The instructions in the thread assume you already have a custom recovery installed. So first you need to flash a custom recovery via odin. There are tons of post covering this in the Dev section. Just use the search function. Really once you get a custom recovery you can proceed with my instructions in the link posted above. Thanks @ibcradio for helping out!

[Q] How to use betterbatterystats

Hello everybody!
Do you know any good guide/tutorial on how to use betterbatterystats, or how to manage wakelocks? I'm a newbie in the android world, so all this theory about wakelocks is some kind of black magic for me, but I'm very interested in decreasing the battery drain of my SGSII. Chamonix (the betterbatterystats creator) says his SGSII drain 2-10mAh, and according to the readings of my device, for the moment it's 50-60mAh.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor english

Couldn't agree more.
You can see who is in charge about the wakelocks but you have no idea why, for example if you use the alarm clock you could see "AlarmManager" and the count is 3934 (in my case), so I need to remove the alarm clock ?
OF COURSE NOT, but the app only tells me who is in charge for those wakelocks.
You should look for those processes which are there for long duration, not those which spent some seconds.
Regards.
Sent from GT-I9100
another example: *backup*: 16m8s, count:571
or ActivityManager-Lauch 3m14s Count 253
Is there anything I can do for this 2 wakelocks?
Why not asking in the thread and using the help and how-to links included in post #3

First of all, welcome to XDA.
Now, i recommend to you give more presentation to your OP, i know that you have a link to the screenshots and downloads but it's better if you have all the information on the thread. Also, the details of how it's different from CM9 would be better if are included on the OP too.
Good luck.
@OP
I cannot understand and read if it is not in English and please put all the ROM info in the op.
Thanks and good luck.
PS
Give proper credit to CM Team.
Downloading it right now. Is it right that the file is only about 140MB?

Look man, I understand this is your first ROM. Now, as you already know, we have CM9, the only changes you made are de-bloating the rom. But, we can all already do that using Titanium Backup, I'd say you gotta add something to this ROM to attract users. Don't get me wrong, you've done a great job. I mean, I can't even do what you did. But all the same, these people won't try out the ROM unless they find something new or better in it.
Looking forward to something better from you. I know you got the potential.
If it was a suggestion you wanted, if you make a CM10 ROM, I'll definitely try it!
Cheers.

[REQUEST][ROM]Lightweight Rom

Hello Guys,
I am sorry if this is not the right place to post this request.
Btw, Can someone from the super-cool developers of 8552 please upload a Clean Rom?
Clean rom = non customised, non-rooted, no extra things installed Stock rom, but after removing all the samsung crap out of it.
None of the bloatwares.
No weather widget, no stock widget (who uses this sh#t anyways) nothing.
Just a plain, fast rom.
Thanks in advance..
PS: Btw, cyanogenmod project for our device is totally dead?
i am trying to compress the rom as possible. second thing if you want to move this thread just report moderator by caution triangle on top of your post.

I would not recommend Baidu as it's not the fastest Rom, yet the most beautiful Custom Rom for Quattro till date. Also a little less battery backup than stock as it has not power saving mode. Using greenify might solve this issue, but I forgot trying greenify when I was using it. I quit Baidu because of low earpiece volume duing call and same for speaker phone.
I would recommend Whacky Rom as it is based on latest stock Rom with tweaks to make it clean and beautiful yet quick enough to enjoy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687763
My overall experience is that no rom is better than the original Stock Rom (Ofcourse Rooted). :good: Odexed Rom are most stable ones. Stock Rom is most stable and good until unless you regularly clear the unnecessary cache files(maybe via Clean Master app or wipe cache). I am into Whacky Rom currently because it looks nearly stock and beautiful status bar it has. Transparent just like kitkat. I'll stick to it and soon make it customizable to my requirements.

[Q] If no roms support my phone, what can I do?

I have the ZTE Avail 2 (aka Z992) (and it sucks, considering it's a $70 phone, buying a new one isn't an option because I just built a computer). It hasn't had an update since 4.1.1 and it's very slow, (usually have only ~50mb of ram free when just sitting at launcher) even with all of the tricks to speed it up (greenfiy, cleaner, etc) and on top of that, it's loaded with features that ZTE put in that suck. So after searching and searching for a custom ROM with support for my phone, I can confirm there is zero. I looked at the rom dev tutorial - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272270 and the kitchen program doesn't support my phone either. Does that mean I'm screwed? If there's a way to make a rom compatible other than the android kitchen or straight up learning to program, please tell me. I'm willing to learn anything that isn't hugely time consuming. Thanks for any replies.

No, you are not. You can try many other porting tutorials around the web. I found a list of phones similar to yours, might come in handy.
In fact, since your are trying to "port" ROMs, just think about the fact that "where did those ROMs come from?" Those ROMs were built from source code. The Android project is open source and if you are feeling adventurous, you can just grab the source code and compile it yourself for your device. It might be very easy or very tough, depending on your device. I would advise you to try to build Cyanogenmod 10.1 from source code. Check here and here.
And make sure to check this (must).
Cheers man! Trust me, trying to build Cyanogenmod from source will be a lot of fun!
Thank you! So I found CM for the xperia tipo, which was on the list of similar devices. I should use that one and change whatever needs to be changed, right?
Also, is it possible to do that for 4.4 stock? That may be a better idea if CM consumes too much ram

Okay, ignore my last replies, I've been reading a lot and kind of know what I'm doing now.
Only problem is, I can't find a stock rom of my phone! The closest thing I found was a custom ROM for a phone similar to mine, which is confirmed working to the one I actually have. So would that do okay? androidforums . com/prelude-all-things-root/795640-azazel-rom-z993-aio.html is the one. Thanks again for any help.

You can easily take a backup of your current ROM. Try booting into recovery and making your own custom recovery (ClockWordMod).

Oh, I didn't know that would work, thanks again! I have my rom modded like crazy though, tons of xposed modules and build.prop edits, also I uninstalled a lot of stock apps - I'm sure I could get the build.prop somewhere, but what about the other things? Do they matter at all?
Edit: after the backup I now have a ton of tars, a recovery.img, and a boot.img. I extracted all of the tars, now do I just put all of the folders from the tars in a folder with the imgs and that's my base rom?

Okay, I've come pretty far and I've made several flashable zips and fixed many errors, but there's one thing I can't figure out - the updater script doesn't work, and I realized it's because I was using the one from the original port, and I need the one for my phone, which I can't get from the cwm recovery. I really need the whole META-INF folder. Where can I get that?
I tried for 1 week and i didnt find any official and stable rom for my samsung galaxy note 4 Sm 910h. I used resurrection remix unofficial and camara didnt worked there . Please any solution there help me

[MINIMAL ROM] Testers Needed

As stated before I am working on this device and I need testers.
You will need to flash the zip via latest cmw and report back.
The file would be around 200-230 Mb max for the complete rom.
Quote/Mention me if you are interested.
NO ETA, I might finish it by tomorrow or might take two weeks. It just depends on if I have time!
Remember I have a LIFE apart from xda so don't PM me or ask for ETA.
The time wasted in checking useless PM/Quotes could be used in development and thus saving alot of time.
DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK
I would not be responsible for world war 3, pregnant girlfriend,UFO, dead phone so DON'T BLAME ME if you don't know what you are doing!
Instructions if you want to flash the zip
-Rooted phone with CWM latest for your device
-STOCK ROM
-clean dalvik/cache/ factory reset
-flash update.zip
-clean dalvik/cache/factory reset

I am uploading the file on my dev-host!
Once done, i would share the link with you!
It is basically deodex stock rom with some modifications.
Tweaks havenot been done, neither i have tried to change anything in build.pro!
If confirmed, this is working, I would start with next step..
Basically I am going to go systematically step by step, it might take a bit of time.
My plans for rom are simple
FAST, MINIMAL, BATTERY OPTIMIZATION, SMOOTH
Other Custom tweaks would be solely on the user

The ROM and everything is right, I accidentally copied the wrong updater script in Meta-inf as I was looking into someone's ROM as well so they got mixed.
There's a safety feature added in updater script and thus, flashing would be aborted if the device does not match.
I am working on it and I'd hopefully give you good news soon.
I have borrowed the device as well so I'll test it myself before I release the ROM

- I have given back the device which I borrowed from my mate so nothing till I get it back. I am not sure when I can borrow again!
-I have managed to get some progress but I am still ending up in a bootloop. I need to check logs once I have the device again. He may or he may not give me the device again so let's see.
-there's no ETA. I have honestly lost the heart that over two days of very little sleep and hardwork has yielded nothing productive as I hoped.
-I shared the ROM with two testers but I managed to test myself and found problems with updater script which have been fixed but still bootloop.
- I am extremely busy and I need to look into schedule well ahead to give time to a particular project so I can't tell you what will happen to this project in future.
- I only develop/contribute to XDA as a hobby and I'm a doctor by profession so I hope you understand how less time I have for myself.
- please understand I am a human and I have a life and I'm not paid to work at XDA so its my choice how I progress with this!
I hope you can all understand and kindly DON'T pm me asking about this or anything at all.
However if you have anything productive/suggestions apart from this ROM, you are welcome!
YOU ask and we answer .. take your time
