I can't wait to replace my good old Desire HD for this BAD ASS phone !
I will use my Galaxy Nexus as a backup phone(and to get my flashing/updated android fix), preordered the One X+ :good:
I'm looking to buy a new phone and I'm stuck between this and the Samsung S3...
I am going to probably get the AT&T version whenever it drops and throw it into my phone rotation. The madness never stops lol

Already paid on pre-sale!!!
Now to wait until the 22nd.....
Im looking to get the hox again but I saw the newer software is locked. So I was looking for a used one with 1.85. Long story short I saw the info for the one x+. I'm assuming this one will probably be locked as well huh? I'd like to wait and get this one instead but I really want root/flash.
I gotta wait til Feb, but I'm buying the AT&T version off contract. THIS is the "One" I've been waiting for. Lol At least I'll still have my upgrade available to get the next HTC flagship, that will be announced at MWC 2013, when I get my upgrade in August.

are you guys all forgetting about the LG Optimus G? Undoubtedly looks like the best Android phone ever made. Sorry that's just my two cents. Having owned the At&t One X, I will say that was the best phone I have ever used and really couldn't get much better.

Just curious on what other LGOG users think of the HTC One announced today? I had the international HTC One X and really liked the phone, the camera was leaps and bounds better than the one on the LGOG. The LGOG camera, IMHO, is just ok.
The reason I left the One X for the LGOG was because AT&T lit up LTE in my area just as the LGOG was launched. I didn't hear great things about the One X+ so I went for the LGOG.
NOPE!

Conflicted
I'm really conflicted about it. I really love my LGOG after the N4 Conversion (with fixes, of course) but I also love my sister's HTC One which has a better display, and camera (IMO). I don't know... I'll probably check it out when it comes out but keep my LGOG till my contract ends.
Is it true it's only coming out 4.1.2? Just curious curious and no om enjoying my LG too much!

The HTC One looks like a great device! But I'll probably wait for my 2 year to finish up. I'm pretty content with the LGOG.

Me too. At least the development was fantastic though.
Nope. I came from the One X (AT&T variant) and while the camera was top notch, the locked bootloader, 2.20 root fiasco and a pretty locked down device isn't worth it. It was also my first HTC device and after experiencing Sense firsthand they can take that crap and shove it. It kills the device and is about as laggy and bad as Motoblur in it's heyday.
Now having vented about it I will say this, the device is still within the family AND that dev community here on XDA is topnotch and first rate. Very helpful to noobs and very, very good at getting the device blazing fast and customized.
HTC is just not for me as far as manufacturers go and I won't ever be owning another one unless it's free.
Man what are we going to buy? I got a moto one time. Everybody swore they would not buy another. So I got a sammy. Burned again. So i thought ok its because I'm not buying flagships. So I got the vivid practically on release day. Worst decision ever. Now I got this phone. Which I happen to love. U know every phone I own eventually got Aosp. I think it just does not happen fast enough for some people.
Sent from my LG-E970 using Tapatalk 2
Not at all. HTC makes good devices, but there's no guarantee that you will be able to unlock the bootloader, for OS upgrades (I never count on AT&T providing support for the devices that they sell). In addition, the LGOG more than meets my needs for the foreseeable future. Why spend money if I don't see it as a meaningful upgrade.

Yeah the developers made up for it in most ways! They thumbed their nose at htc
This phone only came out in November. Assuming most people got the phone with a 2 year upgrade, people may be tempted but unless they are rich, nobody's going anywhere.

Bah. If you don't mind switching carriers it is easy to break the contract, sell the old phone for most /all of the ETF. So getting new phones isn't really that hard financially - If you are willing to change carriers.

This is what I do, except I don't always switch between VZW and AT&T. Most of the time I can buy a phone outright keep it for 6 months sell it and buy a new one. It's amazing the deals you can get on eBay and Craigslist. If you do it right, you are out of pocket $200 to $300 a year which is what everyone pays to get a phone on a 2 year contract.
Posssibly. It seems a neat phone, but I will wait for the reviews. I'm getting more and more hiccups and glitches in my OG, and I believe at least 2 are hardware. I hate HTC, but I like metal phones and stereo sound. We'll see.

I came from HTC evo 3d , rooting , unlocking were fairly easy, it was getting the s-off that was a pain! I don't know if anyone had the "wire trick" fun lol. But after all that I had 4.2 cm10 and man that device screamed!
Now , I have never owned a lg but besides the slow go on development, which is just because the phone is so new and waiting for true jb release to att . I love this phone! Took me a while to get over my flashaholic nature , and with aosp to come out any day I'm excited!
The camera is sketchy, but if your trying to take professional photos, get a real camera in my opinion. Otherwise, I don't think I'll ever look back at HTC ,
Its not about what you know , but who you know.
I want to see how many are interested in this phone coming from a non-LG background. I come from a Samsung and HTC background.
Please vote everyone. Thanks.
Thinking about it, to replace my Galaxy Nexus. But since Ive never touched an LG smartphone Im not sure what (if?) the status of "third party" development would be like. Ive also never seen their overlays over Android so Im not sure what Ill be in for.
But, Snapdragon 800 makes up for some of that

I'm picking up the LG. I've had all HTC 's and Samsung's. I'd have the Optimus G PRO for a couple months and loved it. It was a tremendous phone. IMO. I just hope the development community come through. I think with it being on all carriers it will.

Will be my first LG since the Dare - if that counts. I usually sport a Samsung or Apple but am currently running a Lumia 928. WP8 has a long ways to go! Looking forward to the G2!
I've had every HTC Android that Sprint carried, but switched to the Nexus 4 in February, so the G2 won't be my first LG device, but it will be my first LG device with LG software on it. I'm looking forward to this phone.
Just pre-ordered it, I have had my HTC Amaze 4G for a bit now and the LG G2 will be a huge leap, in terms of specs! lol This will be my first LG experience! Hope for the best!
I've used the Charge, GNex, Rezound, Maxx, DNA, S3, Note 2, Maxx HD, and the S4. This will be my first LG. I'm not too worried about the bootloader being locked down. The navigation keys are movable and most of the other things I'll want to change can be done just by being rooted,
first LG here since the LG env touch lol. my smartphones were all htc and samsung... eris, incredible, rezound, gnex, s3, dna, s4...so this is my first LG too.

I dont think any LG phone has gotten so much "must have" responses, so I would be suprised if we dont get lots of roms. Especially if Nexus 5 will be based on it.

Really lucky you bro.. I didn't realize they were shipping them right away. Good news.
Could you please share your experience about
Knock knock
Music player sound quality
Camera
Screen quality
If possible open a new thread for AT&T phones(just a suggestion). Just so all AT&T experiences fall in one place. Developers can figure out the missing features too.
I am going to switch from my note 2. I really love my note 2 but the size after a year is starting to get to me a bit. 5 inch screens look funny to me because of them being narrow and tall and I love the bigger screen in the small form factor. Great specs and great size. I will miss my note, but the lag, crappy gps, terrible amoled screen, and the slightly too big size are starting to turn me off.

So after using it a bit, do you feel like you want to pick the S4 back up or are you totally satisfied with the G2.
Personally I cant remember the last time I was so excited about a phone. I remember when I went to the S4 from the note 2 and I really just couldn't get excited about it at all. It didnt feel like an upgrade.
Heres hoping the G2 can win me over...

I have been waiting for the HTC One Max that should be releasing on Verizon. I am due for an upgrade in February though so by then something else may be right around the corner. I would say though if you like HTC wait for the One Max otherwise you could always get the LG G2 and root it and I am sure it won't be long until KitKat is out for it since the Nexus 5 is based on the G2.

O: nice, I have enough looking at phones too, but nothing really excites me. Hopefully it will come to Verizon.
only a few good phones go to vzw the htc one, s4, lg g2, and the dna dont be surprized if vzw misses out
If I was getting a new VZ phone, the only ones on my list would be Droid Maxx or the G2. The G2 I'd be planning to mod and install a new rom right away. Droid Maxx I'd probably just root to add some new capabilities, but leave the rom alone.
To me, HTC One is out for only having 2 buttons. The S4 is out for having a center physical button. I don't love the G2's back buttons, but I suppose I'd get used to it. I don't love that the Maxx has capacitive buttons, but it's better than the One or S4's offerings in my opinion.
Depends on what you do with your DNA.
If you take a lot of photos you might not be happy with anything 'ultrapixel' pixel, and definitely wont be happy with the G2.
If you don't the the G2 is excellent.
I am looking at switching from Verizon to T-Mobile or Sprint. Should this phone be my first choice?

It's currently my first choice but I too am waiting to see what HTC trots out this go around. Sony sensor rumors might mean that they actually have managed to put a good camera into their flagship phone.
Loved my M7, I'm hoping for another handset like that one.

The GF has had hers for 48 hours now and I've gotten a chance to put it through it's paces, it's an excellent phone, don't think you would be disappointed. But "best" and "1rst choice" are all pretty subjective as each user has his/her own needs, usage patterns, and desires. Crowning one phone in a carriers lineup is problematic.

I've been an HTC guy since the Thunderbolt. All of my HTC phones were unlocked, rooted and s-off'd. I've had the Thunderbolt, Rezound, One M7 and One M8. I got tired of waiting for HTC to do something different. The M10 doesn't look like it is going to be much of a departure from previous models. I am very happy with my LG G5 so far. I hope someone finds a way to root it. I think the days of completely unlocked phones are going away.

I was also torn between getting the G5 or waiting for the HTC 10. I'm on Sprint, and Best Buy is selling the G5 for $99.99 with a new contract renewal, but I found out that that sale price ends on the 9th. I was originally going to wait for HTC's announcement to decide what to buy, but I didn't want to miss the sale price in case I ended up choosing the G5 anyways. So I just ordered the G5 from Best Buy for $99.99 and will take advantage of their 14-day return policy if after the 12th I decide to go with the HTC 10.
Your first choices should likely be between the g5 and s7.

don't really matter which order i put it in. becuase your opinion is different then mine.
or should I say they all good phone's which ever you pick. then we don't fight over a phone.
No worries, just curious.. You did specifically put the overall highest rated android phone at the bottom of the list and I was hoping for some insight.
I'm currently have the G5 and V10 tied for first place, G4 in second, and nothing after that... Because if it doesn't have a removable battery and Android it isn't a good deal in the long term (in my opinion of course)
