Is there a way to auto-enable the extra volume button for calls, either through the settings or by adding/editing a file in the phone?

Anyone?
You can make everything louder without hitting the button: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293133. Scroll to the bottom of the post to get zips if you don't want to edit by hand.

Thanks for suggestion, but if possible I would prefer to just auto enable this specific option.

Hi all,
can someone help me, I seem to have a stuck notification on my stock ics s3.
I'm pretty sure that icon means there are more notifications than can be displayed, but you can see there are no notifications.
I have restarted phone and its still there. any ideas?

Hello. I just moved to ICS, and I'm doing some modding in it.
There's one thing I don't like and that is the spacing/padding on the left and right side in some (most) menus.
Does anyone know how to remove this?
Let me illustrate with a mockup:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The left is how it is, and the right is how I'd like it.
It is ofcourse also very noticeable in the Settings menu:
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Its an accessabilty setting
Its for deaf people i think, try checking that menu in your settings
It's hearing aid compatibility. The setting should be under call settings, in the settings menu obviously.
It is as @gamer649 and @Envious_Data suggest. Under call Settings is an option for 'Hearing aids', you get that type of icon when option for this is ticked. The icon is basically telling you that hard of hearing option of some sort is selected.
Check this post later, if you have other icons that you donĀ“t now what they do or are. http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z1-Z1s/Unidentified-icon-on-status-bar/td-p/424605
Thanks guys
Instead of saying thanks, you can express your thanks by pressing the thanks button.
I've received an I9300 from a friend, that has a strange screen overlay/popup on the home screen. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Thanks in advance!
I've seen that before. Its factoryapp. Factory mode.
If you didn't enable it yourself then you know an app for that.. one you downloaded probably did it.
You need root to fix it. No root means flash back to stock.
Find efs/factoryapp/ and open the factoryapp file with a text editor and change its contents to the opposite of what it is now. Save and exit. Reboot phone.
