Was running Slimbean 4.3 for the longest and finally got around to trying out CM 11 KitKat but before I installed it I updated the radio with the .1112 radio that's flashable through recovery.
Everything was great till I left WiFi this morning and I noticed it was stuck on 3G. So I cycled airplane mode, LTE/CDMA, Global, Home and automatic and still no 4G. So I restored my backup of Slimbean 4.3 and still can't get 4G. I then resorted to putting my wife's sim card into my phone after shutdown and upon reboot no 4G. I put my sim in her S4 and 4G works.
So I'm asking what's my next course of action?
I won't have access to a PC till this weekend. Voice/Data/MMS work fine right now but I want my 4G back.
I also tried flashing the radio back to the previous radio but keep getting installation aborted. I got both radios from t1gartist radio thread.

My thunderbolt started off with das bamf 1.7 and I flashed the Ginger Alpha radio. It worked great for 4-5 days then I left my home area where I normally have 4G. When I got back no 4G i even checked my buddies phone and it has*4G*right next to mine.
I already tried flashing a*stock RUU and trying a bunch of different MR1 radios. It can connect to 3G but will drop the connection a lot no matter what radio I flash. And no 4G at all.
Thanks in advance for any help
I am having the same issues with mr2 and the new ota radio. You don't happen to be on metro detroit are you? This has been going on for days now. I may have to flash the stock locked rom and return phone if out doesn't improve soon.

ive been loosing 4g as well here in west michigan over the weekend with the new OTA. ill see how the phone acts at work today.
I am actually have the opposite problem. I can lock into 4g fine, but I can not get a 3g signal. This is with the radio from the last ota

O good im not alone. Bowtie26 I had to reset to factory again and then let the OTA go through with S-on but I still cannot connect to 4G. So I dont think setting it back to factory settings helps. Im in Portland, OR.

maybe your sim card is on the fritz. I'd try to get another one.
Yeah I guess I never thought of that, do you think that my phone would still display the SIM ID if the card was bad though?

it could. Sim cards are notoriously unreliable, and can partially function. If you have gone back to stock already, wouldn't hurt to visit a verizon store and if not and you have a buddy with a thunderbolt, you could swap sims and see if that works.
Yeah Ill do that and report back. Thanks good idea
Alright definitely not the SIM card. Tried it for a day and still no 4G.
I lost 4g today as well in NYC. as did three of my coworkers with thunderbolts.
do you have any idea what radio your co-workers were using?

I'm on MR2 official. Both of them are on MR1. i'm on cm7, another is on cm7, one is on stock MR1 OTA (rooted).
weird. This problem doesnt seem to specific. did you ever flash the Ginger Alpha radio?
Flashed the OTA (.627) yesterday and it was worse for me than the MR2.5 leak. Went back to the MR2 leak, everything is fine. In St. Louis - 4g pretty much everywhere. With the .627 the phone locked on 3g most of the time. Didn't swap for a new sim though - with MR2 stable for now.

Twice I have lost all mobile data on my thunderbolt.Once while on bamf rc 4.0 using Imoseyons lean kernel. Again while on cm7 rc 1.3 with Tiamats kernel. Both times I would have data one minute then lose it without making any changes to my phone. I would wait a couple hours to see if it would come back. I would then try the airplane mode trick. Then try toggling 4G and 3G. Then try flashing different radios. When nothing would work I would then wait 24 hours to see if it was a network issue. The next day I would then go to the verizon store and they would swap out my sim card and my mobile data would be back. The question I have is what's causing my sim card to go bad. It will work one minute then just stop working. Sim cards are free at the verizon store but I would rather avoid the problem. Thanks in advance for any help!

I just lost my 3g connection last night
and haven't been able to get it back.
I'm not sure what I should do next.
I've done everything in this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145147
and still a no go.
I'm currently running dhemke's gb debloat.
if I were to take it into verizon to get it
troubleshooted. should I go back to stock/unroot?
op - what did you do before you took it in and
while you were in store?

I have an htc rezound that is S-OFF and was running the ics leak 3.14.605.5 I installed the ruu using ph98img on my sd card. Was running very well just some small bugs. I saw that the ota had been released(got the flashing bug) so I decided to ruu back to gingerbread to get the ota(i flashed the ruu twice). Once I do that everything is working in gingerbread (4g data). I get the ota notification install the 7 meg patch and everything still works. I have 4g and everything is running smooth no force closes. Then I get the ota notification for the big update(download on 4g data). It downloads and installs. Once the ics upgrade finishes and reboots It is stuck on 3g and that drops in and out. I then try a factory restore through power down and volume and it resets. When the phone comes on it says i have 4g data but the phone has no internet connection(cant browse web sites). Anyone have any idea what i did wrong or does my phone just not agree with the ota. I have also flashed the ota ruu that was released but my phone does the same thing. So far I'm lost. Also called Verizon and no problem on there end. Any help would be greatly appreciated
UPDATE: quick update got 4g speeds for a little bit after toggling airplane mode on and off alot

Back cover on tight and no messed up contacts...
You already did the factory reset, I see. All I can add, is go into your settings and make sure you have LTE/CDMA selected and maybe try toggling airplane mode on and off..
yea back covers on tight was working perfect in gingerbread full 4g speeds then ota ran and now just 3g tried airplane mode toggling wifi and changed the setting.
also when im using it i notice it drops 3g when its idle but picks it right back up. is there a power menu maybe that im missing that turns off my lte.
I am having the same problem and will be watching this thread. On GB and previous ICS leaks, the 4g works fine but after update I can only get 3g. I even tried running just the full 3.14.605.12 RUU that I downloaded from AndroidPolice and got the same results. (I am S-Off) My back cover is on tight and seems to have a good connection in GB. I ran the speedtest app in GB and got the normal speeds I always got before. So it seems to be an issue with this update. Right now I just RUU'd back to the stock GB and am doing the update one more time to see what happens. Hopefully this works. If not, I guess it will be time for a call to Verizon tech support. My wifes phone is completely stock and the update when fine for her.
Last nite when I did the 3.14.605.12 RUU, right after the install finished and rebooted, it got a 3g signal at first and then a 4g. I then restarted in bootloader and installed AmonRa with the PH98IMG file of it I have. That also went fine but after restarting, I got 1 or 2 notifications about a SIM card error could only get 3g again .
I was able to get mine back up and running. After reinstalling GB, I had 4G back. I did the update and it went back to 3G again with SIM card error icon. I rebooted back into bootloader, did a factory reset and now my 4G is finally working. I am in the process of adding all my apps back in. I had tried using my nandroids yesterday and kept having problems. But for now, it looks like Im back in business again. Maybe this will help you.
Hi everyone,
I bought a DNA off of Ebay that was rooted and has S-OFF.
In the settings in all of the ROMS, I've tried Global and LTE/CDMA with no luck.
It will not connect to Verizon 4G. It does connect to 3G. I have tried multiple ROMs, a new SIM card, and I've flashed multiple radios.
I have a stock DNA also, and if I put the SIM card in that phone, it locks onto 4G right away.
Before I reach out to the seller to do a return...does anyone have any suggestions on anything I'm missing?
Thank you!

This probably won't work but try dialing #22899 and hit call.
im not an expert, but maybe you need to check the settings in the custom rom? i've had issue of the radio switching to just 3g before, and had to manually change it back. idk. maybe flashing new radio or reflashing RUU? not sure, sorry

Not to be the pessimist, but maybe that's why the seller was selling the DNA.
download lte on off and see what it lists in there. I know on my rezound when I run neo aosp ROM and I select lte/CDMA . it will be listed under lte on off as its on gsm/CDMA. so try that app as it might be as simple as changing it to CDMA/lte.

I would suggest you to RUU it then do a factory reset from settings. Be sure you have stock recovery installed when factory resetting. I had a similar issue and it worked for me.

New to the Note world. Got a used AT&T i717 in excellent condition. Tried just about every recent ROM and radio combo (Blaze and 7 others). I'm using Wind Mobile. The only way I get any signal (even locking to 1700) is with Padawan's included AT&T radio. Even then it was pretty spotty.
Fast forward to my question. I just flashed the latest CM 11 and it's included radio is spectacular! While CM 11 is nice, I'd rather extract this radio and use it with BlackStar or something else slicker looking. Does anyone know what radio this is and/or how I can pull it out? The phone says baseband unknown.
Thanks!
I don't think CM11 includes a radio, I had UCLD3 before on 10.2 (got it when I had to reformat my phone entirely through Odin) and it's persisted across several ROMs now. I use my i717 on T-Mobile and had perfect LTE with UCLD3 and CM10.2, but I got my Note 3 now so my i717 is WiFi only now. Using CM11 now and although no SIM is inserted it still shows UCLD3 in the status.

Ah, a quick check shows you're right. Now I'm stuck to find which radio it was before. Very strange though since it must have been an "ICS" or earlier flash and it worked great with the 4.4 in CM 11.

My I717 has stock 2.3.6 on it and this is the radio it has. I found the file last night actually because I flashed the T-Mobile radio which gave me full 4g signal but no LTE. This radio depending on the strength of T-Mobile's LTE will give you LTE.
The stock ATT modem is UCLA1
