any kind of updates and it was on andriod 2.0.1.
I looked up the internet on how to install latest updates for my phone.
Found out this guide and went thorough all the process: goo.gl/yJSga8
Everything went fine but when the phone booted up, it asked me to enter "sim network unlock pin" and now all networks are inaccessible.
I am pretty much stuck at this point. Found guides telling to root the phone and then installing apps like Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock by Chainfire.
I have tried it once and was near to kill my phone. (The yellow triangle appeared at startup and got stuck there. No boot.) I just re-flashed the firmware by following the first guide again and now the phone is like before asking for sim network unlock pin.
I have attached the screenshot of the info that you might need.
I am willing to pay $15 via PayPal if anyone can help me out to fix this issue. (I am a bit hesitant using the rooting method as I an afraid I might kill my phone. But if that's the only choice then I will go with it)
Please ignore if I sound really stupid as I really don't know about this stuff. Please ask me any details that I may have missed out.
Thank you very much!

If you don't want to root, then you'll have to call your carrier and ask for an unlock code. Mine has that service at least, don't know about all carriers.
As far as solving your problem goes if your carrier won't help out... The thing that works for a lot of members here is to root, then use galaxsim unlock app, by xda member spocky12. Search for the thread.
That app requires root access... To do that, easy way is to flash philz kernel from recovery mode. Search up philz kernel thread here on xda and read up how to flash it

Hello hopper, thanks for the response.
I took your first suggestion but instead of calling the company itself I used an online service unlockliberty.com.
They charged me $20 via PayPal and almost instantly sent a code to my email address.
I entered the code on the phone but it gave me "Network unlock request unsuccessful" error.
Contacted support and they sent me a defreeze code and instructed me to restart, enter the defreeze code instead of the unlock code and then it will say "Network unlock request unsuccessful" and after that enter the unlock code. I did the steps and it worked like a charm! my phone is now unlocked.
I really recommend their services if you are in a similar situation.
Thanks alot!
