[Info] Kit Kat Baked Coming Soon... - G2 General

Hey guys,
1st off this an apology to the Galaxy Note 3 users, if you check this thread I am sorry. I didn't realize the phone would be so expensive even with the upgrade fee so luckily I was able to get this kickass device for $50, a hell of a deal considering it retails for $700. So I hope the LG G2 welcomes Team Baked and I to this device. My team leader (travp624) and I have the same phone but different carriers now. So I should be maintaining the Sprint LG G2 while he maintains the Verizon LG G2. I am in the process of building a test version of the rom, this rom is still not 100% complete but I would like to see what needs to be done with the Sprint version. Trav told me earlier today that he has no issues with SMS or Phone while using LTE on the Verizon version so fingers crossed. We probably won't release it until he says it is 100 proof and then I can only use his official build but I might run test builds ahead of time to see what features/bug fixes can be added and fixed. We took a break for a while on this rom as many of the members of the team became overloaded with time they had. So now we are slowly but surely getting this rom and team members back together. Please be patient and don't ask me to leak you a copy, you wouldn't want it until the official version anyway. The website of our team and rom and be found at http://www.bakedrom.com and I used to be a device maintainer for the Nexus S 4G.

Welcome welcome to G2, I had note 3 and I never regret switching to the G2.

Thank you very much, hopefully having this rom in the future will make you never second guess it

It would be great if you could support the international version as well ☺

That's an idea, I know it is a lot of work doing this type of stuff for developers/maintainers/etc. Eventually I will talk to trav about it when he isn't so overwhelmed to see if we can find a device maintainer for the international version in the near future.

@ebs512 what's up man glad to see you here and to see baked making a return, loved that rom on my galaxy nexus.

Hey Krazie! Appreciate it man! I ended up returning that Evo 4g. It was just problematic with LCD black line issues even after a screen replacement so I was due for an upgrade since Sprint lets you upgrade early and I picked up this nice device earlier. After I get settled it, I should be able to start making some more theme templates and themes. Is this device XHDPI do you know?

I've never tried any of your roms (due to them not being available for my particular devices) but it's always good to see a reputable dev support a truly amazing device. Welcome to the G2 and I look forward to seeing your work. Btw screen resolution is 1080x1848 & 422x424 DPI....XXHDPI?

This is great. I LOVED Baked ROMs on my Verizon GNexus. Can I assume that like your past builds, we'll eventually see an inverted UI and gapps?

Never used BB, but your guys's inverted apps are what made me want to use my galaxy nexus =D Cant wait to see some =D

Trav has 90% done and as far as i Know MMS hasn't been touched Gapps should come released when the rom does. I'm having an issue curling the repo think I'm getting HTML in my repo file and any dev that knows an alternative curling link that I could use please contact me ASAP. I had issues with building on linux mint 16 to i just reverted back to linux mint 14.

Had a note 3 aa well. The G2 is such a better device in so many ways

Glad to see your team. I used your rom on my gnex. Hope you will support international version as previously mentioned. Thanks for considering.

Awesome. I've sampled your roms on a few of my devices and glad to see you guys here in the G2 forums.
The G2 the phone to have ATM. Last I checked there was no development on the Note 3 because of it being locked down.
Update:
Ahh there's some. Just checked. Minimal though. Nothing like the G2 Dev.

Waiting for CM10 thread

Probably not officially supported, but I've seen CM7/9/10 on the Droid Inc (my first android phone) and CM9 plus currently working on CM10 on Rezound (my 2nd android phone).. AFAIK, thunderbolt has CM7 and CM9, and I can honestly see some Cyanogen in this phones future
Id like to see it but either way one has to wait for HTC to release the kernel to start original development right?
Yes it is supported....

Search google, as I just did and there are step by step instructions available how to install CM10 on ur device....would have posted the link but as per forum rules I cannot do so bcoz I am a new to this forum
Yes there is a CM10 build available, however it does not (and probably never will) have working data. Smart phone without data equals dumb phone.
Fortunately there are a couple of talented themers who have put a lot of nice lipstick on the HTC/sense UI (EclipszeRemix) which is good but not the same thing as stock.

His device is somewhat old, so that's why he assumed that it may never have data on CM. Once a device has been out for some time, it loses support as devs move on to new devices. It's the circle of life.
There has been trouble getting CM to work on the last several verizon HTC phones. Even if they get a port working, there are usually broken features due to HTC's changes to android (camera, BT stack, etc).
I guess your best bet is that if you really have to have CM10 on your device, you don't buy the device until CM10 is working to your liking. That will save everyone alot of headache of listening to users complain about not having CM10 on a phone that no one promised it for.

Unfortunately the Thunderbolt only has CM7, which isn't officially supported. There is AOSP ICS but not by CM.
In regard to several posts within this thread, Th kerne source will be helpful but the true issue is the RIL(radio interface layer) that prevents aosp from being ported. If the RIL can be cracked we should have a fully functional CM10 build and it will likely be fully supported. I know for a fact that there are already devs working on this and S-off so hang tight guys things should get interesting. We have some awesome devs on this project already!

ALSO IMPORTANT: Please for the love of god do not try to install any build of CM10 you find on the internet on this device(they are designed for other devices with other chipsets and antenna pairings). YOU WILL REGRET IT, and you will likeley brick your device.(valid until we have our own port as of right now this device is completely unsupported. just trust me on this.)
And to the data being functional see my previous post!

Just saying hi

I just wanted to say hi. I switched to at&t last night n ordered an optimus g. I'm just waiting for it to come in the mail. I'm excited to be part of these forums now.
Now a little back story. My first android device was the HTC Evo for sprint. I got the phone on launch day. I rooted the device n ran cyangenmod6. A couple month later the Samsung Epic was launched. The epic is where I started to develop for a phone. I started off making some themes ( emotionless beast ) n worked my to ROM development. When I left the epic I had the best ROM available at the time. Syndicate Frozen 1.2.
I had to leave sprint n switched to metro PCs. The phone I had was the Samsung Admire. With the admire I helped with getting Odin n cwm working on the device. I then had the very first ROM available. ( no one else was working on the device at the time ). Admiral beast.
Metro PCs was short lived n I switched to T-Mobile. With T-Mobile I had the Lg MyTouch 4G ( lg-e739 ) and its still my current device until my optimus g comes in. With the e739 I helped the cyangen team with cm9 and created my own ROM n kernel ( first time ever making a kernel ). The ROM was cm9 based n I started off calling ICSyndicate. In the last update the name was changed to MyEzOs. After the release of MyEzOs I then helped with CM10 witch we just got working last week.
Sorry for the long post but wanted to let you guys know how I am n what I do. I look forward to unlocking the full potential of this device with out doing the dirty hack to convert it to the n4.

The conversion works fine. More stuff works with the conversion than current aosp/aokp releases. Its not that bad. It may have some long term effect but I haven't seen it and neither have other people who converted. The jellybean camera problem was fixed for those who converted back. I have converted back and forth several times. While converted I had almost everything working besides lte. After converting back I have been able to run all lgog ROMs successfully.

I am also awaiting to see results of 4.3 additions to current rom projects.
But I personally think the LGOG design is much nicer than the N4, the N4 rounded top and bottom make it look like HTC wannabe and seems to add bulk to the phones.
If I had known about the Oppo Find 5 earlier, I would have gotten that instead since the lack of microSD, LTE and the terrible design on the N4 turned me off completely. So ended up with the LGOG for $49, at least the price was attractive since I already pay for the data plan.
FYI, the iPhone 4S is still $100 more at AT&T. And I see AT&T still has iPhone 4, guess Apple in their contract made AT&T buy far more phones than they were able to sell.
- I noticed some AT&T employees even had Windows 8 logo on their shirts, to promote the Nokia WP8 phones, with the shirt on, tried desperately to convince me to upgrade to the iPhone 4 .99 upgrade, not the 4S, not the 5. I found that very amusing.

It is 4.3 running on a stock JB LGOG. As nygfan760 said, any mako kernel will boot on the LGOG, as long as it is updated with the jellybean partitions, which is why the kernel version is identical. I am using it because an android 4.2.2 kernel will not boot android 4.3, caused by changes in the code base between the versions, such as SEAndroid support.

As sad as i am about this, we all knew this day was coming...I am really glad that you were able to bring us the most stable and awesome rom my phone has yet seen before you hung up though..
Thanks so much for bringing us cm11 when cm wouldn't do it officially..
Enjoy your new phone!
Thank you for your hard work Jamie! My Note is running CM11 p12 and I am forever grateful to you.
Hope you get back to it Jamie! Really love your work
Thanks for all your hard work on keeping this old beast up and current. Wouldn't be nearly as useful a phone without you.

Because I'm overly happy with the g2, it blows the hell out of my boss's note 3
And it took almost half a year for aosp and such to get into note 3, not a very friendly to devs OEM anymore
