The thing is i bought my SGS2 in India a couple of months back and now i am living in South Africa.Now Samsung has released the information today that 2.3.4 is available for downloading via Kies but my device is not showing any update ...

Can any one please advice what OFFICIAL firmware is the one i should be looking for so that my phone works in SA now so that it doesn't mess up my device ...

actually i am not able to understand whether i shud be looking for a SA based build or an Indian based build...and which one will actually work on my device ,,,any ideas>

I got Virgin/bell SGS2 and I rooted the phone to unlock so I can use it with FIDO.
I didn't backup stuff.. or I might did but not sure...
the only info I copied about my initial setup is this:

I noticed that I can't use Kies anymore !!
and I want to upgrade to rom that support arabic and I don't want to lose access to market or get any failure !! (( remember it is canadian galaxy s2 ))

I'm a noobie so be ez on me. I purchased a used 10.1 SGH-T859 and went to update to ICS and saw that I have a weird baseband and Build number: Baseband version: T859UVKJ2 Build number: HTJ85B.VKJ2_demo T859UVKJ2_demo The one it should have come with is T859UVKJ3. Kies won't upgrade me to ICS and I'm wanting to root it but not sure how to do it, because I can't find anybody with this version. Was this a show room tablet with a demo version installed? I really have tried to research this before coming here to bother people.
Hey,I have Star N8000.I have attached a pdf file of my Phone.
I bought this phone about four months ago.Now by two days phone is getting hang again & again and many times left part of the screen does not work.I have factory restored this phone but nothing works.
I wanna know if i root this phone and change the ROM of the phone will i able to get rid of that problem.
Or if there is any other way to solve it.Please give me a solution.....

So, recently I've been having trouble with my GPS. It doesn't pick up any signal for whatever reason and I have ready that flashing my phone with a custom ROM/Radio could be the fix.
Now, my problem is I don't know which version to use and whatnot. PLEASE HELP!!
