Hello all. I flashed beans official 4.3 and I'm having some issues with philz. My question is, since I did not accept any OTA and just used beans 4.3, can I ODIN back to 4.1.2? I also used ODIN to flash the new radios ect.... Thanks in advance to everyone who are on these forums.
yeah u can, but u will lose root. it'll put back to 100% stock.
Thank you very much! I can just run casual and re-root at that point correct? Again I truly appreciate the help.

I have an at&t s2 I777.....it is rooted one i guess (it was gifted)..
I want the ICS on it...and believe me i know nothing about how to get it....
i googled and found many people explaining the process for a windows PC version.
I have a mac and if some one would please care to explain (step-by-step is much appreciated)..i attach the present status of the I777...
Thanks....
Senior members will probably scream SEARCH at you 'til blue in the face, so I'll throw you a bone since I've been stalking for far too long.
This (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878686) is a guide to Heimdall (basically Odin for Mac) find a kernal to flash (I started with Siyah http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19650906&postcount=1) and follow the Heimdall guide to flash to your GS2. Next you can download any ICS Rom (I've been using ShoStock2 since version 1.1) to your phone and flash the zip using CWM (there are a plethora of guides on this should you need it, so search.)
Check out my thread, no need for a computer to flash the update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722064
I would suggest you follow the guide linked in my signature. It has instructions for using heimdall with the mac.
Do *not* install Siyah 3.4 on your phone if you are running Gingerbread stock or modified firmware. You can not use an ICS kernel with a Gingerbread system.
If you have any questions or problems as you work through the guide, feel free to post your questions in that thread.
Edit: if you already have ClockworkMod Recovery on the phone, then you can just download the firmware distribution you want and flash it in recovery.

I could see why... alas, I have no reason to install it since I have already used the "middle-man" method.

Yes, it is based on the last AT&T release. You will need CWM to install the ROM.

When you use mobile Odin, it gives you a choice to root while flashing.

Honestly, I keep all of my fingers crossed for OP action.
Not thinking I flashed twrp recovery before unlocking bootloader and now have the "system software not authorized" warning.
I am downloading the stock image, do I just flash that with odin?
I have been a Motorola guy for years.
Thanks

First of all let me say I'm sorry to even have to post this. I've looked and I'm sure this question has been posted a million times. But a lot of it just looks like Greek to me.
I recently bought a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 and found later that evening that it was rooted.
It's running Hyperdrive and the latest version. Also has a TeamWin screen.
I'd really like to unroot it and return it back to bone stock. But I haven't had any luck finding the firmware or instructions on how to do so that a new guy could totally understand.
If someone could give me a step by step and where I can find the stock firmware, I'd be forever grateful.
Thank you for reading this and I hope you all have a great day!

Alright, just follow steps 1 and 2 from this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259
I haven't used it myself but you should keep apps and data and be stock unrooted. If you have any issues or questions you can ask me or the OP of that thread.

I figured it would have removed the root access and the TWRP recovery and leave it in a mostly stock state.

Sorry to post this here, but I can't post in the Development forum yet. But I went to a custom rom a long time ago and backed up my original stock rom. Could I load that rom and do the upgrade to keep root? I know I'll loose TWRP and all that stuff, but as long as I have root access I'll be happy. Here's a screenshot of all the info on my stock backup. Thanks in advance for your help

Yeah I was referring to that post. My question isn't how to do it, but if I do that with how my phone is set up, will it brick my phone?

If you really want to do this, trade with someone who already has a locked bootloader. Your planning on wasting a mdk phone that a lot of people would kill for.

I recently had to restore a backup due to a bad Rom download/install. The only backup I could get to work wad an old 4.1.1 with viperRom 1.3.5. I hate to ask this way, bit could someone point me in the direction to get back up to a 4.3 or 4.4 Rom? What recovery do I need, radios, etc...
Thanks in advance.
