[Q] coby mid8065 8gb stuck on coby screen - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

good afternoon,
I have a coby mid8065 8Gb tablet. When the power button is pressed, it shows the coby screen, and nothing else. I tried holding the vol+ and power keys together, and got the same coby screen (white COBY, black screen). I tried vol- and power, no reaction at all. I tried vol+, vol- and power = COBY screen as before.
I have seen instructions to hold the return key while booting, but those leys on the lower left corner are not illuminated at all.
I hooked it to my computer via USB cable, and the computer won't recognize it. It charges via the usb cable OK.
Is there some SW I can put on the SD card that will help it boot?
I tried OneClickRoot, but it won't run.
I'm out of options here, so can someone please give me some direction. right now, this is a square frisby.
02/28/14 - I pulled the back cover and de-soldered the red battery lead, waited several minutes and re-connected it.
When the power button was pressed, I got a battery icon (as if it was charging), but no COBY in white letters. Holding any combination of buttons did not work.
After several minutes, when the pwr button was pressed, the COBY showed up again.
This tablet has an Amlogic processor, AML 8726-MX
If anyone knows about the guts of this tablet, there are two small contacts close to the battery leads, labeled FT BOOT, Shorting these has no effect on turning the tablet on.
Guys, I,m out of options here. There are a lot of really smart people out there, so someone should be able to come up with a procedure to get this up and running.
I do want to emphasize again, that when the tablet is connected via USB to a PC it is NOT recognized. I have tried Kies and Win XP SP3 SHOULD be able to recognize it.
Many thanks!!

[Q] can't get into usb mode - White battery with question mark logo screen

I noticed that my hp touchpad was shutting down while in standby. I immediately thought it was a autoupgrade and so when it booted up and started installing the new webos I panicked and hit the power and home buttons to prevent the upgrade because I have CM7 alpha 3.5.
When I booted it up again I could only see a battery icon with a question mark in the middle. I can't make my win7 pc recognize the tablet and nor does the hp doctor for the same reason.
Does anyone have a clue how I can fix this? I know that some people in the past had this same issue that was caused by faulty usb cable or not having the battery correctly inserted (for other webos devices) but this is not the case. Just before I canceled the upgrade I had 20% battery and I had it plugged in and charging.
Thanks.
Don't know if you already tried it or if it helps, but charge your TP with the original charger and your cable while the icon appears. After app. 2 h charging (should be sufficient) try to reboot it (power + mid button) into recovery mode (vol up button). If this does'n work (no reboot or something) try to force reboot (hold power button and press 10 times the home button quite fast) into recovery mode. After that, the USB icon should appear and doctoring should work (exept if you have created an extf3 partition which has to be removed BEFORE doctoring).
Hope it helps...
Best, z3no
I had it plugged in yesterday for most of the day and nothing happened apart from booting up to the same screen. Left it during the night unplugged and now can't get it to boot again. Just a bank screen , nothing happens. I have it plugged in for the last 2h but nothing changed.
Basics
Have you tried holding both the power button and the "center" or "home" button down for about 20 seconds? Release when you see the HP logo. That should force a hard reset. It saved my bacon when I had a problem caused by the new WebOS update.

thanks. I did it for more than a minute and nothing. I can't get any response from it now.
Try another charger, maybe the one you have is faulty?
There is also a posibility that the cable is now bad. I had a friend have the similar symptoms. It turned out he was abusing his cable to the point is was intermittent. He'd plug it in and think it was charging, just to come back and find it black screen, dead. He replaced it with his Blackberry charge cable (micro USB) and he's good to go.
I had the same issue with charging from day one I found that both of my touchpads
Had issues charging With the touchpad cables
the cable to me seems very flimsy so I went out and bought two blackberry cables and I have had no problems since then and the cables feel a lot better made than the hp cables
So just before going for extreme measures (aka open the device) I decided to phone HP that told me that they were going to collect the device free of charge because it's still under warranty (they confirmed that). The problem is what if they find out that I had and Ext3 with android on it? will they charge me for the fix? because the issue must be in the battery (once it can not even charge or boot). But can they fix the battery but then charge me because later they find out about the CM7 stuff? Thanks for your help

[Q] [exigency]Can not boot up, the screen remain black.

Model: Asus Transformer TF201.
OS: Android 4.0.3 - updated on 1th Feb 2012.
Actually I tried to root my yesterday (1th/Feb) using "viperMOD PrimeTime", but somehow it failed(maybe wrong choice or wrong option).
In the middle, the transformer shut down and rebooting but never up. After that the screen remain black until now(become stock?).
Few things I tried:
1. I hold the power button for 5+ second, it shakes just like power up but nothing happen.
2. I hold the power button and the down volume for 5+ second, it shakes just like power up but nothing happen too.
3. Connect USB cable to PC, "adb devices": nothing in the list.
So this is the condition I face now, I just wanna the transformer back in normal in what ever way.
maybe: T-flash burning ROM?
Any recover button?
Go to services?(can I say about the rooting? if that still in warranty?)
what ever way.

Please help or advise me.
Thank you.

[Q] XperiaP wont power on/charge - no red light - don't want to lose my pics or vids

Hello, been googling this and it constantly brings me to this forum.
However my Xperia P is unmodded/rooted or whatever.
Situation:
Phone won't turn on or even charge no matter what I try. I don't even get a red charging light or any screen activity. Tried an number of chargers, sockets and USB ports. Left it over night, no change.
Trying the various "Hold down the volume button and turn it on" tricks google turns up has had no effect either.
I have not tried using the sony repair option yet because it says it will delete anything on internal storage! This phone has no SD card slot and everything is saved on the phones 16gb internal storage. This is what I care about the most, I have photos and videos from nostalgic events such as a wedding that I really REALLY want to recover. I don't care if my phone goes up in flames, its whats on it that I really want!
Background:
Two days ago it ran out of battery overnight (was pretty sure it was near full before I went to bed.) Left it in the charger the next day after I noticed it was off and came back to it a while later to see it still wasn't turning on HOWEVER I was getting the red light and the sony boot up screen and then back to black screen as there was no power. I was not paying a whole lot of attention at this stage however as I was returning home from a trip. Just assumed the cable was off and it never got a charge.
Came home and began charging it that night, again, red light still worked when I tried to turn it on indicating it had low battery,
But when I came back to it, AGAIN it still had no charge. But by this stage no more red light no more phone activity.
I've no idea what's happened. Phone has been annoying me the past 6 months with randomly running out of battery out of the blue and poor performance but I was not expecting this. Really don't want to lose those photos or vids, is there ANYTHING I can try?????
Thanks for reading.
@Sisko-ire
Have you updated firmware with flashtool or PC Companion before?
Do you know how to and can test if you can connect the phone in flashmode (phone off, connect to USB while pressing volume down key).
Try pressing power + volume up for about 10 seconds, see if you get the (1+) 3 vibrations to turn it off before you try flashmode.
Thanks for the reply.

As mention I have tried the various 'hold down button' options mentioned on various posts before. Phone does not respond. Zero vibrations... nothing.
I have used the PC companion to update my phone (android update from what I can guess). Not used flashtool before.
Holding down the volume key and plugging in the USB does nothing.

One thing reported to fix similar problem was to disconnect the battery, but didn't work for another user, worth a try though.
If you still havent gotten it working, there is a way to force charge the battery. Look at my thread, got some pics there.

[Q] My Tablet does not start or charge! Please help!

Hi,
My Samsung Tbalet 10.1 GT7500 with Android 4.0 suddenly froze with the Samsung logo at boot and then became dead. Not starting or charging.
I have searched for help and done the following -
1.Pressing the power button long enough
2.Pressing power and volume together and similar permutations
3.Pressing volume up and down and touching the screen
4.Connecting to a car charger and connecting to a PC
5. Opened the back cover and disconnected the connector from the battery for 3 minutes and tried to charge again
I cannot even do a hard reset by pressing buttons since there's no response to any button!
Can anyone help? I don't mind even a hard rest just to get it going or any other clever ideas.
A bit desperate as cannot replace this tablet for some months!
Megan
Can only see apx on the device manager!
After spending a day with it, the tablet is still dead but when i connect to the pc and press power, I can view apx in the device manager?!!

:good:
I would try opening and checking all cable connections. And, also, cut the red battery wire. Press power button to discharge all components. Leave it one night. Fix the cutted wire, and plug on charger. Wait 10 minutes at least, to charge the battery. Press power button, again and again and keep pressing, it will late a little, and will work. This is how I fixed mine... :fingers-crossed:
