Here is the link. Use this link with your handset. Download it, and install. This is Android 4.3 Camera and photo .APK.

Wow. You rock. Works great so far and dont even have to flash it! I wonder is there any way to get the original s3 camera working alongside. You know when burst mode actually worked I keep a non upgraded s3 handy just for burst

You're very welcome, friend. Here to help. It can be removed & installed just like any other app. So can many other .APKs.
I personally use stock Android 4.3 E-mail, photo gallery, and camera app. And even a 4.4 KitKat SMS.
any idea if its possible for me to run side by side the S3 original camera? I really want my burst mode but on newer s3 firmware and note 2/3 firmware samsung totally screwed up the burst mode such that its nearly useless

My hobby is photography and I like doing panorama photos by stitching 5+ normal photos to one panorama. Without manual shutter speed or exposure lock on the camera, I can't do that...
My question is - Is there a way for this on Samsung Galaxy S2?
Sorry but photography on a smartphone camera? Really?
There is a panorama shooting mode in the camera app...

Why be a ****, just ****ing help him. There's a panorama option in the camera app.

AFAIK there is no option for manual shutter control. And for panorama, it's there in the camera settings.

Sorry if I'm being a "****", but I agree with him. Phones are not for this. If your hobby is really photography, you don't do it with a phone, unless you're a hipster, or you can't afford a good camera. Yes, when you need a quick pic, it's okay, but that's not the real thing :/
Also, ICS should have nice panorama feature, let's just wait for it.
Hello again
I have DSLR, but I'm not that much into photography to bring it everywhere with me...
Here is some samples with my old phones (first from Sony Ericsson K770 3,2MP, others from Samsung Omnia 5MP)
I try the panorama on Galaxy S2 (also other panorama programs), but they DON'T have AE lock, and stitching its not good (for example, try do panorama in dark room with one bright window...)
So, is there hope for some software developing on Android, maybe for ICS?
Hello again, just want to say that I found some kind of solution, if someone other than me is interested
Fast Burst Camera app (in beta for now) have some AE lock and I can take photos for panorama, thats GREAT, but the app can take max resolution of 800x600 ...
Also if there is other program... PLEASE let me know about it, I'm interested in paying for it
no need to pay, use fireworks mode,
stock cam app extends shutter speed to 1 second.
here's my sample

Hello again
I've found the perfect camera APP and its called Camera FV-5 !
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.pro&feature=search_result
V1.1 supports AE-L (AutoExposure-Lock), but only for ICS devices. However, it's not working on custom ROM's, that's what the developer of the program say'd to me, when I ask him "why does AE-L not working with me". I'm ont Lite'ning V2.6 ROM (ICS 4.0.3 based).
The developer say'd that this future works only ot original ICS releases (for now), it has to do something with the camera driver/apk (I don't understand that much)
Could I flash from somewhere original ICS base on this ROM, the only thing I want is to work AE-L on my phone

I found out how to lock the focus (it's the last option in the Focus menu), but how do you lock the Aperture?
Also, I tried the Exposure Bracketing and took 7 shots, would anyone recommend a free software to make an HDR picture out of these?

good/expensive equipment might give you clearer pictures with higher pixels but it is also not wrong for anyone (including photographers) to use their smart phones for photography, as the matter of fact capturing photos at the right moment is the most important factor of all.
many of my photographer friends enjoy the photo taking capability with today's smart phones for several reasons: 1. it's very handy because people carry their phone on them all the time. 2. Easy-Quick to use 3.picture quality is good enough in most cases.

Sorry but the original galaxy s2 touchwiz camera app relies on Samsung app framework (and a load more other complicated things I wont go into), therefore it can't and can never will be able to work on an AOSP rom like cm9. In other words, it's not possible. I hope this helps you
shame
That's crap.
Thanks for the reply though. The stock camera was the best. Could you recommend a similar app ? Tried camerazoom and its rubbish.
Need a high quality fast camera.
Currently using ifs camera + and its good but focus Is rubbish.
Loving cm9 though )))))))
typo
I meant isc camera + silly me
my phone won't spell ICS.
Ics camera +
f me ! Such a noob.
Sorry guys.
tried ics camera+? works like a charm

no focus options
There are no options to focus ?how can yousayy it works like a charm when there are options missings. Like focus ??
I am surprised why CM9 camera is so big **** compared to the stock :O
The one thing holding me back from flashing cm10 is the fact that I lose the TW camera. The HDR function in it works _so_ well.
I've tried a few free versions of various HDR apps and they all suck compared to the TW one.
Does anyone have experience with any of the ones on the market and can maybe share their settings?
HDR/MDR
I don't consider any mobile camera good. Any cheapest point-n-shoot will punch it in face. If u got SGS3 for camera - u r wrong.
I heard Photoshop can do HDR - so look into that. Also PlayMarket is a good source of information.
I disagree. The camera on this phone is more than adequate, and HDR is impressive

meh, camera is great for my neeeds.
as for ps doing hdr, you need an hdr image first for ps to be able to manipulate the exposure and b/w settings.
what is PlayMarket? Something that reviews playstore apps?

Do you have anything to back that up, or is it just your POV?

Any recent cheap point in shoot will do better in terms of IQ.
Having said that even cell phone cameras vary in quality and if you use them then you'd be silly not to take that into account if it is important to you, even if you've got another camera that is better.... nothing wrong with buying the S3 for the camera. Not sure how that would be "wrong".
the camera was like 70% of my interest in getting the S3. I have a nikon d7000 DSLR and know that the cell camera will never be able to get close to that beast but sometimes I don't want to lug around my dslr and having a cell that can take great pictures is a huge plus especially if you don't want to carry a point and shoot and a cell phone at the same time.

I had previously used PRO HDR on the OG EVO, and it worked great. The EVO 3D didn't support HDR apps at all. The GS3 has a great built-in HDR option, and tried PRO HDR again - the native one is better!
So for now I'm sticking with the stock camera (I'm rooted, but running stock until CM10 has a semi-stable build..).

Get Camera360! I love this camera, its free and so many effects and you can actually choose between a couple different HDR modes.
I found that stock rom takes better photos then cm 10.1.
Anyone knows a way to fix it?
In stock rom photos are crystal clear and in CM 10.1 they are in many cases looks like taken in high iso and do not look clear (when shooting indoors).
hey there man
it's a known issue because Samsung refuses to release their source code.
there isn't really a fix for this but you may try a different camera app that may produce a better results.

any answer?
I switched from a Samsung rom to an Aosp rom a week or so ago, and while I'm loving most things about it, I really find the default Android camera lacking compared to the Samsung one. The Samsung camera has better focusing, much, much easier to navigate menus, takes better night shots, has stabilization, and seems to consistently take better pictures. Is there any way to get it to work on aosp? I remember there being a way to do it on the s3. If not, what camera apps do you guys use?

Unfortunately you will be unable to use the samsung camera app on aosp. I purchased camera zoom fx and use that. I also have heard people recommending snap hd camera but I haven't personally tried it. The picture quality doesn't seem to be as good on aosp as touchwiz. It's a trade off of running aosp but worth it imo.

i reccommend the motorola one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387369
i also like the Camera Zoom app. But the motox one is best.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll give your ideas a try. I've used HDR camera before with good results, but I'd like an all around good app. I think I'll try the moto one first. EDIT: I tried the moto one. I love the interface, but there are no settings for anything such as video or picture quality, or storage location.
